  1. Forget the Calgon!!! "RF-7 TAKE ME AWAY"
  2. Hi Dennie!!! I have not been checking the forum as frequently lately. Things have never been better! Still trudging along. Sure is great to hear from you. Look for a PM and we can catch up. Matt
  3. Ignore the M-45. Maybe take a look at the link to the M-80 below. Every time I turn mine on I am taken to a sweet land of pleasure. Simply an amazing piece of equipment. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370415455860&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
  4. Hi there Dennie!!! [] Been awhile, hope all is well for you. Check out the Thrift Store Finds thread. I posted a pic of a garage sale score. Its was all pretty exciting. Have a great evening and Keep on Rockin' Matt
  5. Went garage sale shopping this morning. I am always on the look out for work jeans and high end audio. Sometimes I find the Jeans. I never find the audio equipment. Today my luck changed. I spotted something familiar, OMG!!! I asked the lady how much for the speakers. "I dont know, how about $40" she says... I could not dig in my wallet fast enough. With out knowing if they even worked, I called my buddy with a pick-up. I got these bohemeaths home and was blown away. Not only does everything work, they sound incredible. The warmth the Cornwall puts out compared to my RF-7's is something to talk about. Unfortunately I dont have the room for these things though. My buddy is happy for that...
  6. Hi there RunninShine, I have my 7's running through a Yammy M-80 (250 wpc). These things are a little slice of heaven in my opinion. I listened to them in the show room and was impressed, I finally got them home and holy smokes, I was so happy I nearly cried. The RF-7 is the most incredible speaker I have ever had the chance to audition. I know how bad it is having to wait also. I had to put mine on layaway for a few weeks and it was nearly unbearable. I would have waited much longer if that is what it took though. If I were you, bite the bullet and get them ordered...YESTERDAY!!! Keep on Rockin' Matt
  7. Welcome Don, Congratulations on your new voyage. I started off with a pair of RB-61's and was amazed at the sound these little guys put out. You are gonna need stands. Also a quality sub is going to be a must. Be careful sticking your toes in the water around here. Before you know it you will be dripping wet with a huge smile on your face. Keep on Rockin', Matt
  8. High Five Dennie!!! Good to see ya - Keep on Rockin' Brother!
  9. Non Monster version about five bucks from radio shack. It seems to work pretty well. Runs from headphone jack on laptop to un-used input on pre-amp.
  10. []Thanks for a good grin this morning[] I had my laptop hooked up one day with the visualizer through the TV. I agree, pretty cool. A real pain in the *!# though. I think I might go ahead and try the tape loop method. I can pick up a BSR on ebay pretty cheap so dont really have much to loose. If I dont like how it looks, on the shelf it goes, along with all the other un-needed equipment. Matt
  11. Hi all, Last year I added a Yamaha M-80 to my arsenal. In my search for a powerful amp to drive the RF-7's I had two criteria, superior build and stunning good looks. The M-80 fit the bill and I found one in pristine condition for a good price. Recently I have found myself looking at anything with meters built into it. Last night I came across an older BSR EQ-3000. Like an old crow searching for something shinny it drew my attention. My question. Will an equializer actually reduce the sound quality. I love my rig and the vintage 80's gear. I do not want to add anything that will compromise sound quality simply for flash. I have no need for equalization I just like the pretty little meters. I have the gut feeling that an equalizer is something that will do more harm than good. Thanks, Keep on Rockin' Matt
  12. - Bob Dylan (a.k.a. Kermit the Frog): I would prefer salt poured over an open wound than listen to his awful voice. Bobs music needs to stay where it belongs, with Miss Piggy and The Muppet Show...
  13. Janes Addiction: - Damn buddy, get your balls outta the vise. Better yet, leave them in there. Anything to keep ya away from the microphone [+o(]
  14. -The Butthole Surfers: Rembrandt Pussyhorse -Limp Bizkit: Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog flavored water
  15. I have a Yamaha C-6. I think they were in the same era for I have a T-70 tuner and M-4 amp that were all purchased together. Not sure? I still have the equipment if there is any way I may help. It has been awhile since that stuff has been used but I dont remember ever noticing excessive heat from the "controller". Matt
  16. I went to a locally owned and operated car audio shop and picked up some quality 12 guage speaker wire for 75 cents a foot. The 7's love it!!! Got a good deal and kept my $ local...
  17. I have a very small listening area. Only about ten feet stand between my speakers and I. 250 watt/channel amp plus good sub. I thought the RF-7's would be way to much. I had to have them though. I started out with the RB-61 and the upgrade is simply incredible. I still get goosebumps when I really drive them. 12' x 12' is more than enough room for large RF series. I suggest you go with as large as you can afford. You will make room! Enjoy!!!
  18. Wow! The machine on the wall makes jeans? Thats neat, thanks for sharing your "Girl Cave" BTW - I think you need an overstuffed chair and some bigger Klipsch though.
  19. Hiyaa Dennie, I had forgotten how wonderful everything sounded!!! Can you imagine that? Life is more fun when one can stop and enjoy the simple things! Great to hear from you. Keep on Rockin' Matt
  20. Yes, I was quite impressed to say the least. BTW, nice photo in your avatar. There was a Carrera 4S parked outside my door all weekend. It was beautiful! [] Runninshine: thanks, I am so happy to have my system back in full order. It was a long couple of weeks. I spent the entire afternoon listening. [] Matt
  21. I did not examine the drivers side by side. There very well may have been a difference but I did not notice.
  22. The parts and service department at the Klipsch Company is deserving of the highest praise... A couple of weeks ago I had one of the 10" drivers in my RF-7's take a turn for the worst. I went to my local dealer and they put an order in for a replacement, no questions asked. About a week later I was regretfully informed the driver was on back-order and they did not know how long the wait would be. I expressed some disappointment and was assured they would stay on top of the order. Thursday I received a call from the kind folks at D&M Sound in Columbia. They informed me that special accomadations had been made and my replacement driver would be shipped overnight. Friday afternoon my speaker arrived. It turns out the drivers are still on back order and the parts department decided it was important for me to have my speakers in good working order. They pulled the driver from a new and ready to ship RF-7. Then they paid to have overnight shipment, which I am sure was not cheap given its massive weight. To top that off Steve from the local shop was kind enough to even come to my home and install the new driver personally. As we all here know, it is one of the simple pleasures of life to own a Klipsch product. I just wanted to share some of my gratitude with other Klipsch forum members. Keep on Rockin' Matt
  23. The smoke's cleared and the sweat has evaporated now [Y] "Im given her all shes got Captain" Thanks guys it turned out just a fuse blown. The way my day was going yesterday all I saw was $$$. It only ended up costing me $4. Big relief. Keep on Rockin' Matt
