  1. I have to confess that when I said an 8 x 10 room, I was making a feeble attempt at humor, which is not my FORTE. I thought someone would pick up on it and good humoredly [] say I must be living in a cell but I guess not. Actually it is more like 14 x 22. [Y] This is going to be more difficult than anyone could have imagined, I for one can see that. Cut-Throat (pool I hope and not assassin???) makes the good point that a Klipschorn is better than a La Scala or a Belle and maybe even more so with a sub. Perhaps we should disallow adding a sub in the evaluation because then you might get into this whole thing of a VW minibus with a Corvair engine is better than a Beetle (for you fellow children of the Sixties). I understand the philosophy of whatever you like best is the best and it depends on everything else but what I am shooting for is how the lines overlap. I am not looking to overintellectualize this. If you investigate Heritage, I think most people will say the Klipschorn that I am familiar with is better than the La Scala that I am also familiar with. But how do they compare with for example the top Palladium or the top RF series or the top theater line? There's the rub, as Shakespeare used to say. I have found out that Jubilee owners are BY FAR the most sensitive of Klipschheads. No one yet has appeared defensive about an RB or an RF as far as I've noticed.
  2. I heard you were trolling although the idea sounds preposterous. [*-)] How could you have the time?
  3. We will try a list here, subject to much revision: (largely based on J.4knee) 1) MCM-4-T- Grand 2) MWM 3) La Scala / La Scala II with a sub (WHAT SUB?) 4) Klipschorn 5) Belle Klipsch w/ a Sub (WHAT SUB?) 6) Heresy III 7) Heresy I / Heresy II (ALSO VOTE TO MOVE UP RIGHT BEHIND KLIPSCHORN) 8) Cornwall I / Cornwall II / Cornwall III (WHICH CORNWALL MODEL IS BEST?) (VOTE TO MOVE ABOVE LA SCALA AND BELLE) 9) Chorus I / Chorus II 10) Forte I / Forte II (ARE THESE THE ONES THAT ARE LIKE HERESY BUT WITH BETTER BASS?) 11) THX Ultra II (NEWER REFERENCE) 12) RF 7 13) RF 5 14) RF 3 / RF 3 II / RF 35 (SYNERGY II) (SYNERGY) (ICON?) (iPod) (iGroove SXT) (Custom 3?) (Palladium Series?) (ProCinema)
  4. As some of you may have suspected, it is time to reveal a secret identity here: Batgirl is not really Barbara Gordon, mild-mannered librarian, but Amy Unger, Klipsch Management. I trust that you will keep this to yourselves.
  5. I'm Robin but that's the mystery. I think I may have stumbled into a madhouse where if you ask about the founder of Klipsch the thread is padlocked and if you ask about what Klipsch speakers are best you get all kinds of insults.
  6. Assume no budget limitations and enough power to make your ears bleed and a typical 8 x 10 room with 8 foot ceiling.
  7. Say, did you ever get up the courage to play your 50 cent record? Sorry that I lost interest . . .
  8. Your response was fine. My other comments were directed to my fans who follow me around to every thread. Sorry for the confusion.
  9. KG !!! Another model !!! Yet another series too !!! What I am looking for is from best to worst, each Klipsch speaker rated. If you all have nothing constructive to say, don't say it.
  10. Russ, can you explain to me, since you are the only properly behaved person responding, what is with these ******* ****?
  11. I have heard people complain about this and they thought it was throughout the whole line but I didn't think so.
  12. There is a bewildering number of different models some just with letters and numbers. Very very very confusing. I know there are Heritage, RF, RB, Palladium, iPod, Promedia, LCR, Theater, Professional, and more. So where do they all fit in? What is the ULTIMATE? MWMs? Palladiums? Is the best model in one line equal to a medium model in another line?
  13. Obama froze up because he realized he wasn't on the TelePrompter. The same thing happened on his campaign, even though he gave the same stump speech thousands of times. When his TelePrompter would go bad, he couldn't even fake it. He would just stop dead until it was fixed. It's really funny to see people trying to cover for Obama because Roberts said "to" instead of "of" -- nice try but won't wash.
  14. Yes, you are right, that is the better way to do it. Thanks.
  15. Everything else he said was on the TelePrompter. I guess nobody thought he couldn't repeat back a few words in a row at a time.
  16. I heard nothing good about that book either. It totally missed his essence. Thanks for clarifying what the 8 Points is. I will try to digest it on this slow news day.
  17. Doesn't look like any Klipsch there. That would have been a savvy marketing move, you gotta pay to play.
  18. I wouldn't bother with a preamp right now if I were in your shoes. You would be using it as a volume control mostly, and you can do that with your level controls. If you don't mind plugging and unplugging when going back and forth from CD and iPod. If you ever get into records seriously, then it would be a good time to move into a preamp. In the meantime, you could get a little $10 or $20 phono preamp like they have on eBay all the time and that will be okay.
  19. It depends whether you play records or not. What does "tight budget" translate to in dollars?
  20. Thanks for continuing my thread that was ruined by obnoxious shit trolls. What is the 8 card you mention that PWK handed you?
  21. Seems you're the resident expert! I am surprised at that but maybe. [:S]
  22. Your reply is very mean. Are you still smarting because I called you on your preposterous claim that speakers will move around on the floor if they don't have "GRIPPERS" on the bottom? Because otherwise I just flat-out don't get what has made you SO ******* ANGRY! I am not going to blame this on your parents raising you bad because I believe humans are responsible for their own behavior, good or bad. Bad in your case ! ! ! Where is that bug spray ? ? ?
