    Madagascar

I wasn't excited about the movie itself - it wasn't as good as I thought it would be....the only thing that saved it for me was the penguins. The Penguin Christmas was a hoot -- they should have shelved the movie and let the feature-ette at the end be released on it's own. Forget the movie - go to the Penguins instead
  9. Womanthing, you must be quite a unique individual if songs like Tush, Gun Love, and Tube Snake Boogie get you into the Holiday spirit. [:^)] [] This week, a friend of mine suggested that I pick up Honky Chateau by Elton John (1972). Pop music never really did much for me but I have to admit that I really liked this. There is some truly fine musicianship on this album that I never really associated with Elton John. I think it's been remastered and it does sound nice. Contains "Rocket Man" and "Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters". "Unique" is one words that has been used to describe my personality .... It took 3 husbands to finally find one who enjoys being associated with someone like me! Actually Viva Las Vegas, Cheap Sunglasses, Sharp Dressed Man and Legs are what I enjoy most about this cd. And you know, anyone can wrap gifts & bake to regular Christmas music - it takes someone different to do these things differently. Regarding your pick - I still love Honky Cat probably best of anything other than Yellow Brick Road that Elton John released. Good pick!
  10. Happy Whatever Y'all celebrate this time of year! If Sputnik is still looking for romantic music this might be one to add to your list.....there are women who find Bob Seger's voice apealing....There are a couple songs on here that bring back good memories for this once young lady. How about Bob Seger/Greatest Hits (Rock/pop) CD - 1994 1. Roll Me Away 2. Night Moves 3. Turn The Page 4. You'll Accomp'ny Me 5. Hollywood Nights 6. Still The Same 7. Old Time Rock & Roll 8. 14. I waited for a few days with no reply to my answer (I posted Wed, Nov 09 2005, 5:39 PM) and didn't really know if that was correct or not - didn't mean to "wreck the whole game.Angry [:@]" as toddvj posted ~ and haven't been galavanting on other threads either as theryugobuddy added. Little hard to do much of anything with the flu - so I'll stick to other threads from now on. I appologize to everyone here.

  19. ok - from a woman's perogative.....Barry White, Marvin Gaye, Jazz -- really great picks guys - these work for me!! Bolero - a real No-No since that is so obvious what you are trying to do and you are correct sir, no decent woman would fall for that crap! Since lyrics can sometimes muck up a good song how about something instrumental .... that way you don't have to worry that the lady might actually pick up on some hidden meaning! I appologize AGAIN Sput for insulting you and Leonard Cohen...but good Lord man, the moment has passed once she starts crying!! Next we need to work on Grog.....YMCA, Brickhouse & Superfly!!! If I wasn't laughing so hard I might cry! Please don't use holiday music to set the mood -- when you aren't together anymore the holidays will be grim reminder of you!! New Age you might want to try: Eternity: A Romantic Collection Quiet Days - Various Artists Tranquility - (Reflections of Love is beautiful) Also, don't forget to set the mood....romance isn't just music!!! 24. Mean and nasty is not absolutely necessary -- but you are right about Adam Sandler!! [] Do you really think if the original name of the thread had been "movies I really-sort of-kinda don't like" many people would have responded? LOL
  25. Ok - I'll agree with you on these ALL except Bruce Willis, who I just like to look at!! But that is a personal opinion and my husband knows about that!! HA -- I would like to add a few more names to the list 1. The Rock -- oh pleeeeeeze - snore! He is the 2000 edition of Fabio 2. Any Muppet movies 3. Any "reunion" movies - I don't care what the Brady Bunch, Maybury RFD, the Cosby's - don't care where they are or what they are doing....... 4. Any Star Trek movies (sorry I know y'all like them but they don't do a thing for me) 5. Anything with alien creatures in it - I have a teenager - I've seen worse than these movies can come up with when it comes to frightening people and situations. 6. How about the movie "Death to Smoochie" - that's another big fat zero in my world 7. Nothing with Robin Williams, Steve Martin, any Saturday Night Live Alum (save the Blues Brothers-but that's more the music than the acting)...... I could go on - but I think I've made my point! By the way, do Steven Segal, Richard Benjamin & Richard Dreyfuss really think they are actors??????? Thank heavens we don't have to endure "Bridgett Loves Bernie" anymore!
