I had the ct125s first and found them too bright. The ct120s were much smoother to my ears
That is good to hear, no pun intended.

I have them both and love them.
Glad to hear that.
They are on there way.

Figured I would give these a try in my older LaScala's.
Dean built me some nice crossovers so I am set there.
I scanned through here and read what I was able to find and everything seemed pretty positive.
I was going to rebuild the drivers but decided to go this route instead.

Finally in the new house, nightmare after nightmare but that is a story for another time.
I finally hooked everything up today and am listening to my stereo again after 4 months without.
Sounds great and feels even better.
I am listening through my OPPO UDP-205 right now and will finish setting up my turntable tomorrow.
I can't wait to spin some vinyl again!

I have been in Texas as of last Friday and I am sitting next to the 219 IA still in it's box
I have not even opened it yet, I am waiting until we get into a new house, staying with my sister and her husband.
Killing me.

Awesome read, thanks from a lifelong Dead fan.

Gas for sure.
After living with both I would never go back.
The ability to have instant temperature variations from on to off and everything in between is awesome.

You ‘should’ love the amp. I own the 219, paired to cornwalls. Wonderful pairing. Changing tubes will also improve things. Change out the 12ax7’s off the bat, significant improvement. I personally have old smooth plate telefunkens.
We are closing on the sale of our house here in Colorado on the 12th of July and then we are on our way to Arlington Texas where the amp is sitting idle, the wait is driving me nuts.
I was thinking Telefunkens would be my choice from past experience but I will listen for a while first to see which direction I want to take the sound.

Just purchased this to try with my LaScala's.
Unfortunately I wont hear it for a month or two.
Wont even see it until then.
We are in the process of selling our home here in Colorado and moving to Dallas.
I am having it delivered there, so I wont see it until we move.
I am still excited though and wanted to share.

Has anyone here used a step up voltage converter for audio equipment that is from Europe.
If so what effect does it have on sound and which products would you recommend.

The McIntosh arrived today and I wanted to share a few photos. The vendor suggested I relocate the components to a new spot to shorten the speaker wires and to provide better air circulation. I just listened to The Beatles White Album and can tell the bass is more pronounced than with my vintage Knight tube amp. And I can tell the bump from 15wpc to 105wpc. I am not too verbose about audio but I like this McIntosh. Also, I think it is beautiful!
I hope to read more about your thoughts when you have spent some time with it. It is beautiful.

I recently purchased one and am waiting on it to arrive. The vendor in North Little Rock will deliver to Hot Springs and set it up. Never had any McIntosh equipment so I am pretty excited. Going to use this with Industrial LaScalas and a modified vintage AR turntable. This 2 channel setup is in my workshop which is new, clean, dry and insulated but doesn’t currently have heat and air. I do have natural gas run to it so I will likely install a small gas heater before next winter. Would you worry about using the McIntosh in this environment? I am currently using a vintage Knight tube amp and just cover it up with a light blanket when not in use.....seems to work ok.
Would like your impressions when it arrives.

Yes, my local Mcintosh dealer had/has one. Looked pretty cool, sounded good, but not dramatically different than other integrateds or separate combos I've heard.
Nice product or just average sound?

Has anyone heard one of these yet?
Interesting product at a reasonable price, for McIntosh.

Loved that show also.
So young.

Canadian SET monoblocks. Uses the 845 tube. About 18 watts.
They ceased production some years back.
I still occasionally see pairs on the Net.
I've been considering getting one of the Line Magnetic LM-518ia 845 based amps to compare with the CazTechs.
The LM-518ia is high on my list.

To me, whatever audio path any of us takes is OK as long as we are listening to more wonderful music.
Agree.

With the LaScalas I have read, on here I believe, that there is a large variable in the impedance curve.I am very interested in SET amps but want to know what works and what doesn't from those who have tried. I think big iron is very important with low power SET amps, as well as other tube amps I suppose.
There are so many choices out there and it seems almost everything with okay build quality gets great reviews.
I have spent a bit based on great reviews and I have been disappointed on more than one occasion.
