A used Rega P2 is actaully what I was looking at, I woudn't buy a new turntable unless I really got into the hobby. There are a bunch of P2's on ebay with Grado and Audio Technica cartridges for great prices. Well there was anyway, there is still one with a Grado for $225 right now. But these kinda things always come and go.

I told him I thought the exact same thing, it's not often if ever you see a pair of top of the line Klipsch Reference in a dorm, I can understand a Sony 5.1 system and a big screen TV, but this caliber of speakers is a whole different level.

I was talking to my parents earlier about finishing off my 2-channel system with a Rega Planar 2 turntable, and immediately they went into a state of bashing records, immediately thinking they are no longer made simply because "WalMart" and "BestBuy" doesn't sell them. Where are you going to get one? A junk yard? My mom said. No matter what I said, they think it's a dumb idea and will sound like shit. On a side note, aren't records the oldest known form of media still made?

I just did an A/B between my old (cheapo $150 Pioneer Pro-Logic receiver + Klipsch Quintet II satellites) and the new (NAD 2-Ch seperates + Klipsch F-3s) I don't know how I manged to listen to the old setup for as long as I did, it sounds so dead and unnatural compared to the new, and to think if I bought Reference series. I think I'll eventually need to get some Heritage series speakers to really take advantage of this awesome NAD setup.

I've been kind of using my PC as a preamp since I got the amp, doing what you said with the variable inputs, yeah it's kind of a hassle reaching around the back to turn a little knob, a little knob that wasn't really designed to be used as a master volume knob anyway, but it works for the time being. I am crossing my fingers that the preamp is in today.

I wish I could just say F 'em, but they are the only NAD dealer within 300 miles. Which means if I do want that CD player, I'm gonna have to deal with them.

I gave Underground Sound a ring today, to see what the latest details are on my preamp, as it's been 36 days since I purchased it, all they could tell me was "We just received a huge shipment in today which hasn't been scanned yet, which has some NAD components in it., we'll give you a call tomorrow if it turns up." This place is beginning to piss me off, I was promised 3 weeks it never came, I was promised 1 month it never came, I was promised a week after 1 month it never came. I don't think I will be returning to them for the purchase of the NAD C542 CD player.

I don't really know anything about what's wrong with the dog, all my mom said is it's a tumor behind the eye, I dont know why she won't tell me anything else about it, all I know is my dad said "well it's going to have to wait we don't have the money". my dad had insurance on his leg, the total operation cost $32,000 and he owe's $6000 (I believe) for the week in the hospital, and a special VAC machine something or other he has to carry around for another 3 weeks, plus some inhome care service.

The whole reason we started to get concerned is when his left eye started bulging out a little last week, and his eye a little red. So yeah the tumor is behind his eye. There is really nothing I can do, I'm only 21 and work at a grocery store, I don't make millions. I think my dad should just try to take out a loan to ease the impact of the surgery he had done (my dads leg surgery), and get my dog fixed.

Well I was hoping this would be the best week for me in a while, being that I'm probably gonna get my NAD preamp on Wednesday, I was hit with some very sad news, my 7 year old Sheltie has cancer, and the operation is going to cost $1000+ which my family doesn't have that kind of money for right now, since my dad just had the leg surgery and that really hurt our budget. The MRI today on the dog cost $600, that's a lot of money. $600 bam just like that.
