I have the AU 20000, but am having a issue with my right channel and haven't gotten around to having it serviced.
Once I do, the old Rotel RX-602 will be permanently retired from my KG 4 setup.

Happy with my now outdated MMC-1 Pre/Pro, other than the calibration tone for the Sub, it is a absolute monster freq.

I hope this answers all your questions about General LaScala.[]
Graduate of the military colleges of Naples and Turin, LaScala joined the Italian army in 1881. Commanded a regiment during the Italo-Turkish war (1911-12). In 1914 he joined with General Luigi Cadorna to help reorganise the Italian army in preparation for the First World War. After the Italian entry into the war he served as Cadorna's chief of operations. The disastrous defeat at the battle of Caporetto (24 October-12 November 1917) led to Cadorna's removal, and on 9 November 1917 LaScala was appointed chief of staff. By this time, the front was beginning to stabilize on the Piave river, where LaScala was able to reestablish a stable front line, before devoting himself to restoring the confidence of the nearly shattered Italian army, which he had done well enough to consider the launch of a new offensive in the summer of 1918. However, he soon learnt of the planned two pronged Austrian offensive, and with this advance warning was able to organize his defenses, and repel the Austrian attack (battle of Piave, 15-23 June 1918), having kept an entire army in reserve. He then delayed the Italian offensive until it was clear that the allies were winning on the Western Front. Judging the Austrian army to be close to collapse, he launched his attack along the entire front (battle of Vittorio Veneto, 24 October-3 November 1918), which did indeed cause the collapse of Austrian arms, and forced them to sign an armistice, dictated by LaScala. After the war he served Mussolini as his minister of war (1922-1924), but was forced to retire by ill health.

Anything above $1000, better be in great condition or have something special about them.
Oldenough is right, Vintage Klipsch, with the exception of Heresy's are harder to find in Canada, Pro or Industrial, even more difficult and some split LS in a natural finish has proved impossible.
You will have to decide if that's the right price and brace yourself for when your neighbor has a better set for sale for less, the day after.lol

"I'm pretty sure the PS3 can do 7.1 over optical in either Dolby Digital or DTS, but as I'm sure you know it can't pass the lossless audio (TrueHD, DTS-Master, etc) through optical. "
Sure I know?
I am like Shultz from Hogan's Hero's more and more these days...I know nutink!

So, somewhat set up, but am surprised at what a learning curve this is, after being a audio/tech/manual reading kind of guy for all these years.
Still have to fine tune everything, especially the sub channels, as just when I think I have it sounding right, there is a scene 10 times louder than the rest, sending 2 bridged QSC 1500's into clip and sending me into scramble mode for the volume.
Even the calibration tone for the subs is off the charts at 0db and with the levels dropped, doesn't match the rest of the levels properly.
Trying to figure out if my outboard Ashley crossovers will be better than the onboard for the subs
Still trying to get a lock on all the different modes too.
What happens when you play 5.1 audio on a 7.1 system?
Does it combine outputs or does it take the 5.1 and make it a virtual 7.1?
How bout the other way around?
I am going to keep trying to get everything right, but may end up just going back to the 2 channel, which was good enough to make me curious as to how much better the world of pre-obsolete pre/pro technology could make it.
Can I even do 7.1 when using a optical cable from a Ps3 for the audio?
P.I.T.A. that the HDMI is switch only, doesn't process audio and required me to connect a 2nd video output to the PJ, just to access the onscreen menus and set-up.
As with all gear, better model for less is always out soon after and may have been better off waiting, 'specially since Emotiva has a sale on(of course!).
This has been a humbling experience, as it used to be , I was the one everyone came to "When you've got questions...".

Nice Amy!
Well, but honestly spoken, in the "No [bs]" Klipsch tradition.
Business and industry have changed radically, worldwide and Klipsch is no different.
However, they do seem to have some of the same ideals they started with,
as opposed to companies that just try and make you believe they do care about the products, the customers and the employees.
Or the marketing/PR team is really good at what they do.[]

Congrats, now get back to work on relauncing the pro lines, starting with this for in-ear monitor systems and working your way back to KP 600 and beyond.[]

Sorry I missed you Chris, next time!LOL

These will continue to be on the wish list, anyone know if any made it up to Canada?

Comedic value aside, this is a super tight band!
Wonder if here are some all-stars under wraps there.
WOW!

Not going to be able to hook it up for a bit, as like most of these types of projects, stripping everything down and starting from scratch.
Think I may try switching to front projection, for a variety of reasons, center channel behind screen?, copying Youthman and trying 2.35?lobby/snack stand behind screen?,etc.
I am seeing now, how going from 2 channel to 7.1 is not as straight forward as I thought.
And overall a futile mission, as I may not have this space come March, but I am on a mission.

As of today, I will be qualified to answer my own post.
Now, looking for suggestions for the best Blu Ray title to show off surround in all it's glory.

Blech!
I have turned into a beer snob and the only thing worse than Major Brewery Canadian Soap Water is most of the American beer, but do have many fond memories of MGD and Lonestar.
Corona is still my "lite" beer, but just treat it as a safer form of water with the lime providing me with a rich source of Vitamin C, not beer.LOL
Have a local micro brew spot with a Oatmeal Stout that is a great meal replacement.
Lots of variety and seasonal brews, but I stick with my "Drunken Monkey" for the most part.
I'll have to pop down after work, just to make sure it's still there.[]

Yup, my V 15 III is the only cart I have that tracks the Telarc 1812, not perfectly, but closer than anything else I have tried and those cannon shots throw even more expensive stylus right out of the groove!
Just got a Audio Technica AT 30E, that once I get the upgraded 31E stylus, will see if that can "hang 10".
-
Or, as we have discussed here before, look for a 1700 or 1800 of the MkII series of Technics and have the same guts and arm at half the price.
Money saved can go towards a better cart/stylus.

Anyone familiar with these or have a recomendation for something similar?
Need the pre outs, the closer to professional, the better, but shooting for under $500 used and shipped.

What is the identity of this model?
http://www.klipsch.com/images/3315/1024x768.aspx
I see on earlier pages one you refer to as the "Little B@stard", which looks like it, but any additional info?
Bet these would make great center channels for a La Scalla set up.

Islander is surrounded by water right now!!!!!
Oh right, he lives on a island.[lol]

Wonder if there's a way to incororate a image of his veneer trimmer, into the curl on the "V"?LOL

Without the symbol it doesn't provide a instant visual of the type of Audio that Greg does so well.
Anyone with a K Horn or that knows the Klipsch herritage lines, should pick up on this at a glance.
I spent some(too much) time, drooling over his work shown on his web page today, looking for inspiration.
May not have found any, but his work, as another wise cracker here would say,his work is "top notch".

Once again a very rough idea, getting wrapped up in some other projects, so haven't as much time to play around, but will keep on trying.

Just saw the current full pager in the Globe & Mail Newspaper up here and will scan and post shortly.
However I don't know if I "get" showing the new line in front of the massive KPT Grand.
I know they are saying, "big sound" from the makers of THIS, but because of my illness, just see and want the bigger one.LOL
