  10. IMHO , A triode in the bass is not recommended is preferable to use a SEP (6550, KT88) in the midrange 300B , the Klipsch Lascala is optimal for midbass (70 Hz), My configration with set amps 6550 bass, 300B mids and 71A in high frecuencies.
  11. I just bought these Klipsh K22-K woofer on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390170009436&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT I use it in a 3.5 ft3 sealed box, compression driver tweeters Selenium DX 250 and t EV-35, I thought initially cut with an active crossover 720Hz Woofer Midrange 720Hz-6K Tweeter: 6K I thought in the Dayton H812 horn http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=270-304 Thanks in advance for the suggestions

  15. What impedance filter? with the 300B, thanks The experience I have had with the 300B I think it is limited to that driver uses to excite the 300B, triode or pentode, driver is currently 6L6 or KT66, RC circuit 6SJ7 as triode drive 6L6 as triode drive 300B, Best regards
  16. Hi Guys, IMO I think it is not necessary to use a preamplifier with Set amp, directly to CD, I used a line stage Cary and other 6SN7 done and what I prefer directly from the CD or connected to a phono preamp. I think the most important thing for Set amps is to have very sensitive speakers.
  17. Thanks Sati, The US Military designation is VT-25 military version of 10Y http://www.vacuumtubes.com/10.html
  18. Hi, I did not understand your question to which you are referring about the VT-25, thanks, Martin
  19. Hi Guys, I have some Sets 2A3, 300B, 45, VT-25, each with his qualities, Set class A different sound that PP is a matter of taste, I personally prefer the Set, IMHO 2A3 sound more balance on full range than 300B Not as sweet as 300B in mid-range, but more balance on high and low with good bass. VT-25 I only say WOW great sound, very balance on full range with excellent high range and bass too. 45 is a great tube with deep bass. I think 300 is very good only in mid range (female voices in jazz) . My next project 71A, Thanks and good luck (Sorry fr my bad english It isnt my mother language)
  20. Hi Joe, I have the 2A3, 45 and 300B amps. Hello, everything depends on your taste, your ear, personally I prefer the 45 and 2A3 on 300B. I have Set Utopia Audio and love the 45 and 2A3, The 2A3 is excellent very balanced in all range bass, middle and louds 300B is excellent in middle and bass, with body and presence . The 45 are magic. Good luck, Martin www.utopiaudio.com
