  1. Its 4 on each sat and they give you 4 extra I think, thats what I did
  2. Felt like Bumps>ing this to the top of a dead board, sadly.
  3. Yeah, I always saw it jump to the top but never took the time to read it since I couldn't see the pictures and it was too many pages. BTW justin, are you still going for post records, cause the most I've seen is seb with over 1800, hofy has like 1200. Ray has almost 1400. Just wondering.
  4. I know you probably did this but you didn't mention it. Did you mess with the surround on the control pod? Put the rear plug in the front plug on your sound card to see if it is a speaker or sound card problem. If it plays as loud or louder than the fronts were, than its a sound card problem. I've had this problem before and I don't remember how I fixed it, try setting the windows options to 4 speakers, maybe that will fix it.
  5. The limiter problem has hurt the pros rep. the news of faulty ones spread fast and people are afraid to buy them. It sounds like these two got one before they fixed the problem (they fixed the problem, right?)
  6. After reading all the ish in this thread, what the heck is with launching cats? Is this out of the bass port, and how do you fit a duct taped cat in the port isn't it a little small. Personally, I think it's amusing to watch the sub play ultimate bass test with a piece of paper covering the port, now thats loud.
  7. You make pointless comments though......BUMPs>
  8. Nothing is loose enough to move, but when your pushing that much air, it has to be really tight to stay still, try playing a loud low noise and put your finger right in front of the port, I bet you can't keep it from vibrating. Btw, the "buzz" I have only happens on loud volumes on certain frequencies.
  9. It's probably something loose inside the sub, I've had vibrations or buzzes for quite awhile now, and it's annoying but only noticable when you are close to the sub. I doubt it is the drivers distorting.
  10. The one weakness martin logans have, is that they can't play low bass.
  11. I assumed that they were talking about energizer, It keeps going and going and going.
  12. Unfortunately the v.2-400 board is almost dead, so keep the classic threads on top before its gone!
  13. I'd first like to say to Kim that the digitheater in my opinion, should not even be talked as being a home theater setup. And if it is, its at the very bottom. I do agree with you when you say the pros have a forward sound stage, but keep in mind what these speakers are for. Personally I'd rather have a loud, forward explosion in a movie compared to a neutral one. For music I have to agree though. I'd really like to hear the 600s with a good amp, I went for the 590s because I also use them with my portable player. Anyway, what I read about the digitheater, was that the xfires sounded better cause they had a better amp. I also read that Klipsch's new crossover even out does the xfires, even though the sound isn't quite as good. I'm gettin the 5.1s for the sub, though.
  14. Getting on the list to let you know when they are released will save a lot of time from spending on the forums. E-mail Amy.
  15. Um, I think you need to play some bass heavy music. I don't think anyone would consider the sub weak, unless you got a broken one. the ultimate bass test, country grammer, and #1 stunner are songs I have found to push the promedia's sub. Make sure it is at most 18 inches away from a wall, you'll get more power the closer it is to a wall.
  16. Hey mike, first of all, the sub is an 8 inch, and the bigger the woofer the lower it goes, not the bigger the sound. The bigger it is, the more power it needs to play loud. And from what I've read, the digitheater is a good system, but I think the 5.1s will be better. Know one will know till there released.
  17. I hope they update their site. The article is the v.2-400, not the 2-4.1. In their review of the 2.1, they said things were a lot different. The midrange hole was fixed, and they also said that the extension was better than the crossfire and any other pc speaker on the market(the kept saying that the ba was better, but they aren't sold anymore) The midrange problem is gone on the promedia, but the crossfire still has better drivers, which gives them the edge. The difference in quality is not worth the extra money, the pros sound good enough in my opinion. The dual 8' sub is also a plus. Keep in mind that computer sound doesn't sound that good to start with so adding really good speakers to it is a waste. There is a difference, but not as much as if you listened to a cd.
  18. what is the frequency response on the 5.1? Can you post it in + - 3db. What is the range? Is this just saying the very highest and lowest it can respond at?
  19. How bout this? If you think that better cables make speakers sound better, than good for you. I hope you enjoy them that much more. If you think that all wires are virtually the same, then save your money and feel good for not wasting it. But from reading this ixtreme is "suffering" from the placebo effect, and someguy15 is blowing off about the amount of information he knows. I'd like to say that you are talking about the promedia's here. A speaker system costing $300. If you really want good audio, buy some more expensive ones, don't waste time and money trying to get the most out of pc speakers. Hey someguy, it's not worth the effort to prove him wrong. If he thinks there is a difference, then let him.
