Yup- that's a better driver/horn - probably more expensive. Those would certainly be nice as well.

Getting the crossover to a compression driver down to the original 600Hz point and eliminating the tweeter. I guess it'd be easier to just sell the cornwalls and buy the KPT-310

I noticed the new KPT-310-M in the pro lineup is basically a cornwall (K-33 woofer) with the horn from the Epic CF3/4. Not sure about the K-70 compression driver. Any idea what the crossover frequency is in the KPT-310? My guess is 600hz. What would I need to convert my CIII to 2 ways utilizing the KPT-310 parts?

Over the years I've seen this comment made so no offense to the poster but, don't you think the engineers at Klipsch thought of that and would have implemented it if it were going to sound better, in that footprint? For the record, the KLF-20s.30s are 3 way design speakers and they were replaced with the RF-7s which still have rave reviews...Fwiw, I have the KLF-20s/C-7 and they sound awesome but what is listed below is what is on our main Home Theater. If you want to know what the engineers think - look at the commercial cinema models. If you want to know what the marketing/bean counters think - look at Reference.

Willland - with all due respect - that makes absolutely no sense. Klipsch is in the business of selling speakers - not supporting the used market.

Klipschorn prices now far exceed Jubilee prices ( i think ). OK maybe I get the Klipschorn - there's probably not a lot of demand any more and that must be one difficult cabinet to build. Considering Bob Crites can build a set of Cornscalas for half the price of the C3s using higher quality wood/components - I do believe the Heritage prices are bordering on price gouging.

They would have been $400/each back in '84. So today a pair of H3 is $2,000 and C3 is $4,400. Now the C3 uses the same parts except for a slightly larger woofer and a bigger box. Thanks to Bob Crites - we know what the parts cost, so building a C3 costs $2,400 more than a Heresy for basically a bigger box? That must be one valuable box.

Are they trying to price these things out of existence? $2,000 for a pair of Heresys??? $4,400 for a set of Cornwalls?? I wish I had the price list from 2005 - but they were significantly lower.

I'm in Little Rock - How would you grade these on a 10 point scale cosmetically? Think I could move these in the back of a pickup truck? I'm interested. These would finally put an end to my constant upgrading of Klipsch speakers.

I live in Arkansas and could pick them up this weekend. Are they still for sale?

tkdamerica - I agree with you we'll never see a new speaker design that looks like a Belle. But - why can't we have a high end, real wood veneer 3 way design like the Palladium but without the $20K price tag. I'm sorry but a 2 woofer, high frequency horn design will NEVER sound like a compression driver mated to a 600hz horn. BTW, I own a set of RF-62 ii and yes they sound ridiculously good, I mean crazy good. But I still prefer the sound of a Heresy.

So this is what's in most recent Klipsch speakers? They look like horn loaded tweeters to me.

So I will update my prediction (last time I was accused of being a buzzkill). There's something big coming today at noon. What we saw yesterday isn't any of these things: Klipsch getting back to its roots Klipsch getting back to high end/high profit "Biggest Launch in years" If what we saw yesterday was to reflect the above, then Kliipsch has turned into a marketing engine just like Bose. I hope I'm wrong. What makes me think there's something big coming? What was with the riddle from Chad? Why all the hype about PWK at CES? Where are the wood veneer speakers with real compression drivers? I think we are going to see them in a couple of hours.

Respectfully I have to disagree. No one loves Klipsch more than me - but there's no way a Klipsch sub from 2001 can in any way compete with a top of the line SVS costing twice as much. They are just completely two different classes of subwoofer. Oh, and btw, I plan on replacing this sub with a Klipsch. I just got a pair of Corns and I don't need a sub this refined any longer.

I think there's something else coming Today is the 5th - not the 6th. "Biggest Launch in Years" is on the 6th. A few minor changes to the reference lineup and a couple of wireless speakers does not make this the "Biggest Launch in Years".
