  2. $11,000.00 for a pair of new Khorns. Klipsch displayed the 60th Anniversary Edition of the famed Klipschorn loudspeaker, which sports "many refinements'" in the crossover and to the drivers. There will be only 400 pair produced. Above right is the rear of the cabinet, which inserts into a room's corner and cannot be seen when the speaker is placed. Retail price is $11,000/pair.
  3. MC-352 will accept RCA or XLR input. You can still use your current preamp with RCA's. There are a bunch of preamps with balanced out-most are not fully balanced. McIntosh C-200, & MDA-1000 are all fully balanced. I believe that all of the BAT preamps are fully balanced. I have been using the MC-352 with a passive preamp & Khorns until last week. Just picked up a McCormack ALD-1 preamp using RCA's. Will try running balanced as soon as I pick up a set of cables. Have read that some Mc users prefer the RCA over XLR input. As mentioned the noise difference is supposed to improve running balanced. I think the amount of gain is different between the RCA & XLR which could explain why some like RCA better. Check out www.audiokarma.org there is a McIntosh forum that will fully answer any Mc questions. I sent you a reply to the MC-352 question you asked me from Audiogon.
  4. JTA, You could contact Kimber and talk to them about what you are hearing. http://www.kimber.com/Contact/TechSupport.aspx
  5. Can you tell us the price of the Cornwall III's? Last word from Amy was that they were not a definite production item yet. Your Dealer should be able to get you a spec sheet.
  6. JTA, I power my Khorns with a McIntosh MC352 and the sound is not bright Would like to suggest it could be your cables. Here are a couple of things to try in order to narrow it down. 1. Swap S/E cables instead of BAL to see if any change. 2. Swap out speaker cables to see if any change. 3. Try a PS Audio Ultimate Outlet or UPC-200-plug in the 861 & the MS 300 to isolate the digital. My system is extremely musical with no brightness, yours should sound even better. I firmly believe it is not caused by the speakers or components. If I can answer any questions please email me.
  7. Amy-Please tell the "MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN" to put the Cornwall III into production. I am looking forward to buying two pairs. If they do not go into production can you put me second on the list to purchase a pair of the prototypes. Klipschfully yours!
  8. Using a McIntosh MC352 amp which is the best I've tried for solid state. It is extremely smooth & musical. The soundstage is incredible. It has taken me off of the amp merry-go-round. 2nd best would be Edge Electronics M4-used 500.00 to 700.00 goes great with Klipsch. Have tried tubes and can never get past the noise of tube rush and the care & feeding. Need to have complete silence at idle and between passages. Having said that I would not mind a DEMO of the McIntosh MA2275 integrated-after reading the reviews. Here is my current set-up. Pre-Luminous Audio Axiom Amp-McIntosh MC352 Perpetual Technologies P1 & P3 with Monolithic power supply Onkyo DVD for a transport PS Audio-Power Plant 300-Ultimate Outlet-UPC-200 Revelation Audio Labs-Cables 2000 Klipschorns Best of luck in your amp quest!
  9. Amy or Trey-When will pricing and specs be released on the new Heritage models? Thanks in advance!
  10. erdric, Power Plant is on top of a piece of granite beside my rack. Mine does not get hot. Only using 10 watts-50 watts when playing loud. Sure it depends on what is plugged into it. Check out PS Audio's web site. Am using all four outlets. Edge M4 amp 70wpc Edge Si1 preamp Monolithic Sound power supply-it powers Perpetual Technologies P1A & P3a Marantz CD for a transport. Cornwall II's msrp-$1245.00-you can find it for $850.00 shipped.Still not cheap-but worth every penny. If you ever get a chance to demo one don't pass it up. Will save a lot of time & money spent on the amp & preamp shuffle. I've had Klipsch speakers for over twenty years. Never had the level of performance as I have now with the PS Audio Power Plant.
  11. Just got a PS Audio Power Plant 300 two weeks ago. It has by far caused the most PROFOUND difference in sound coming from Cornwalls that I have ever heard. Was using a MC HT-3500. If you are interested-will sell the 3500 for $150.00 plus shipping.
  12. Thanks for the info! Currently have-2 pairs of K-horns & 2 pairs of Cornwall II's.Yes I have a decibel problem. Going to build a room around my system.Figured I would aquire all of the gear first.Almost done. Have had Klipsch for the last 20 years.Tried many, many different power sources-SS & Tube. Have at last found an amp & pre-amp combo that for my ears is the ultimate-EDGE ELECTRONICS M4 70 wpc. The M4 amp & EDGE pre-amp are extremely detailed, musical & dynamic while being DEAD SILENT between notes & at idle.No more tube rush for me.Liked the EDGE M4 so much I have three of them. Need to buy either an ARAGON stage one or SUNFIRE theater grand processor. Last home set up was- 3 Cornwalls across the front. 2 Chorus surrounds. 2 Definitive Tech. 15" subs YAMAHA 3090 int. amp. Talk about moving air. Still may get the 74 K-horns updated depending on cost.Really do prefer 5 way binding posts. If it is too much-I will sell them. THANKS FOR LETTING ME KNOW THE MODEL YEAR & ALWAYS A PLEASURE TALKING KLIPSCH!!!
