Maybe some muffler strapping would enhance the custom tweeter look.

Make sure there is power at the motor.
If not find out where the problem is (fuse etc...) if yes check the motor and connections.
Good power & connections probably a faulty motor.

Maybe if you filled the whole page with posts you will get more answers.

I use Photobucket myself, download your pictures then just link them where you want.
There are many good alternitives out there too.
Just Google.

While Forte is a great speaker (every week i get together with friends and party to the Forte sound ) the La Scalas are a much better sounding speaker all around in my opinion.
Pinpoint soundstage, mids to make you drool, and highs from the gods.
Only missing is the lows that can be filled by any decent sub.

My Adcom GFA 5500 runs hot too, been that way since new.
Soon its going in for a checkup anyways so i hope nothing is going on with it.

Good Luck, i had many issues with my new 2004 Ford Focus and spent days at dealerships only to get blown off by Ford's independant survey team who not only would not go for a drive to see and feel the problems with the car, after i received a letter from i think from the CEO of Ford Motor Company that there was no issue to resolve and pretty much "piss off"though not in those words.
I will look through my paperwork and find it if i can and post it.
The steering wheel shakes at most speeds and the passenger seat vibrates to the same tune. Its still there after new tires and 70,000 miles.
The door's do not open on hot sunny days, the latch has been looked at and adjusted and lubricated to no prevail. (still there too)!
Loud clunk when backing up on an incline, on the test drive with the assistant shop manager i showed the noise to the man, returned to shop and was told i was hot rodding the motor to make the noise. Now anybody knows when you are starting out on an incline you need to give it some gas or you will stall and need to stop or roll back into the car behind you.
Drivers seat right side is broken and needs to be replaced eventually, this happened after one year and still has not collapsed yet i just drive with the "mean lean"
My big feet get stuck behind the vent to the right of my gas petal, already caused one small accident.
Pros of the Focus handling, fuel economy, peppy, always starts.

There was later fallout from this incidient, brought on by the violence of hopping those high curbs at speed. Mark was tooling about town, minding his own business when he drove over a sharp bump. Both rear leaf springs cracked through and the body fell onto the rear wheels resulting in huge clouds of gray-blue tire smoke until Mark could wrestle the poor thing to a stop.
This, on top of constantly having to deal with Evil Sir Lucas, killed the car. Off to the crusher you go.
Sounds like another quality minded Mopar incident.

You can always downshift to first gear, it wont stop you but i will slow you down.
My Focus has a issue also, there is a vent just to the right of the gas petal that my size 12's get hung up on every so often. Ford says there is nothing wrong with the car even after i showed them what was happening.
No wonder U.S. car companies are going down the tubes, they just dont care about the people who keep them in business.

Thanks for the replies, i will take everything mentioned here into consideration.
Anybody around Chicagoland have a set of these horns hooked up for me to audition ?
-
Right now the crossovers have the Crites updates installed but i figured there may be something that would be slightly better without changing the pinpoint soundstage and awesome dynamics of the overall sound that i have become accustomed to.
-
Very nice craftsmanship, you should be proud.

I can use some opinions on crossover capacitors to compliment my squawker, Using AL3 crossovers on La Scala's

Maybe i will try the rear port setup and see how it goes, i guess the woofer will need to be removed and a hole will need to be cut into the top of the cabinet from what i see correct ?
Would there be a better choice of woofers for the ported cabinet or is the stock K-33 sufficient ? If i need to enter the cabinet anyways i figured to ask beforehand.

Very cool sootshe, nice job on the Lascala's.

Looking for information for possible mods.

Thank you for the schematic Bob.

Bump
Is this question not posted in the right place ?

Looking to replace my aging caps in my Lascala's and was hoping somebody here may have the answer, it looks as if they may have been replaced previously and want to be sure i get the right parts for the job.

I ended up going saturday afternoon due to the bad weather, everything cleared up though and the evening was great.

Don't miss it, starts today @ Grant park.
Just a friendly reminder.

I too ran these speakers for some time and found more lows are produced when they are placed in corners, luckily these belt out sufficient bass no matter where you place them but like was already mentioned just experiment with them until you find your sweet spot.
Great speakers by the way, hope you are enjoying them.

The room is 11x16 with carpeting and furniture.
I will build a custom box no matter what but i dont want huge.
The crossover will likely be set around 50-80 hz

I'm looking to build a nice musical subwoofer to enhance one of my systems and was looking for some advice from forum members on witch route to go.
Have KG4s, looking for more sound, Cornwalls or La Scalas?

Cornwall's and Chorus 2's are great speakers but if you have the room get some LaScala's, they image and sound much better though you will probably need a subwoofer to fill in the lows they are incapable of producing.
