  1. From the album: 2015 Cornscala Project

    3/4" mounting ring brace.
  2. From the album: 2015 Cornscala Project

Motorboard is recessed to allow face mounting and the woofer to be flush.
  3. I did a bonehead move and stratched one of my cornwalls. I had my friend who is a cabinet finisher come repair... cant even tell it happend and he finished the bafle in black satin and repainted the horn to match... all that is left ont he bafle side is geting the tweeters from dave and having them painted to match. As an aside, I plan to use the same dampening klipsch used (ebay). Should I paint the inside of the cabinets too? I wonder if sealing them has an acustic impact?
  4. I asked Dave for some help shoehorning his horns into a stock Cornscala. As I'm planning for this to be my last speaker for a bit, I'm going all out. Dave wasn’t able to fit his bigger tweeter horn into a stock cab, but I will be able to use his Eliptrac400 and the Eliptrac tweeter. Thoughts on drivers or crossovers and drivers? My standard recipe is Eliptrac 400/ B&C DE85tn, Eliptrac tweeter and the Dayton Audio D250P-8 1" Polyimide Driver. Woofer is going to be Eminence Kappa 15C. I own the horns and baffles. Additionally I won the Dayton driver so my tweeter is probably set. The mid range needs to fit in a stockish cab. B&C DE85tn vs Eminence PSD:3006-8 ? Budget makes me want to go to a ALK Cornscalawal but my guts makes me think AP12-500 or 600 and then a ES5800 several months later. Regarding cabinet build, I’m hoping to use biscuits or do you guys think its overkill? I so didnt realize that the baffle is backwards. The front is recessed to allow for the woofer to be face mounted yet with sit flush to the baffle. (Going for the Klipsch Cornwall clone look).

  10. Rogue Audio Tempest II integrated tube amp 2nd owner bought from authorized dealer Brooks Berdan 2 12AX7s, 2 6SN7s and 4 6550 power tubes. Freshly retubed. 90watts per channel, remote control. This is the big brother to the Atlas. A much more refined piece. Seems my little one know to not touch the tubes and so my own mono blocks and pre will finally make there way to the living room. Willing to ship. $1800obo Justin. 323-868-9722
  11. Sold everyone ;-). Well techniqally I have a deposit but believe it will net a completed deal.
  12. Just out of curiosity. We're the Audio nervana speakers made by me? God they look like some I built 2-3 years ago.
  13. Going with the basic theme you might go B&W 802d for speakers and a vpi classic or the new pioneer direct drive sl-1200. Other thoughts would be mc c22 and mc75s that just came out and the new la scalas for w retro looking throughly bad *** setup. The cd sugested CD player and then a Mac mini with cd drive for digital library.
  14. Nope. Finally being my amps to Newport. It's hard to find the extra funds to afford a show and it's super intimidating. Lucky for me I auditioned my amps and chapman speakers was interested in using for the Newport show ;-). Amazing opertunity.
  15. It is. I bypassed the fuses when doing rewiring and addition of ALK crossover, making it more a audiophile version. That said it's easy to wire back. The la Scala here would be pretty amazing in a stage the bass horn fires righy and the eliptrac/de750 is a monster.
  16. Yup. Least the way I got them. They are pro Scalas without metal trim.
  17. Hey everyone. Sorry for late replies. The doghouse is braced. I bought the brace kit and gill frames from volti audio. It's really a custom brace kit as its a sand to fit. I can't clam the speakers dig into the 30s but I had to rebalance the crossover because there was 6db more bass. The overall presentation was significantly improved I had felt the horns lead before and the bass bins died too early. The bracing was a night and day change producing what I think is a vastly improved sound. As an aside, it came with k43s. I had them checked at or age county speaker and then put them back in, didn't think the kappa 15c was a worth while upgrade; but who knows ;-).
