  1. Great haul Fini!

Alas, I didn't get any of the exclusives this year, so missed plenty of potential sales and still had to put up with all the phone calls asking if I had them.

Was hoping the weather would have been better today, so I could have brought the LSI's out front and let 'er rip until I was told to cease and desist.

Thank you all who support real stores, with real people who really love music.

  2. Like I can afford a driveway or anything attached to one these days?LOL

    That's the seller's pic.

And of course, now I am chasing a pair of KP 115's with the crossovers for $400.

    Why? Why? Why?

    [:D]

  3. 3. I'd buy a bloody record store.

Some days are better than others, but I thought we were talking about wise investments, that will bring years of pleasure?

Record Stores are for OCD, anti social, Vinyl Junkies like myself that they could no longer function is the real world or work place and still needed a means to feed their ever growing habit as well as themselves on rare occasions.

I wouldn't trade it for anything, but would never recomend it to anyone.lol

    Thank you Sensei Colter.

I shall always be your humble student in the ancient arts of Klipschism.

At least until I get some MCM's and KP 600's!LOL

Wonder if Klipsch kept any records as to how many pro/industrial products were sold in Canada?

  5. [:D][:D][:D][Y]

Picked them up in Oshawa( 2 hour drive) last night.

$600 for the pair( 4 pieces), plus a dead Cerwin Vega A 600( anyone know specs or info on this?).

All used to belong to a band that had a few members move on to play for Avril Lavigne(whoopie!).

Not minty, rode hard, pebble spray worn smooth in spots on the bass cabs, two different eras of jack cups and no matching number series, the aluminum has seen a hard life and one K 77 has been replaced with something else and they just drilled new holes in the motor board for it(argh!).

That said, not a horrible match, but that will be a part to replace.

Pity that the destroyed set of Heresy speakers( proper plural!), that I picked up for spare parts had both k 77's fried on them as well.

However, I am very happy overall and though I haven't popped them apart to give them the whole check up, have the proper fuses instead of tinfoil in them now and they are sounding all good.

The kid that sold them to me, only had them for a few weeks in the garage, said they sounded ok, but already has a Radio ShackRealistic set up for his surround sound, that he is happy with and I wasn't going to question and just loaded them up.

He had done some research, but they were not for him and he was great to deal with, so not saying(out loud) that he didn't know what he was getting rid of.

Now to figure out if they are best used to replace the KP 201's as the centers, or the TOA stacks that are the rears at the moment.

If they replace the centers, I think I may try moving the KP 201's to the side, copying a movie theatre layout with multiple side channels, 2 KP 201's on each side, spaced out.

And hopefully with this set, they will be pressed back into their intended duty as well, which means I'm not going to put too much effort or cash into restoring them.

Hadn't seen too many split w/trim LSI's pop up here before and now on Kijiji.ca there is another set, in better overall condition, but for $1700! So I am happy.

    Yes, photos to follow.

  6. Star light, star bright...

    Wish me luck fellow Klipschkateers!

    Pt. 2

This time split with trim and at a almost too good to be true price, in fact I'll let you know when it is true.

Photos to follow and hopefully I'll have a group pic soon for the House Of Klipsch North Jr. collection.

Working on a new location and if all falls into place, little less space, but still be able to have everything setup and even laid out a little better.

When I don't grow up, I wanna be like Mike!

  7. I think we just found the location for the Kanadian Klipsch Konnection event.

The K.K.K. will meet in...wait that sounds really bad!

    Klipch Organazation Canada, much better.

So a bunch of us K.O.C.'s will get together...er...um [:#]

    Nevermind!

  8. All roads lead to Deeeeeeeeeeeeee?

I know the name Ed Wolfrum well, from another forum I am a regular on, www.soulfuldetroit.com.

Both Ed and Mike McLean worked as engineers for Motown and were responsible for quite a few inovations in recording technology at the time.

Ed invented the D.I. box I believe.

Very cool to once again link a few of my passions together and will have to try and contact him, to learn more about his Klipsch Konnection.

  9. Keep in mind, many of those scammed, also believed they were taking part in criminal activity.

And I have witnessed first hand, that many who are scammed, become scammers themselves trying to sell and recoup their money.

I have seen a couple of honest online ads, but not many.

There is a lesson to be learned here and it has nothing to do with knowing what makes a quality audio product.

  10. It's the neck joint where the coil former / cone and spider connect correct? I would pick up a 5 minute epoxy kit with a syringe / mixing tip, available at Canadian tire. The epoxy will be thick enough not to run right through the semi-porus spider and dribble down the former.

    while you epoxy it.

    :(

Well it was worth a try, but didn't even get to half levels before the glue failed on one side and the spider cracked in a couple of spots on the other side.

I appreciate the advice though and maybe it is just a hit and miss or asking too much of that epoxy with this particular driver/ recone kit.

I had someone more experienced than myself, who does recones/replacement surrounds, but it does look like the 3rd party recone kit is the junk it was described as.[;)]

Might be time to cut my losses on this futile mission, recoup what little I can and just be satisfied with what I have, as I can't afford to keep pushing further(and lower).

To cap off my day, had a great deal on a Crown XTI 4000 fall through too.

    I'll live.
