I know the perfect timbre match for the KLF-30's is the KLF-C7 Center. Does anyone have any experience with the KV-4 & KLF-30's? I have that combination now and it sounds good to me. I was thinking about getting a C7 if it would greatly improve the sound.

Thanks to everyone for all the information and thoughts on cheater plugs. I was able to correct the hum without using a cheater plug. I attached a wire to the ground screw on my adcom ac enhancer and touched each piece of my equipment with the opposite end of the wire. The problem turned out to be my dvd player. I scraped off a little paint around a screw for the cover in order to get a good ground and the hum was gone. If you try this, make sure you touch the bare wire to bare metal. On my first attempt, I touched the bare wire to the painted surfaces of the equipment and nothing happen to the hum. Again, thanks to all.

I was wondering about that. None of my 3 adcom amps rated from 200wpc to 60wpc have a 3 prong plug. I thought they may have been grounded internally.

Are there any drawings that show how to disconnect the shield on the interconnects? I'm using Straight Wire interconnects?

Does anyone have any experience using cheater plugs that convert a 3 prong plug into 2? It worked perfectly in reducing the hum, but I don't want to damage the amp. Rotel recommended against it - any thoughts?

When you refer to distance settings, do you mean the delay settings on the pre-amp used in the surround mode? I believe the M&K is an 80 or 90. I've had it for several years and paid about $1,000 for it. I appreciate your response.

I am currently using an Adcom 5500 that has 200 wpc and the bass isn't as tight (distinct) as I would like for it to be. I have heard that the Rotel 1080 would be a good choice. Does anyone have any experience with this amp or any other recommendations. I am using a Rotel 1066 pre-amp along with an M/K subwoofer with the crossover set at 80. In home theatre mode the bass is acceptable. I notice a big difference when used in 2 channel only.
