  1. Dave, Thanks for the freebies... no problems downloading. So far you are 2 for 2 in the listening pleasure department. Can you give some background on the organ selection? Thanks, --Ken
  2. seti, I installed the audiomagius tweakit II several months ago and liked the results. My Scott 222C has been sitting idle ever since. I think the trends has a better low end and clearer mids. The soldering was a little tricky due to the cramped space. My biggest problem was the auricaps supplied in my kit had the stranded wire leads which were too large for the circuit board holes. I believe the new kits have the solid wires so that installation should be easier. The audiomagus forum is a good resource if you have questions during the upgrade. Have fun... I will be interested in your impressions of the upgrade. --Ken
  3. Meagain, Dee: I have had my Trends 10.1 for a few months now. I agree its a great little amp. I just finished a mod to the amp using the "tweakkit-II" from audiomagus. It cost about $50 so I figured it was worth a try. This mod basically replaces the stock input caps with 2.2uF Auricaps and upgrades the electrolytic tank caps to 2700uf Panasonics. I have been listening now for a few weeks and I think it reduces some of the edge you mentioned. I also think the bass is a bit more extended. Not a huge change, more of a "tweak".... a noticable improvement to an already great little amp. A worthwhile upgrade to me. Check out the audiomagus site( www.audiomagus.com) for the upgrades. They are available in DIY form or you can buy the modded amps ($230-$300). --Ken

  5. Bill, I agree, Mike does provide great service. I also like his emphasis on DIY. I ordered one of his TweaKits for the 10.1. I want to listen to it stock for a while before tweaking, though. Great amp -- fun stuff. --Ken
  6. Youre welcome, JMON. When I got it home I hooked it up as my new center channel between flanking Klipschorns (replacing my existing Heresy). The Heresy was nice, but the Belle takes it to another level. The Belle gives a much more integrated sound, particular for HT, where the center channel is much more pronounced than a 3-channel stereo setup. As I mentioned, it looks like the 1976 Belle was updated with a new crossover (AB) and a K-55M driver. I think that the 1976s would have come with a Type AA crossover and a K-55V driver. Several years ago, artto posted that the type AB network was introduced around 1982, a new midrange driver (K-55-M) was used on the Belle. He also referred to a Belle Update Sheet dated 1982. Does anyone have a copy of this sheet? I would also like to thank you again for the demo of your system. I was particularly impressed with your Peach/2A3 Wrights with you Klipschorns. They certainly came across Loud and Clear. although that is the subject of another thread[]
  7. Mark, Will you be using your automatic e-mail notification list for the availability announcement like you did with the Tercel? Sounds like another great product. --Ken
  8. I have a single heresy I that I am currently using in a 3-channel setup (in birch) that I would be willing to sell if you are intersted. Regards, --Ken
