Yes sir, I've played bass for a zillion years[] But I also play a little guitar. BB is a favorite of mine, but I really enjoy Elmore James, the rawness (is that a word) strikes me.

You can also try: www.musicstack.com and www.Gemm.com and www.jackwolak.com jack has SEVERAL bootlegs I've bought from all with zero problems, I just got ripped from a used seller on Amazon. Did not respond to emails and its been 1 month with no CD.[:@] Its the first time and I've bought over 100 cd's so I guess its a pretty good track record.

Somewhat. I agree its filtered down from the likes of Genesis, yes, King Crimson, ELP. But I'm okay with that...sort of. I've heard some of the so called new prog, like the stuff nicholi listens to, (no offense nicholi) and if I have to choose, and I do, I choose the imitators. Don't get me wrong, theres some good stuff out there.. Kapia, The Tangent, IQ, Pendragon, Arena, PT, Neal Morse (Got me into prog) ect. I would LOVE to have a new group come along and shock me...I won't hold my breath. However, some of the old stuff is new to me. I wasn't always a prog freak. I just recently discovered, Camel, Nektar, Happy The Man. You didn't answer my questions above, do you find the groups mentioned in my earlier post PROG? Just thinking, again. Ron

Couldn't sleep last night so I got to thinking (danger). Can you really define prog? Someone of the forum mentioned "sweeping or soaring melodies layered over vocals", I agree with that but couldn't you also say that of a Dean Martin, or The Honeydrippers tune? Maybe prog can't be defined, maybe its a state of mind musically? Someone on this forum has this in his signature," Lights out, feet up, tubes glowing" I think he should add "prog playing". That sums it up for me... Genesis "Suppers ready on the platter, Lights out, kicked back. the tubes a glowing.[] Brings a smile to my face thinking about it. Maybe prog takes you to a place, makes you think. Sorry for the rambling, really don't have anyone I can talk to about this stuff. Its not like my wife will sit down and talk about the new The Watch CD, or my friends have a clue, isn't prog a city over in Europe? Ron

Hey, I'm just glad we haven't started calling each other names and started a flame war[] See if you can find a sample of ,The Watch-Vacuum...... TRUST ME!!! Ron Hey TRon-- I found a sample of Vacuum by the Watch at http://www.progarchives.com/, and it sounds incredibly like Gabriel era Genesis--I want some! But, can you get it for any less than $22--its not on the website attached to Prog Archives, and its not on allofmp3.com--I've only seen 1 copy on eBay for 18.50 with $4 shipping! How did you get yours? Might have to bite the bullet-- Got mine on Amazon, don't remeber what I paid but I don't think it was $22. Its worth it however, not a bad tune on the disc..get it. They are headlining Rosefest this year. Sometime in April. I'm there. If you want other recommendations let me know, I'm a prog FREAK[] Ron Ron
