  1. I agree Michael - even thought he technically isn't my daddy. But he is. All his girls (Christy, 3 daughters, me, Joni, maw maw, and his granddaughters) look up to him more than he knows.
  2. Michael, you are so sweet. This family is surely a team that can't be broken. Its amazing living here, I love it! And not just the 9 that live here, the whole family has tight bonds. Uncle E (dtel) is the strongest man I know, he's tough without having that arrogant macho I'm too cool for school attitude. He hurts and doesn't say much, he fixes things when they're broken, he almost ALWAYS has an answer for any question I ask, no matter how stupid the question may be. He's like a dad to me. He's a great guy, and anyone who hasn't seen that must be blind. So, anyway, besides that mushy stuff, he's on the road to recovery. He's just about back to normal, with his same smart *** remarks. Thanks for all your well wishes for my uncle E and our family, you guys are an amazing extended family! And, Michael, we're ready whenever you are for the "Rock star" hugs!
  3. Final stage....no need for marshmellows, unless you want marshmellow soup.
  4. As promised, here are a few pics of dtel's bonfire. He, Joey, & Johnny (2 of the grooms - dtel's nephew and son-in-law, respectively) built it over 3 days. It is still burning as of 2 pm on Jan 1. It took 8 gallons of deisel and 3 gallons of gas to get this thing going!!! []
  5. Happy New Years everyon!!!!! 2007 is going to be a good year, I can tell already. Hope you all enjoyed your New Years eve. We had a blast. I'll post some pics of the "little fire" in a few and some misc. other pics.
  6. Well, its been a while since I've posted. As most of you know, the wedding went beautifully. I couldn't have dreamed it any better, and we all had a blast. The cruise was amazing!!! Like Aunt C (dtel's wife) said, everyone needs to go at least once. We are already planning the next one. Michael, maybe you could join us for this one?? And, I know it may not be feasible, but it would be cool if you could visit for the holidays. Kinda worried about you, Myspace, e-mail, and voicemail goes unanswered? Hoping you're just very busy or maybe you found a lady friend to keep you warm.... Just wanted to say this Forum is so freaking cool. Yall really are like extended family, even if I'm not a frequent poster. I read often. I'm so glad forums like this exist. It amazes me the close family-like atmosphere that I feel everytime I sign in or post. Maybe a little overstated, but, Michael YOU ROCK!
  7. Yeah I think I might be hooked. LOL. We saw your avatar and that is so sweet, I'm glad you enjoy it. When we saw it we instantly said "OMG, Michael!" and it just seemed perfect. Yeah, even on the cruise we're checking for new posts and new pics btw. No, we're not just using you for your pics, so don't say that, we're just amazed by your work.
  8. Hey Michael - we are on the cruise. As I type we're sailing down to the mouth of the Mississippi River. Already started on drinks, and I'll treat Joni to one for you. We're all having a blast and wish you were here with us. I'll try to take some decent pics for you. And, we have wireless internet in the rooms, so I'll check in occasionally and I'm thinking dtel will too. It's all good!!!!
  9. OK, I am crying and not just at this one of me & my dad. All of them are amazing. Your brain works in mysterious ways and you just capture moments that are worth a thousand words literally. Thanks for keeping the integrity of the event and taking care of your brides. We love you.
  10. We miss you too!!! You are such an awesome photographer, God, I can't stop looking at these! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Uh YEAH!!!! God, I love you Michael. And not just because you made us all beautiful brides, but because you are such a beautiful person. Inside and out. I love that sexy bedroom hair and your loving personality. I can't wait to see you again!!!! And I've never met a more fun or caring guy. Thank you for making this entire week and especially our wedding the best I could have ever imagined. You made the group complete and it doesn't quite feel right with you gone. You are officially adopted into the dtel home and the door is always open. I've never met a person quite like you! Your feelings and loving nature show in your words and actions, but your pictures mean the world because you love shines through!!!!
  12. Hey everybody! I've been enjoying reading the posts w/ Aunt C & Uncle E (the original dtel's). You guys are like a family, its really amazing. Michael, I am so excited to meet you and have you photograph our wedding. I told them that although you guys want a few days to visit and have speaker system talk, we all want to hang out with you as well. I just hope you aren't too freaked out by all 9 of us living here. Its a laugh a minute, and the most fun I've ever had. So, we joke, but its great! You'll have fun, I am sure of that. Oh, and if we pick on you, just know you fit right in and love you like one of our own. We tend to adopt people as members of our "freak show." Sad that I'm from St. Bernard and I never really acquired a taste for seafood, however, Bush's House of Seafood is very good. There is a lot to do while in NOLA and I just hope you see in this city what we've all known and loved, and leave out the parts that aren't so loveable. Oh, and congrats on your new position at Klipsch, that's so cool! I understand we'll be meeting more of the Klipsch peeps over the holidays ..... can't wait! And if Uncle E & Aunt C can "educate" me about the speakers and Klipsch lingo, we might even tag along to Indy with them. I heard the AR trip was out of this world. And not just because of their grand prize Cornwall III's.
  13. OK, jes, wanna add any more people? I think everyone might get sick of the rapidly multiplying dtel's. dtel dtel's wife dtel's daughther dtel's future son-in-law dtel's niece dtel's baby girl
  14. Reporting for dtel & wife, they are alive and well - in a great state of shock. Aunt C (Christy) was seriously excited when she called last night, her and uncle E (Elden) were sooooo thankful and thrilled to no end. Here at the dtel ranch, we cannot wait for the new speakers either!!!!!
  15. Wow, what an experience, sounds like a great time!
  16. Well, we can excuse that as saying too many long nights at Oktoberfest. I must say, some things are unforgettable, and there are some worth forgetting. How did you like Germany?
  17. dtel's wife told me to let you know that they personally thanked ms. barbara for you. she didn't know what thread it was originally posted on, but whichever one it was, please pass this message on for her.
  18. Aunt C, I feel a nola trip coming on!!!! Let's make a plan to do it, seriously. Like actually make plans and follow through.
  19. Yeah, she'd definitely lose the whole box. She couldn't find her driver's license for two days and when my fiance found it in the dryer, her coverup was "oh, yeah, I knew that, I left it in there" - so you have a box, she has a Whirlpool. []
  20. You sound a lot like dtels' daughter, who never knows even an approximate location of driver's license, keys, wallet, debit card.
  21. I must say, I agree. To an extent. If the person you love wants to buy you a boulder for your finger, go for it! Or, if you have a diamond flake, that's fine too. The increasing size of the diamond does not equate to a bigger or better love for one another. But, in this case I know what the ring symbolizes. They have lived an awesome life full of unforgettable memories together, beautiful kids, and they feel blessed, this I know. However, having 3 kids one year apart, working extra hours, juggling bills, and going without to make sure the kids have what they need is something everyone does. They have never asked for much as parents, and have given all they have for family and kids. That ring is something they bought just for them, no longer having to stress about money or kids. It symbolizes the second phase of their marriage, love, life, and the pursuit of Bourbon Street!!! I should be so lucky as to have half the marriage and life stories as they do when I start my married life this December. Which is why we wanted them to renew their vows, hoping some of their experience and bs-handling skills will be transferred via osmosis.
