If the woofers are visibly OK and functioning, and the caps are not leaking oil, I would leave them alone.

The 15 does stand for a 15" woofer. Early on a few were built with 12" woofers. Without reviewing 100's of pages of records in detail, it appear at first glance that none were done after about 1963. I've never seen one.

To see previous and current transactions, I would recommend monitoring https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/forum/63-garage-sale/, as well as eBay. We have mid-50's stock Khorns playing in our visitors Center. They always impress, so 1969 should be, at the least, "respectable". Considering that new ones are $18,000, I wouldn't think they should go for less than $2000 each, assuming they are in good condition. But current value is not my forte (pun intended).

397 and 398 shipped 23 Aug 1962. The logbook does not indicate destination. It appears that the drivers are original, or at least "as shipped". The logbook reflects a change in nomenclature from SP12B to K-22 in October of 1960. Likely the same driver with the addition of a Klipsch label. The component price lists also begin to refer to "K-22" in 1960. When the Heresy came out in late 1957, the K-ortho-12 compliment of drivers was in place for some Shorthorns. These were likely brought into Heresy service initially.

35R847 shipped 2/17/77 to Audio International in Germany. The woofer is an "unauthorized" replacement, and the tweeter is a newer "authorized" replacement.

Sorry, but that logbook has been AWOL for years. I have never seen one with two HF's. The HF cabinets may not be stock. Do they both contain the same components?

Virtually all LaScalas prior to the current version are birch plywood. Some were stained.

The Archives has not yet revealed a lot on Klipsch kits. The Rebel series was the first to involve kits. Attached is possibly the first magazine ad for a Shorthorn kit.

We do not have the logbook covering 1964 when these shipped. In late 1963 the driver complement was very consistent: K33J woofer, K55V mid, K77 tweeter, and W6 network. Naturally as "curator", I lean to restoration to stock components. Our 1954 and 1957 "pair" at the Museum's visitors center never cease to amaze.

I am not aware of records on salesmen's samples.

The Chorus II ran from 1990 - 1996. It would have less distorted bass as well.

The size (6X8) does not jive with anything in the Archives so far discovered. PWK was a huge fan of education in general, so it is conceivable that he gave a one-off copy to a school library. Am most anxious to see any evidence on this. BTW, the earliest price sheet in our collection with a LaScala listed is 1966. The price at that time was $470 each.

Could be grill designations. Totals by wood would require going thru the paper logbooks line by line.
