  1. My bad, I guess I did not realize the Chorus had the decorative edge around the bottom like the Forte. Keep on Rockin' my friend...
  2. Nice set-up. I love the black Forte's [Y] I also like your Avatar, odd looking cat indeed []
  3. Garage sale last year. The lady had no idea what had been collecting dust in her basement. When she told me $45, I nearly lost my breath and could not get the money out of my wallet fast enough. I sold them to my friend for the same, he loves them...
  4. Good job Youthman [Y] Keep on Rockin' Ironsave - Get a grip on yourself man... $45 Cornwalls - they ended up having Peavy drivers in them. He had those replaced and they are now rockin through his Chinese tubes...
  5. I play the Bass Ironsave. Been playing about 3 months now. It has been a dream I have had for many years now and finally I am doing it. My instructor is a very skilled guitarist who is taking the time to point me in the direction of the style I wish to play. My ultimate goal is to be able to play "DMV" by Primus. It will probably be a couple of years before I am that far. So far I have a few simple songs under my belt. The first song I played was "Give up the Funk", on old 70's tune. Can play a couple of Talking Heads tunes. Working on some Stevie Wonder and Black Sabbath now. I don't know how good I am yet, I sure do have alot of fun with it though. Been learning on an Ibanez G10 with a Peavy Basic 112 amp. Have a one on one practice session each week with the instructor. On the interim, I pick it up several times a day for short 15-20 minute practices. It is such a cool feeling when there is something you just can not seem to get right and all of a sudden is "just there". Progress not Perfection... How long have you been playing? What gear are you using? Sincerest apologies
  6. Ironsave, Thanks, it is an Ibanez. I just started playing 3 months ago. Been having alot of fun with it, have a great instructor. As far as the pic I posted, I meant no harm. I just saw someone complain about the thread becoming off track which did not bother me one bit. You are right, this forum is for us to exchange information in a pleasurable way. I simply snaped a quck pic and posted it... Just for fun. I did not mean for it to be directed at ANYONE. If anyone is offended, my deepest apologies. Please carry on. Matt
  7. Oh no! Call the Internets police! Ok - back on track...
  8. Your help extends far beyond the borders of Florida Bill. I remember not to awful long ago your willingness to help me way up here in Missouri with my Onkyo dilemma. Oh, looks like you are going to have to build another bedroom to accomodate the new arrival. [] Rock on my Man!!!
  9. Beautiful score Bill !!! [Y] Rock on Brother...
  10. Good day fellow Missourian... One day I could not believe my ears. I had an old Yamaha C-6 controller (pre). A friend of mine was trying to get a system set up and I told him I had a few components he may want to try. We hooked up the Yammy to my system to test it and I was embarrassed. Compared to the Adcom I am using now the Yamaha was terribly harsh and unrealistic. I dont know if it was just old and dirty or simply put a quality difference. It certainly opened my eyes regarding the question of pre-amp sound quality. Keep on Rockin'
  11. Hello Patricious, I spoke with my local sales person last week about the very same issue. He said the RF-83 is discontinued. There will be no RF-83 II's. I think the RF-7 II is to fill the void.
  12. plain and simple, BIGGER IS BETTER!!!
  13. OMG!!! Max2mc - I want to drive what is pictured in your avatar. [:|] With Klipsch noise canceling earbuds of course []
  14. Hello Quad, glad to see a fellow Shepherd lover here. Zack, pictured below, he was my very best friend in the world. We were inseperable. He led a very happy and loving life. When he passed back in '06 I was of course devastated but he had lived and loyaly served for 14 fabulous years. The reason I am responding is I am finally ready for another friend in the family. A couple of months ago I was put on the list for another of his kin. My breeder is expecting a litter to be ready mid summer 2011. We are so excited. The blood lines are of "Kings Pride", located in Missouri. The breeder has been exclusive to Shepherds for over 30 years and is world renowned. Seeing your post reminded me how blessed I am to be able to include such a wonderful animal in my life. Not to mention I also love a reason just to look at his picture any chance I get (there are 4 framed on my wall now Sorry all, I know this is the KLIPSCH forum but I could not resist [] Keep on Rockin' Matt
  15. How do you compare the RF-7's to your KLF's? Better???
  16. Hi again all, I am curious, after getting a little more used to the new set up, it seems like the drivers are even hitting harder than they did before. Is this just my imagination or has seperating the the horns allowed for more clean power to be delivered to the drivers. I am still simply amazed at the improvement this change has made. Keep on Rockin'
  17. Before the bi-amping trial I was running only the Yamaha M-80 I am thrilled with the improvement. I only wish the Rotel had gain control.
  18. OH! [^o)] Thanks Dennie, I did not know this. So, an SACD will not have a noticeable sound improvement over lets say a digitally re-mastered CD? I am running strictly 2-channel. I actully just sold "SYSTEM II" to a "friend" of mine this afternoon. The whole 2-channel set-up with all connects/wires, $800. He is pretty excited.
  19. Hey there Dennie, thanks. Good to be here today. I love the Marantz. Dont actully have any SACD's though. I have been thinking about getting a couple to see how they sound. Keep on Rockin' Brother
  20. Hi SWL, I am not sure which I am using. The Rotel is connected to the HF and Yamaha to LF. I am not sure about x-over other than what is stock internal to the RF-7. The jumpers have been removed between the two.
  21. Hello all, I have been meaning to do this for some time now, bi-amping my RF-7. Finally did it this morning. Using the M-80 (250 wpc) for the drivers and a Rotel RB-850 (50 wpc) for the horns. I have always had the usual complaint of the RF-7 being too bright and just kinda got used to it using the treble to control it best I could. Upon the initial audition, I could tell there was some improvement. Not until some different genres were played at pounding levels have I really come to appreciate the upgrade. Wow, the ear bleeding brightness is gone. It is almost as if I have replaced my entire system. The 7's now have a much warmer and soothing tone to them. All the detail is there as before but it just seems so much cleaner. The entire listening experience has impoved greatly with this change. If anyone out there with a RF-7 brightness issue, bi-aming has greatly improved mine. I just wanted to share my experience and hopefully some others may benefit as well. Keep on Rockin'
