  1. I grew up loving the Oilers. Should be against the law to move a town's team around because some owner turns into a bu!!head and sells out. The Texans are well, not so very good. They don't feel like the Oilers either. Go Oilers Paul
  2. Thanks to all for all of their thoughts on today. Personally, I feel that altough God does instruct us to pray for our enemies, He has also been know to approve of and/or help send some of them down to that deep, dark, warm spot. I surely don't feel bad that they are in Hades right about now, saying, where are all of the virgins? I really hope eternity really is forever, gives em time to hurt, think, and suffer.... Today, I am just happy and blessed to still be here, with my family safe and sound. Feel bad for those who cannot say that today... It's also a shame that on that day, I, along with millions of others, felt like a proud American. We all forgot about politics, and just focused on being who we were. The luckiest people in the world, together. Seems like that feeling of togetherness and fortitude left really fast. What a shame. Probably rather entertaining and enlightening to the terrrorists themselves. They have not forgotten their purpose, goals, unity, or desire to wipe us out yet again. I pray once again, that somehow we could become only partially as dedicated and thoughtfull about our purpose in life as they are in theirs. Once again, God Bless America. Paul
  3. Great job on the speakers! Boston's not very close to Texas is it? Good luck on selling them, shouldn't take long on those. Paul
  4. Woke up this morning feeling sad. I remember waking up 5 years ago in time to see the towers fall on tv. And, at each anniversary of 911, I kinda wonder if they are going to hit us again. I am not trying to start a political discussion of any kind here, I think we may one of those going already... But, today, I am going to try to remember to say a prayer for all of those families who lost someone that day. I bet they woke up feeling more than just a little bit sad. I am also going to pray for God's protection over our country. I honestly don't feel like doing this, but I really should: I am told that we are supposed to pray for our enemies. Easy to think about doing this in theory on Sunday morning when the preacher says to do it. I personally have a hard time not hoping the people that did this to us get bombed back into the stone ages. But, I am going to try to pray for them to today. Or, at least their moms, who probably miss them today too. GOD BLESS AMERICA GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS WHO ARE GETTING SHOT AT AND DYING SO WE CAN SIT HERE AND DISCUSS WHATEVER WE FEEL LIKE TODAY. PAUL
  5. OK. I enjoyed the responses to my question of worst upgrade ever.... NOW: 1: Have you reached audio nirvana, having upgraded, downgraded, degraded, etc. all that you care to in your system, and simply sit back and listen and enjoy? An upgrade to you now is a new cd, piece of vinyl, or dvd.[H][Y] OR: 2: You like your system. It is not bad, but: you still have a new preamp, amp, cd player, dvd player, tt, interconnect, speaker wire, tube, cartridge, tone arm, or something else on your mind that you are convinced, or at least hope, will bring you closer still to that peak of Nirvana?[*-)] A theory of mine is that those who have achieved Nirvana may have left the forum and simply listen to music, or they may still be here and tell others how they too can get a little piece of Nirvana.[8-)] Interested to hear your responses.[] Paul
  6. Exactly Dean. My gear Sucketh not. But obviously there have been moves up, down, sideways, etc, through the years for people. Fun to hear about moves people regretted rather than only moves that were great.[*-)] And, it does help that we are all so amazingly smart. Although sometimes it almost seems to be a burden.[] Paul
  7. Probably a legit seller, though always makes me wonder when someone won't put down where they are from. USA, big place.... And, thinking that it is a rip off or fraud always makes me think, well, too good to be true for a reason... Paul
  8. I loves what I loves! If someone else thinks I'm a nerd, well, I probably wouldn't hear it anyway.[] I'd be listening to my SWEET setup!!!![] Better to be an aurally (sp????????) satisfied Nerd than someone with unsatisfied hearing issues complete with massive sebum retention sydrome. Definition of Sebum = earwax.....[:^)] Paul
  9. Maybe you read my thread about worst upgrade? Getting rid of Peach may have been a worst upgrade - downgrade?[*-)] Paul[]
  10. I would imagine that most people that have reached the point that they are glued to an audio forum have largely reached a point of diminishing reterns. I think my biggest jump in improvement was switch from ss to tubes. Not to stir up that old ss vs tubes thing. Have we ever done a comparison on that? (Sarcasm alert) Interesting to hear others experiences though. Paul
  11. Who here has spent a lot of time obsessing (oops, I mean carefully considering) a new upgrade to an existing item they have, bought a new item, or made a change... ONLY TO FIND OUT IT STANKETH BIG TIME TO THY EARS?[N] This hasn't yet happened, but I keep thinking, Man, I am going to spend some dough and time, put it together, and BOOM. [li] That makes it sound worse....[:@] Any experiences or funny stories of this out there? Paul
  12. Who's a nerd. I went to Hope, looked around, said to myself, Nope, no nerds in Hope.[H] I mean, a bunch of men (a few women and kids), sitting around discussing the nuances of this and that audio. That doesn't seem nerdy at all....[] Plus, when I laughed about me and us being audio nerds in front of my wife and kids, my 6 year old who went to the convention said: Dad, I didn't see any Nerds at the Pilgrimige. And I know that We're not Nerds![] Paul
  13. My kids are really saddened about all of this. Hard to believe he was never bitten by a snake in all his years, then , boom, a freakish thing like that. Paul
  14. My dilema is that I enjoy dvd-a as much as sacd, and want to play back both. So how do you get good redbook cd, sacd, and dvd a? I guess you end up with one soso universal or a ton of individual units that do each good... Paul
  15. The boys thought that sign was funny too. Paul
  16. ANATOLY, MY SIBERIAN SON, IN THE TEXAS HEAT FISHING HARD.
  17. BIG MIKE, MY SECOND IN LINE. THE LITTLE DUDE AT HOPE...
