  1. Well i accidentally depressed the cone of the midrange on my front left satellite. I just wanted to see how soft it was and was expecting it not to lose its round shape, but i poked it and it is now flat, I didn't know that it was made of paper. How would that affect the sound? and what are the charges for a replacement satellite if u can get one....thank you ------------------
  2. I dunno what my neighbour's room dimensions are, he was the one who said that...
  3. from a neighbour that the music is too loud and it feels like the walls are caving in they are vibrating so much. thank you Klipsch.
  4. Since we're talking about the bass that disappears at higher volumes here is what i wrote in another post: "I can say for certain that its got nothing to do with sub placement, i got my 4.1s today and i been toying with them all day, all kinds of games/music, the sub has a darn strict limiter, at lower volumes the sub does shake my walls and flutter my clothes, BUT the moment the volume reaches the half way point, the sub cuts down on bass drastically and it does sound weaker, all of a sudden u begin to think where did all that bass go. Gamersdepot quoted: "Our only complaint is with limiter that Klipsch has kept in place that limits the amount of power this system will produce from the subwoofer. Of course Klipsch would have us believe that this is a feature, although Im not so convinced. If indeed it is a feature, it would suggest that its a good thing. If it is such a good thing why dont they have the limiter in the 2.1 system?" Is there any way we can remove the limiter?

  6. 1) Digestion. Yes, it helps digest your food, sit down at your computer after a full meal and let the bass send vibrations to your tummy. 2) Massages, enuff bass to vibrate every muscle in your body, close your eyes, hold onto your seats and try to relax. 3) Hair dyers (sub only), put your face to the driver in the boom box and the air flow will have your hair dry in no time (caution it could leave bald as the oomph factor of the bass is known to make hair fall out). Any more post em here....

I can say for certain that its got nothing to do with sub placement, i got my 4.1s today and i been toying with them all day, all kinds of games/music, the sub has a darn strict limiter, at lower volumes the sub does shake my walls and flutter my clothes, BUT the moment the volume reaches the half way point, the sub cuts down on bass drastically and it does sound weaker, all of a sudden u begin to think where did all that bass go (and klipsch says "all your bass are belong to us") so i guess they won't let us have more bass then what these speakers can produce.
  9. Hehe, i thnk Fawwaz is on crack, Salam Fawwaz. Any way, there is some crackling when i change the volume, this is especially prominent when i have my discman input to the main speaker....any how, they shake my room.
  10. The 4.1's are significantly better then the 4.2, the 4.2 satellites are only 35 watts each while the 4.1 are 60 watts (that's a,most twice as loud), at half the volume of 4.1 u are already hearing the max output of what the 4.2 has to offer, then again with the subs, the 4.1 has 2 drivers (160 watts) while the 4.2 has 1 (130 watts). the main difference is the sub placement, if u have one behind u then u got a unit that can pick up all the low frequencies in the rear and also give u rumbling from behind, pretty cool if u ask me for 3d sound shooter games or movies.
  11. Soundcity got them in stock, i thnk they got more than they needed on back order. so call in and check with customer service to see if they got any spare sets not sold yet.....i am getting mine on tuesday/wednesday (13th/14th march), after 3 weeks of waiting from soundcity. me spins giddily like the smiley. www.soundcity.com
  12. Give me your Sirroco Crossfires for the UK price and i will give u my promedias 4.1 for the US price....seriously. Our shipping costs should equal out, so no need to worry about shipping charges.
  13. Anyone know how I can check the status of my order the orders that I have placed with them? i have tried almost every link, but none of them leads to my account login. Thanks
  14. Its the soundcard, there are lots of frequencies being thrown about within the case of some of these get interpolated with your sound signals, thus the "junk" is also heard, even my headphones hiss slightly when i turn their volume up more than half. Its normal, nothng to do with the speakers, u would also hear hiss in home theatre set ups when the volume is really loud and nothng much is going on screen, the hiss is always there, just not audible at lower levels.
  15. I don't agree with Fawwaz. 1) Klipsch only released the new 4.1 because of ppl whining about the previous set's static and hiss, and thus the company just took a step to mend the problems that persisted. Those speakers were the measuring stick against which all the future speakers were going to come out. Even tho it had its flaws, they were still top of the line. 2) the CP-1 amp is for $50, and that comes included with the new 4.1 set, if it wasn't there then it would have been $250. so to say that they are the same speakers for $300 is bullshit. do that math, $250 + $50. 3) if u thnk that Klipsch is cheating you, think again. Paying $250 for comp speakers is like paying $2000 for surround speakers for your hi fi theatre system. you just don't dish out that kind of money without putting some research into what u are buying. I have known about the 4.1 since the day they were rumored to come out. So i just waited. 4 months you freak. add another cuz every online site is OOS. 4) How about TNT 2 ultra vs TNT 2, they are both EXACTLY THE SAME CHIP, but are priced different, why? cuz one is overclocked and only hardcore gamers will dish out the extra moola to get more FPS. They don't care, stop whining if u thnk YOU are being ripped off. Don;t buy it. 5) as far as your story about SB live and gamer and all that.....how old was the SB Live b4 they decided to come out with the new cards? i am sure at least a year old. You really thnk that creative would hold an edge in the market if it were to produce the same card for years, they sell enuff in the first place to cover all their costs and make more than enuff to sell the new cards for the same price. ANd besides all those upgrades are trivial, some software package changes, and an added 5.1 Dolby digital input. I don;t need the 5.1 option, and i got all the games that come along with it, so i have no complaints towards Creative. Give these cards a year and they will come out with somethng else, which will be better than the current line, and will sell for the same price. you know what? knowing this why don't u wait a year so the new cards come out, and the prices of these drop, then u can get these for a lower price and be all giddy about it, or u can go on with the endless rants of "how dare they cheat us!? they are selling cards with more features than the last one had, for the same price, and they are the same chips!!" 6) If you were to go out and buy a computer with the pentium 4 processor, only to find out that a month later they are being recalled due to a bug. Boo hoo, you took the chance of getting the best at a premium price and of the first batch, so don;t take your complaints to the manufacturer if they release a new P4 chip with certain enhancements and slightly more expensive, just so that all the flaws have been eradicated and consumers get the best. If you want to be the first, be my guest, but don't complain, cuz being the first doesn't make you special. I got more to say but can't thnk of it, too sleepy, got back from college, but i am sure paragon and seb will agree with me.
  16. Actually there should be an option in your soundcard settings, not the windows sound, but the creative sound lab, any how i got an A3D monster MX300 and there is a setting called X2 stereo where it turns your left side speakers (front and rear) the left channel, and your right side speakers (front and rear) the right channel, if i want i can disable that mode and stick it to just one pair or change them back to 4 speaker surround. its possible, but u have to see your sound card documentation, i always switch to X2 stereo when listening to music, makes a huuuuge difference.
  17. Hey MarkUs1, how do you know u are getting them on March 5th from soundcity? i placed an order there too, this friday 23rd February. they haven't told me when I will be getting them, just that they are on back order and i will get them when my turn comes. Damn it, first 4 months of waiting at klipsch, now they got me on hold, I WANT THEM NOW!!!
  18. I saw on a few sites that the promedia 4.1 speakers were on sale for $279.00 unlike at the klipsch store for $299.99, no disrespect to Klipsch, but why would they insist on that price knowing that other companies are selling them for less? what's the catch? Why would u want to spend more when u can save $20?
  19. http://www.excitestores.com/emerald/ipage?ali=yes&SID=30452&type=products&template=simple-product.pgt&numbers=727 i ordered mine, hopefully they ARE the new ones....with the crossover...
  20. Oh no, I wasn't talking about the review units at gamersdepot, infact i am now going to purchase them based on the review. I just want to make sure that the online retailers have the newest ones...great review btw...
  21. THE WAIT IS OVER!!!! 4 months of freaking waiting. any way, lets say they do have the newest 4.1 set, other than the Cp-1 amp attached to them, how can we make sure that they have the new corssover set up? is there a serial number or somethng? does it say on the box? in the manual? i will order a set the moment its confirmed yes they have the latest.
  22. Amy is so sweet. She never loses her cool. Very professional. If someone knows of a post where she just let it all out, please let me know, i want to see the other side of Amy. =)
  23. Yea i am just cranky cuz i been waiting for 4 months without any speakers....really grumpy now....saved up and everythng...but no speakers, no siree, they got to bring out another updated version of the speakers...any way what i meant to say was WHY BUY THEM NOW?? with all the talk of the new ones coming out by the end of this month, most probably, why??? why? why?
  24. sorry to say that the ones u bought are obsolete and discontinued, so is the Cp-1 amp... http://www.klipsch.com/store/product.asp?dept%5Fid=1&pf%5Fid=019 thats what we have all been waiting for
