  1. Now I know what you meant! [] I noticed tonight that Klipsch iFi is no longer listed on Apple store any more . . . shame.
  2. 2/21 UK-based iPod accessory store iWorld has begun selling the Klipsch iFi, and also the Klipsch iGroove.
  3. Well I did remove the link on a previous message, so Amy won't get so upset with us! []
  4. Ouch! Well all you need to know is a few key words and you will find it on any major search engine. The Klipsch iFi is immediately available from several local brick and mortar vendors for a much reduced price anyway . . does it really matter anymore?
  5. Your correct Jay! Yes if you currently type in the deal password the price drops $200! Hmmm . . . I wonder how many people know about this? []
  6. If talking about true LCD flat panel, then $3000 is not quite enough for a good 42" to 50" unit, although there are some good units close to that size. First and foremost is the Sony 40" KDL-V40XBR1 LCD Flat Panel HDTV, this is a HD tuner built-in 720P unit which has a extremely sharp/high contrast picture for close to $3000. The second choice is a 1080P 37" LCD flat panel from Mitsubishi model LT-3780 you will be very impressed with the picture, I've seen this for less then $3000.If you are thinking about LCD or LCOS RPT then at about the $3000 mark I would recommend the Sony 50" 1080P KDSR50XBR1 SXRD Rear Projection HDTV which you can get for around $3000 or slightly less. It's picture quality is awesome! There are many LCD RPT 720P units that are a lot less then $3000 but stick with mainstream brands such a Sony, JVC, Samsung, Panasonic, Toshiba. Right now you can get some excellent buys from units that are being cleared out to make way for the 2006 models arriving soon. Also if you consider DLP I have also seen the excellent Samsung 1080P "Captain Kirk" 56" HLR5668W self standing design for $2899 locally.
  7. I wonder which will occur first . . . . Apple reaching a billion iTune downloads or Klipsch finally getting and shipping their nano inserts? []
  8. Had a person who went to local San Jose Costco on 2/14 and saw they received another large order of Klipsch iFi units in at the same price of $199.99. Apple and Circuit City still selling theirs at $249.95.
  9. I forget the refurbs and shop around. Doing web search you see Klipsch iFi systems sold in canada.
  10. Just remember while the iFi sub woofer is a good amp you still internal EQ crossover at about 110 Hz, but any 8 ohm speaker will work.
  11. This particular failure has been reported a few times in the past (rare). I would stop using the system until you talk to Klipsch tech support. In a previous example someone had this failure at night heard this loud banging sound and then woke up to damaged satellites when testing system later on. Its almost sounds like 60 Hz somehow leaked to input of amp and then the sub woofer was traveling to full excursion (banging sound) like its stuck on maximum volume.
  12. The only thing you should do is utilize the headphone output to drive 2.1 system, the iFi is not meant to be used as a 4.2 with a receiver. Klipsch already sells a small 5 speaker surround system (unpowered) that would be a better fit along with a sub woofer.
  13. The Klispch iFi have a much smoother, lower, less distorted bass with no boom, the midrange is very lifelike and clear compared to the PM 2.1 THX. The high end is bright on the PM 2.1 compared to the Klipsch iFi but I can listen to the iFi system for hours with no audio fatigue. If you have a opportunity visibly check out one system against the other, I think you will find Klipsch iFi is one awesome speaker system! One more thing the Klipsch iFi amp (class D) runs very cool compared to the amp in the Promedia 2.1!
  14. This all kinda goes back to a previous discussion between you and Andy. Link But Andy was partial to the iFi Sub. "And although the SPL curves definitely show more output from the Ultra sub at the extreme low end (two 8"s, bigger box, more amp power), the iFi sub has a special something, that for me makes it my favorite sub." Also Andy mentioned earlier about the high-pass filter EQ was internal to the iFi sub for use with the iFi's RSX 3, where as a normal RSX 3 had similar EQ built in so not to be damaged by bass.
  15. Well now we know what you will do if ever your iFi amp dies. []
  16. Not recommended. A stepdown transformer doesn't effect phase freq (50 Hz versus 60 Hz).
  17. Regarding # 1 eventually you probably see a price adjustment, but if Klipsch is making money and some dealers want to make less so be it. I haven't heard one rumor about a replacement or improved iFi. Regarding # 3 there have been discussion of a advanced two-way remote, but no word from Klipsch about its status. As previously mentioned you tend to see only the people requiring assistance in these forums, always a pleasure to read feedback or suggestions about this speaker system. Hey I think the Klipsch iFi is still a good buy for $249! [8-|]
  18. Worth a try. Sometimes you just need to reset of the iPod before plugging it into a accessory for it to work correctly. To Reset iPod nano toggle the Hold switch (set it to Hold, and then turn it off again). If you need to update or restore firmware see this link
  19. Perhaps you are listening to 60 Hz hum, check you AC connections, make sure your computer (if using one) and the iFi are on same circuit. Disconnect all devices (except satellites and control pod) , with no input you should hear very little from subwoofer.
  20. As one Apple.com reviewer recently said "As other reviewers have noted there is no point in comparing this system with the Bose Sound Dock as it is simply a decent clock radio in disguise." []
  21. Its a rare type of piano in Victoria's house . . . a Harryhausen!
  22. For Nano, 30 GB, 60 GB inserts as Amy said " Send an email to promedia@klipsch.com and give your name, address, phone #, and serial # of the unit (on the back of the sub)."
  23. 1) Thats not normal. There should be no pops or crackles.2) The dock after standby mode should return to the same volume as previously set, if it doesn't it sounds like a defect with your amp. The volume is controlled by the dock wheel in volume mode versus bass mode.
  24. If you knew the store type/location, and the date purchased by cash possibly someone there might be able to reprint a recept for the iFi? Good PR for store chain. Hey its worth a try.
  25. If you can hear audio on your headphones from iPod undocked, try plugging that output to your line-in on the back of the sub-woofer. The line-in was meant for a computer but would still produce audio.
