Is there any facts to back up that the more exspensive caps are better or is it a personal sound preference ?

What would be a good film-foil polypropylene cap to use and what would be a good polysteyrene cap to use as a by-pass?

I need a 6.2 and a 39 and could not find that value Auricap so I guess I will look at some other high end caps to find the value I need. Thanks

It is a APT-50 Eminence Super tweeter .I made a few pairs for some Heresy 1 's that I rebuilt.They are directional but sound ok for the $75. for the pair of tweeters and the brass plates and they look kind of cool. Not sure if it is the driver Bob uses on his CT-125s

The design has Solen caps used with the by-pass caps.What would you replace the Solen caps with?

I did read further down that he was not sure if they needed to be there or not.

The reason I ask this question is as I stated earlier I am building a pair of ALK crossovers for my Heresy 1's and was wondering why a by-pass 1. uF was being used with the Solen 39 uf and the Solen 6.2 cap in the design of this network.

What is the differance between a by-pass capacitor and a regular capacitor in a crossover?. I am building a pair of ALK crossovers for my Heresy's .

I have a Monster Cable box that runs multi speakers on one channel.I am running 2 pair of Heresy's,series 1 & series 11, and 2 pair of KG4's. I have found that the KG-4's make up for the lack of bass in the Heresys.I could get another Monster Cable box and run each one with a amp?

I have three Crown Com-Tech 200 power amps that I want to combine the power of two.Is this possible or not to connect them together to produce double the watts per channel? I want to connect two of these and use my Kenwood KR 9600 as a preamp. I have one hooked up now but doesn't have the punch as the 160 watts the receiver normally has as the Crown amps are 110 watts only.

What can be used to clean the controls on this vintage EQ to get the static out when I am adjusting the frequencies?

Is the model # 2510 or 2512? 2510 is a 10 inch?

I have a pair of Heresy 11's but not sure I would want to spent that much for the upgrade as I am ok with the tweeter and the mid on my Heresy 1's I was looking for a mod. for the bass only .I have built some cabinets that the Heresy's will slide into and I have my KG-4's on top of them and that is a great help for the lack of bass in the Heresy1's. Thanks

What can be done to The Heresy 1's bass to bring it up to the new Heresy 111's bass or get it close? "Heresy 1 with type E crossover with CT-125 tweeters, K-22's and K-55-M and new caps in the crossover ,Sonicaps"
