OK, it's official...I have an ACADEMY!!! Thanks to Dave, who responded to my whining, I have a beautiful black Academy perched atop my 58-incher. Got it yesterday, and stayed up way too late enjoying it. The difference is amazing...it is seamless with my Chorus II's and Forte II's... Moral of the story: If you've been thinking of giving up the search for an Academy - DON'T! Well worth it! Second Moral of the story: Klipsch forumites are the best!

Luchenback BIDDING on an Academy???? wait...let me get up off the floor... oh, and Mike...regarding your question about Fortes and Chorus'...if I had to choose one, the Chorus would win, hands down. Yeah, the Fortes have the bigger bass, but the whole package with the Chorus is unbelievable! Close your eyes and you're there... and that's why the perfect setup (for me - IMHO) is Chorus II mains and Forte II rears...tremendous soundstage and no sacrifice in bass.

Believe me, when, not if, but WHEN I get my Academy, I'll definitely let you know if it lives up to it's reputation. Although I'm pretty sure it will. See, last year I was hellbent on using a Forte II as a center, and I actually passed on an Academy...but my best bud got it, and is using it with his setup, which is identical to mine. When I realized I didn't have the room to use a Forte, I of course begged him for his. Can you believe he told me no?! So it's back to the search!!! and yeah, I saw the newest on eBay...looks a bit beat up... Bev

jhawk... my system is alot like yours... Chorus II's in front, Forte II's in back, Optimus Pro LX5 Linaeum's for FX... all I'm missing is the Academy!!!! I was soooo certain I was going to use another Forte II as a center, that I actually passed on an Academy once...I am sooooo kicking myself for that now!

Well...if it's any consolation, I think a fellow forum Klipschite got the eBay academy...and I'm glad he got a good deal, however, I couldn't resist emailing the seller and telling him I would've paid more than $300!! Hey y'all! First & foremost...I've been dealing with only intermittent internet access, so I haven't been able to be around as much as I'd like...I miss y'all!! Second...I'm looking for an Academy...any finish... (Kev, I HATE I missed yours...) I'm finally to a point where I can upgrade my center...and I can't think of anything else to use with my Chorus II and Forte II's... oh, I thought about another Forte II as a center, but it just won't work with my room... anyway...keep me in mind if you decide to part with one, or run across one... I also share your dislogic...everytime I can do an upgrade, I fall in love with the system all over again, and must do more!
