  1. Mr.Clean Magic Eraser believe it or not.

A small cube, lower the stylus into it gently, a few times and then gently blow on it.[;)]

I have done before and after under the scope and it does better than anything I have ever used or sold.

Only people who bad mouth and create rumors of damage, are the ones who have something to lose, like me, who no longer can justify selling $50 for a tiny bottle Nagaoka fluid, once people find out how well it works.

Careful with any fluid, especially alcohol based, as it can loosen the glue bonding the stylus to the cantilever or if it runs down the cantilever, dry out the rubber suspension.

  2. Oh no, more fuel for the Grant Fidelity machine!

As great as his products may be(or not), as I have not heard them, his dealings and comments on a Canadian Audio Forum, have left many up here with a less than favorable impression of the man and his people skills.

Grant-ed there were a few that provoked him, but the responses were not those of a well balanced man and then he used his Sponsor status, to erase any record of his many off the rails meltdowns, which included very insulting comments to all, not just those whom he was having "issues" with.

Apologies were not issued, even to non-offending parties and he plays like those comments were never made, since there is no remaining record of them to the average, non screengrabbin' public/potential customer.

I hear great things about the gear and don't care about the country of origin, if it is made with quality and workers treated and compensated fairly, by that countries standards.

Believe it or not, I have no major beef with him myself, however fear that positive reviews, may continue to give him the impression that his dealings with the public aren't every bit as important as his products.

  3. Welcome, enjoy the ride down the slippery slope, as I know few people, that once they have experienced the Klipschy goodness, can resist the urge to add to their stable, usually going larger each time.

Just don't get too nutty or you'll end up losing them one at a time, as you try to pay off your student loans, car payments, mortgage, etc.

Klipsch tend to serve a additional benefit, that many are unaware of at first and that is acting as a prospective future wife filter.

If she doesn't mind even the big 'uns, she's a keeper!

  4. Even better, is on a daily basis, having to show kids, where and how to start playing the record(for some reason, from the inside out is always their first guess), how in the world to tell where individual songs start and end, without a display of numbers to aid us and best of all that there is a whole 'nuther side of music waiting for them, after they flip it over!

I don't laugh at 'em much, as I am just as excited as they, are to have generation next, enjoying tracks on wax for the first time, but I blame it on poor parenting, for not teaching their children well.[;)]

  5. Feel free to contact me about doing any graphics work, even just mock ups of ideas you may have to help you visualize them.

I'm not a pro, but that is reflected in my mostly free pricing, especialy to a K-head.

Even trade for the MCM's, call anytime!LOL

  6. It's nice to have what you think was a well informed reseached decision reinforced by others here.

Haven't had enough time with my new Sammy 46", but am enjoying it and the fact others, including those in the biz are recomending it.

  7. VG Plus,so you can have your V for the horns, using the Klipsch style "W" font, the G for your name, the Plus for the service and put all together a reference to grading. VeeGee has a nice ring to it(almost Italian sounding!LOL), V.A.G. sounds good to me to, but for different reasons. ;)

Lemme know if I am the big winner and I'll design a logo for credit in V.A.G....er...I mean VG Plus.

  8. "Nothing wrong with that as linear tracking has its advantages. Records are cut linearly so it does make sense to playback that way. I have often wondered why they all weren't like this from the beginning."

Because when you take $50,000 worth of technology and try and boil it down to a sub $500 unit, sacrifices are made.

When they are working right, consumer level linear is great, but they rarely are and time is not kind to them.

Too many moving and non replaceable parts, constant tweeking, for my liking.

  9. I am a fan of whatever the original mix was and for years thought the only real "magic" recordings, had to be in stereo to have the depth, soundstage, positioning, whatever you call it.

Then I heard a original UK Mono of Kind Of Blue and changed my mind,

Still haven't heard any stereo press that comes close and have listened to just about every issue, from the standard to the high end 45rpm pressings.

Even the great Rudy Van Gelder of Bluenote fame, was mixing down amazing stereo recordings, only using one speaker !

The era of Beatles that most have difficulty choosing Mono or Stereo is not the early material, but when stereo was used to enhance their psychedelic sound.
