  1. I hope your still enjoying you Velodyne F1500R. I ran a cross a F1800R and it hits levels you wold not believe!! Link (great guy!) on this Forum sold me 2 of his KG 5.5s to go with the other ones I had and it's better then the theater!!! AL.
  2. Well, after having the Academy center channel hooked up I can say it has got to be the far best I've ever heard! It really works well with the KG-5.5 and KG-2.5 in the system. If you want the best center channel for a large system and see an Academy for sale grab it because the don't make like this any more! AL.
  3. Any thoughts on this one (link)..... http://www.avtechsolutions.com/he_vstv1100.htm AL.
  4. I don't understand the 2.4/5.8 thing. The 2.4 was suppose to be one of the clearest signals then I find microwave ovens, cell phones, wireless computer transmissions interfear with the signal at 2.4. Why is there only one manufacturer marketing a 5.8 model (Terk)? Is a 5.8 a better option? Is there less on this wave length? Many questions I know but this is not my area of expertise, AL.
  5. Bruce, thanks for your follow up! How much is the system that you would recommend? AL.
  6. Well, I have not got much input on this post. Anyway, I did find a nice Academy in black for $238.00 (hope I bought it right, price wise). I played a 5.1 sound track with my KG-5.5 towers (main) and KG-2.5 (rear surround) and it didn't really seam like a total mis-match to me, in fact seem to do well, anyone else? AL.
  7. Bruce, thanks for your follow up! As far as $$$$, some thing reasonable under $200.00. I have seen the devices boost the signal for A/V cable going over 100 feet. I thought about going that route but blowing anothe hole in a concrete block foundation in some thing I'm trying to avoid. The signal only needs to go 30 feet, AL.
  8. I need some good input on a I thought would be an easy problem but finding it to be challanging. I need to transmit a A/V signal a short distance in my attached garage. I tried a 2.4 GHz Radio Shack A/V transmitter/sender and at times has big time interferance via wireless phones, internet, and microwave ovens. Does anyone offer a reasonable priced A/V system that works in the 5.8GHz range? I have seen the RF Link AVS-5811 ( 5.8GHz) and read many problem with this model as far as failing shortly after put in to service and performance issues. I did many internet searches and have seen nothing but RF Link being offered. Are there any other systems to send two audio (L&R) and one video signal at 5.8GHz? Thanks in advance, AL.
  9. I have a pair of KG-5.5 and KG-2.5 surrounds driven by a Pioneer Elite VSX-09TX and a matching Pioneer Elite Pro 60 big screen TV. I have a KG-2.2V as a center channel and I'm looking into a KLF-C7 or a Academy for a larger center stage. Has anyone matched a KG-5.5 to a KLF-C7 or a Academy as a center channel. I have a post like this on home audio forum as well, Thanks, AL.
  10. I have a pair of KG-5.5 and KG-2.5 surrounds driven by a Pioneer Elite VSX-09TX and a matching Pioneer Elite Pro 60 big screen TV. 11. A excellent choice for the KG-5.5 is a Pioneer Elite VSX-09TX. I have two of these and they seem to work really well with the KG-5.5's. I know it is a 5.1unit and still works well on two channel mode.
  12. Excellent! Thanks for your follw up! Were you happy with the product? Did you see my Cerwin Vega! HED? I'm lookin in recovering the grills again and found this.......
  13. Has anyone seen any quality black woodgrain vinyl tranfer that has emossed woodgrain in it? I've seen this used on some Cerwin Vega! subs, Thanks, AL.
  14. Does anyone make the grill cloth for the KG-5.5? Any pictures?
  15. Okay. another question on Klipsch K-85-K horn tweeters. I'm looking into "doing a STL" and building a center channel but not to the huge level! BTW, STL, nice job on your center channel! I bought a set of K-85-K horn tweeters and saw the plastic front part is removable, if the plastic front part is removed can the main driver be idenified? Is there something stamped on the driver part? The reason for the question is I want to make sure the K-85-K driver is correct and not switched out with another driver.
  16. I think I answered my own question, it looks like the are not attached to the grill so they are attached with out pins, AL,
  17. How are the grill badges attached to the grill on the KG-5.2 model?
  18. I thought the same thing untill I tried it and I had no feedback or noise at all. I guess it's far enough away where it's not a problem, AL.
  19. Not a problem, I will post them later today. Sorry for the delay got a little side tracked with some other things I needed to do. BTW did you read the short story on how I got them and the trouble to track down the second set? AL.
  20. I did the fan install and it is quiet at lower speeds and even at higher rpms it's still more quiet than what I had, AL.
  21. Well, I got the S-Flex fan and you can not hear it run at low and med speeds, and at high speed it is still more quiet then the Windy Willy fan I got off of Ebay, AL.
  22. Well, looks like my first post got deteted so here is an up date. I bought a Windy Willy fan off Ebay and I could hear it running a cross the room at low listening levels so I looked in to a new 3 wire PC fan. The 3rd wire was for the speed sensor that I will not need. Will be using a 5 speed 12V DC transformer and the new fan I bought is silent. It's labled S-Flex model SFF21F (high speed). This motor is a good choice if noise is an issue, AL.
