  1. Hi Mike, What Cayin Amp are you considering and what CDP are you using? A couple of months ago when I picked up my new Heresy III I had the opportunity to listen to them connected to a Cayin A88T tube amp and a Cayin CDT-17A tube CD player. To my amazement these Heresy III sounded totally different to when I had them hooked up to my Denon 5803. It sounded like there were Subs in the room, I couldn't believe the depth and loudness of the bass, neither could the store manager. The sound was floor to ceiling and wider than the room with absolute detail and you couldn't detect where the speakers were placed. After hearing them connected to the Cayin Tube Amp you might decide you dont need a sub. ATM I have them hooked up to a Onkyo SR701 and using a M & K V75 sub and they sound good but nothing like when they were connected to the Cayin tubes. So it looks like its tubes for me in the near future. Is anybody on the forum using Cayin amps or CDP? Regards Skeg.
  2. My amp normally sits on the floor, this was when I was demoing the new HERESY III at home and I needed the extra space. Make sure someone gives you a hand to lift the sub as it weighs just over 40kg and a arkward shape to pick up.
  3. I'm running 2 Velodyne CHT15's in my H/T. They are a great sounding sub with plenty of low deep bass, I'm very happy with their performance. Make sure everything is nailed or glued down because it will shake your house to pieces. Let us know what you think of it after you listen to it for a while. Skeg.
  4. The last Academy on Ebay sold for US$503.00 with 28 bids............................................................................................................................................................ . http://cgi.ebay.com/Klipsch-Academy-Center-Channel-Speaker_W0QQitemZ260132931343QQihZ016QQcategoryZ14992QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  5. I would buy 2 Heritage centre speakers in black if they were available. WHAT IS THE E.T.A ON THESE SPEAKERS???
  6. The height of the Heresy III without the riser is 21 7/16" or 542mm.
  7. $406.83 with less than 18 hours to go.
  8. I have had my new black Heresy III's for a month now hooked up to a Onkyo SR701 and a M&K V75 sub with very pleasing results but a bit thin on bass without the sub. I had the opportunity to hear the H III connected to Cayin A88T tube amp and a Cayin CD17A tube CDP when i bought them, WOW, NO sub required when the H III are powered by these tubes. I'm hoping to buy a tube amp around Christmas.
  9. It's up to $305 with 1 day 13 hours to go. Should be as interesting to watch as the 60th Khorns auctioned early this week. Buy it now seems cheap at $175.
  10. I have the same problem as you, I can't fit a heresy as a centre channel in my system with major work to my Hi-Fi cabinet. It is unbelievable that Klipsch don't make a convensional sized Heritage centre channel to match the Heresys and Cornwalls, I would definitely buy one as would other Heritage owners who run HT. The chances of picking up a 2nd hand black Academy in good nick here in Australia is almost zero and the centre channel speaker i'm using ATM doesn't match the Heresys at all. I to have thought of making a custom Heresy centre but didn't know what woofers would be most suitable. So when Klipsch start making a Heritage centre again they can send the first black one to Australia. Regards Skeg.
  11. Let me guess.... a large glass jar with a Klipsch logo on it, to put your pennies in. But my pennies will get wet! I hope you don't mind but I have to use that pic as my new Avatar because that is me to a T.
  12. You will also have to go into the receivers menu and turn surround back to OFF.

  15. Another pic of the Heresy II and III.
