If I wouldn't have ran across such a screaming deal on the pair of Forte IIs that I bought I probably would have used that money to get DeanG's crossover upgrades and would have kept my RF-7s.
That being said, I just didn't have the $$ to get quality amplification that is necessary for the RF-7s. The Fortes and the KLF30s I have work awesome with my H/K amp.

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: North Central"North Central" is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw "Fargo" you probably didn't think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot.
Yikes. Even got the Minnesota part right! []

Bose's official reply is that the specs that other speaker companies put out don't mean squat. What really matters is how everything sounds.
Ah the irony.

Virtually all subs have gain controls that let you blend the sub's output with your receiver/speakers.
I certainly like my SVS, although it is better suited for movies that have lots of LFE effects. I have it crossed over at about 55Hz. Music has some information below 55Hz, but not much depending on the type of music you listen to.
The RSW-15 from Klipsch has what many describe as excellent bass 'slam' and isn't the least bit boomy.
The physical location of the sub in the room can also play a large part in how well it blends with the other speakers and also with how tight or boomy it sounds.

Only if you have the RF-83, RF-63, etc front mains. If you have the previous Reference series (RF-7, RF-5, etc) keep the RC-7.

Michael, when are you going to put your Forte IIs in your signature? You're not ashamed of them, are you? []

Looks like its probably a Euro-only model.
Here's a link for you:

A co-worker's sister just had gastric bypass surgery. Between the liquid diet before/after and everything she's lost about 70 pounds so far.
I hope everything turns out as planned for you. [Z]

Just got the 3 bumper stickers I ordered as well. Of course none are actually going on any bumpers, but I'll be displaying at least 1 proudly in my home theater!

HK does make some great receivers, don't they?
-
RC-7 center channel for sure, then a sub such as a RSW-15 or the new Reference RT-10D or RT-12D.

Did you check the speaker wires to make sure positive is connected to positive, negative to negative?
Are your audio settings on your computer set up correctly?

Those Forte II's will sound a lot better with more optimum placement.
Yep, they were on the outside until today. I just moved them to the inside so I could get a better feel for the KLF30s. Trust me, I will be rocking the KLF30s until the last second possible when my friend finally comes to pick them up. No idea how long that will be, but it could be quite a while.
Just got done to listening to Queen...good thing my house is 66 years old and the foundation and walls are nice and settled! I can imagine causing some serious structural damage with any house less than 15 years old with these monsters! []

Did you have your computer hooked up to your old receiver or were you using something different?
Also, just make sure the treble, bass and volume knobs are centered as well. Sometimes its easy to overlook little things.
One time I accidentally hit the xMax surround button without realizing it too. It makes everything sound really weird, I personally don't care for it.

That's a trio many could be envious of. I would have a hard time choosing which to listen to, but it sure would be fun!
Jeremy
For now I'll be using the KLF30s. They really sound great. My friend asked me if I was going to let him come back and pick them up when the time was right for him. I told him I'd think about it. [^o)]

where are ur rf-7's? How do those KLF-30's compare to ur RF-7's in your opinion? I was thinking of RF-7 but ended up with klf30 for way cheaper.
They have been moved to the other side of the room...just bought some styrofoam sheets at Home Depot to get them ready to ship! Yep, the Forte IIs are now King of the Hill here!

So your Forte IIs are Oiled Oak also? At first I thought they looked too dark, but the color is really growing on me. I like them much, much better than the light oak KLF30s that my best friend just bought. (The color that is, the KLF30s certainly blow the Fortes out of the water as far as sensitivity, but there's something about the Fortes that edges out the KLFs just a wee bit.)

For best signal transfer its best to go from your cable box into your receiver. You'll benefit by having a shorter signal path and less possibility of interference from other components and wires.
For video, unless you don't have enough inputs on your TV for everything you hook up to it, I'd just connect the video output from your cable box directly to your TV.

BTW, these are the KLF30s that he paid $500 for. The guy hadn't used them in 3 years since he remodeled his house. He was glad to get rid of them, my friend was glad to get them, and I was more than glad to store them for him! [6]

LOVE em! Although, as of today I have a pair of 99% mint light oak KLF30s right next to them. WOW. Too bad they're my friend's speakers that I'm just storing for him temporarily. When he left he asked if I'll be enjoying them for him for the time being. YOU BETCHA!
Hottest gift for someone who has everything!
