  1. Klipsch ROCKS! I just got my new amp back and am up and runnig again. Everything was covered by Klipsch and my sub is 3 years old. I am happy to see a company still willing to stand behind a product even out of warranty.
  2. Great game so far just getting in to it....airport level was a shocker.
  3. I have things set up this way. Mains - 80 Center - 90 Rear - 100 Not meaning to be a jerk...but my system is fine and works well for me yet the original question was about the Transformers Blu Ray and at this point I am done defending my system and how I choose to use it...sorry Have seen this disc a few times now and its in the soundtrack I am sure of that now. I guess when a movie's storyline doesnt hold my attention I tend to focus even more on the soundtrack then what I would normally do. Not saying its a bad movie..its good for what it is. My kids love it.
  4. Is this a serious question? Are you familar with the Denon recievers?
  5. I am 16 ft back from the mains and they are 13 feet apart. My speakers are all set close to zero except the left main that is at +1 and one of the rear surrounds is +1/2. The sub is at -2. These are what Audyssey's choose and what I agree sounded the best for my theater room. I have ran the program multiple times and it usually comes with the same results. I guess I have a hard time understanding why you would be at -8 or -9? I have always felt that you should be close to zero and adjust from there. Interesting what one might find acceptable and yet someone else can have a different view and it works for them. Like Wuzzer said I think the sound I have been hearing is part of the soundtrack. I guess it’s just me being too picky as I have been told I do too often many times. Let us know what you think of the Denon 2010 its on my list of must haves.
  6. RockOn4Klipsch I posted this earlier. "When the Transformer logo slams on the screen at the intro both of my mains sound like they are distorting. Can anyone see if they hear this as its the same sound I heard a few times in the movie also. Watching right now will report back...thanks for everyones help."
  7. I am almost certain its the soundtrack as I just watched a little of Master and Commnader and all sounds fine...I have had this setup for over a year now and all has been fine until I watched Transformers 2. I have to say its not a very good story line kind of boring flick.
  8. Ok so been busy but sorry for the delay... When the Transformer logo slams on the screen at the intro both of my mains sound like they are distorting. Can anyone see if they hear this as its the same sound I heard a few times in the movie also. Watching right now will report back...thanks for everyones help.
  9. Will do. The Denon 3808 has Audyseey and I am using what it choose for speaker levels just the right speaker is at +1 further away from sweet spot. I guess I am suprised I am not hearing this on other movies?
  10. slope? I guess I never really understood how that worked. They are 8" wooferes but still the same I would guess. The distortion we heard was not in the bass heavy area's but when the over all sound depth was heavy/complex. I am going to watch it again tonight and get a description of the 2 parts I heard it in. My wife didnt notice either time but she doesnt catch much of that stuff.
  11. I am running the fronts on large at 100hz. I guess it could be that but it didnt sound like woofer distortion to me. I would think they could handle such a low volume setting but I have been wrong before. Yea the sondtrack does really impress.
  12. We sat down as a family last night to watch the new Transformers 2 movie on Blu-ray. It ended being an audio workout for my system at some points. A few times I thought I heard a fluttering like sound of distortion coming from my mains. Did anyone else notice this? Its a bass heavy movie to say the least. I know the first one had a few spots with less then par souund and was hoping thats what I heard. I guess I feel I am not one who cranks it up but maybe I am. I set the volume on my Denon -27 and most speakers are +1 at the most as well as flat bass and treble settings. Is this to much? When we demoed at the dealer he set it at -3 for the moive CARS and that was way to loud for me. Sorry for the rambling....
  13. I just picked up the standard def version and it doesnt have DTS as an option just DD. Is there a standard def dvd with DTS? It does have a Thailand language option i dont think i have seen that before.
  14. I wish I had saved the coin and went with bookshelves after finally listening to them just recently. I never even considered them (RB-81's) as an option when I bought my stuff earlier this year. The amount of room the 82's take up, steeper price tag and when compared to the 81's in the sound they put out I don't think 82's are worth it to me.
  15. We watched National Treasure 2 last night in HD from XBOX Live the sound and picture we awesome. The only draw back was a very long DL time.
  16. Do you think the days of hard copy DVD and Blue Ray rentals are numbered. Maybe 5-10 years? Its going to be interesting to see were this will take us entertainment wise.
  17. Netflix streaming coming to Xbox 360 this fall. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25680004/
  18. I am using a Denon 3808 it does great for HT and ok for Music. I was surprised at how much it can do video and audio wise, it runs my whole system.
  19. A few pics from the Ellis Blvd area in Cedar Rapids... http://pictures.aol.com/ap/singleImage.do?pid=70f06AGK4AlZOEX*JNUw8j07LOebM8ldXDjtv4xQp5Fd3Ig%3D http://pictures.aol.com/ap/singleImage.do?pid=70f06AGK4AlZOEX*JNUw8j07LJRIByBqHhibv4xQp5Fd3Ig%3D http://pictures.aol.com/ap/singleImage.do?pid=70f06AGK4AlZOEX*JNUw8j07LF3VMjYfqxhzv4xQp5Fd3Ig%3D http://pictures.aol.com/ap/singleImage.do?pid=70f06AGK4AlZOEX*JNUw8j07LCdjK4zP1Xquv4xQp5Fd3Ig%3D http://pictures.aol.com/ap/singleImage.do?pid=70f06AGK4AlZOEX*JNUw8j07LBWptYISEbiYv4xQp5Fd3Ig%3D http://pictures.aol.com/ap/singleImage.do?pid=70f06AGK4AlZOEX*JNUw8j07LE52N8Jy*r6kv4xQp5Fd3Ig%3D http://pictures.aol.com/ap/singleImage.do?pid=70f06AGK4AlZOEX*JNUw8j07LMU0puMDvsusv4xQp5Fd3Ig%3D http://pictures.aol.com/ap/singleImage.do?pid=70f06AGK4AlZOEX*JNUw8j07LHmEgtcORGMvv4xQp5Fd3Ig%3Dhttp://pictures.aol.com/ap/singleImage.do?pid=70f06AGK4AlZOEX*JNUw8j07LBWptYISEbiYv4xQp5Fd3Ig%3D' target="_blank" title="http://pictures.aol.com/ap/singleImage.do?pid=70f06AGK4AlZOEX*JNUw8j07LBWptYISEbiYv4xQp5Fd3Ig%3D">
  20. I have the Denon 3808 and it sounds great.
  21. I would like to get this but my connection speed is only 1024kbps...and I think it might be to slow for a decent quality picture.
  22. Tough decision: Just ordered some Blue Jeans Belden 5000UE speaker wire this morning. Blue Jeans looked to be better quality then the monoprice when comparing Banana plugs. The wire is Belden certified (not sure what that means) and also not made in China like the Monoprice I was told. Its all just wire in the end!
  23. Very true Audyssey does effect it. But when i am listening in stereo i have that off and set to manual and flat i guess it just sounds better to me. I think what's really messing with me is my old Denon was obvious when it was starting to distort but the new one is almost impossible to tell.
  24. Meaningless? It shouldnt be what other reference would I have? I'm not trying to blow ear drums i really just wanted to know when enough is enough on the amp and before it clips my speakers. When i compare this system to other ones (I have had and friends sysyems) its not really that loud in stereo. i have the whole basement to fill with sound so that could be part of it also. I have the sound meter and used it to help set up the theater portion.
