  1. Thanks Blu, ended up talking to him about an hour ago, looks like everythings kosher! He's Fedex'ing it out in the morning. $280 shipped! Going to be a long 3 days until it arrives! What sub are you going after?
  2. Ha! Thanks Bill, that sounds like a heckuva deal! I haven't heard from the guy today, I'm affraid he might have shaded out. I'm going to try him this evening, wish me luck!
  3. Thanks guys! I'm supposed to hear from the guy today, fingers crossed. Blu, what do you have going on?
  4. Thank you, sir. Sale pending.
  5. Arky, do you think $250-280 is a pretty good deal for an Outlaw 750 in good shape? I know it's a little old (1999-2000), but I've read it's built like a tank... a 65lb tank.
  6. Axiom makes a solid speaker, IMHO. However, You're stepping into a different world when you come over to Klipsch. Just so very good with movies (and music, obviously). Good luck, whatever you decide! And, you're welcome! Lot of solid people on this forum, they have helped me in similar ways!
  7. Thanks Arky! Blu, that is my quandry. The thing is I'm getting 5 channels with the Outlaw but only 165w vs 3 channels and 200w with the Emo. Tough call. $300 is maybe too good a deal to pass up. I think I'll be able to get, at least, that out of it if I don't like it. You know what I mean?!
  8. Any insight into how an Outlaw 750 would sound in my system? Seems to have really good reviews, some say a little bright, hmmmmm. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!!
  9. I'd be more inclined to go with the Denon at 200 bucks over the 7.1, however, I'm sticking to my "be patient" message. I suggest waiting a while, save up a little more $$$ (like a $500 budget), then pounce on a newer receiver when you see a great deal. My .02 PS- I got my Integra for under $500 and I has EVERYTHING I was looking for in a receiver.
  10. I love my Integra. Like I said, very good for movies, good music. That model is what I would consider an older model. I think it was released in '02, not sure. As far as specs go, it won't be able to decode any of the new HD sound formats (Dolby TrueHD and DTS-MA), if that's not a big deal to you then you'd be okay. What's the price? For something from '02 it should be pretty cheap ($150-200)...
  11. 35's, these might come in under budget if you can work with him on the shipping (I'm not sure how comfortable I am with shipping though...) http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?spkrfull&1273415676&/Klipsch-RF-35-black-in-mint-co 25's, waaaaaaay under budget. I actually bought my original RF-25's from this guy. Nice, smooth transaction. These are cherry, don't remember if that's a problem. Plus, this guy is in Cali so the shipping wouldn't be a harsh. http://cgi.ebay.com/Klipsch-RF-25-Tower-speakers-Cherry-NEW_W0QQitemZ290342492839QQcmdZViewItemQQptZSpeakers_Subwoofers?hash=item4399c2daa7 I'll keep an eye out.
  12. If around $400 is your budget look at these: http://www.amazon.com/Onkyo-TX-SR607-7-2-Channel-Surround-Receiver/dp/B001VEI2KO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1268682505&sr=1-2 Denon 1910 Pioneer 1019 My vote is obviously for the Onkyo (Onkyo makes Integra, and I love my Integra), and $415 is a pretty good price for the 607.
  13. Thanks for the review! I'll check it out, I'm always looking for new demo stuff to show my friends how much better my system is than theirs[6]! As far as crappy Blockbuster selection goes... Go Netflix and never look back! I pay $11/month for 2 BD's at a time, unlimited. I'm about to watch The Hurt Locker, in a couple hours I'll toss it in the mailbox and I have T:Salvation in my mailbox by Wednesday!
  14. Hi Nava, and welcome! My personal opinion is that Sony's don't sound very good with Klipsch gear, again, just my opinion. As for what does sound good (obviously subjective)... Integra/Onkyo (very good for movies, good for music), Marantz (very good for music, good for movies), Denon & Yamaha (both good all-around). Pioneer makes good receivers, as well. As far as price goes... shop around and be patient, if you aren't scared to buy used (I'm not and I got a great receiver for a great price) there are deals to be had. Keep an eye on audiogon.com, ebay, and your local craigslist. Are you looking to start a home theater or is this going to be strictly for music?
  15. Not trying to influence at all but...... I heard a big difference from lossy to lossless...IMHO. However, it could have been because I went from a Yammy (lossy) to an Integra (lossless). My .02
  16. If you don't mind telling us, what is your budget for fronts? And, your location? I like to look for deals for my fellow forum members, and I know a lot of others in here do too. If not, no big deal. Good luck either way!
  17. Also, I've got a couple pics in my profile of my RF25/RC35 combo if you'd like to see how the look together. I think they look really nice together because of the matching woofer size. I know, I know, it doesn't matter what they look like....It's just a nice bonus!![]
  18. RF-25's with a RC-35 was my last front soundstage before I found my current set-up. I really enjoyed the sound. I've found RF-35's a little hard to come by, and when I see them now they seem a little pricey. I've seen a couple pair on eBay, but for like $800, which to me is rediculous since you can find RF-82's much cheaper. I think you'd be happy with the 25's. Did you specify room dimensions, did I miss that?
  19. I'd look a little harder for a deal before you go to BB and spend retail, if you are patient there are some serious deals to be had. My .02
  20. I second what Inventor said, people say really good things about that model of Yammy. You should be just fine. Enjoy your new Reference gear, it's a biiiiig difference. Post some pics if you get a chance, we all love pics!! Jrod
  21. ka7niq, I'm glad to hear that you really liked the bi-amping, my Integra allows for the same thing, I just might give it a try. I've heard from a lot of people that it makes little, to no, difference at all. Of course, I'm stubborn, so I wanna try it!! Again, glad to hear you are enjoying a fine Onkyo product, just like myself!!
  22. Your Onkyo is pretty similar to my Integra (you have 10 more wpc and 1 more HDMI). You are right about 2-channel, once you get everything tweeked the way you like it, the music is full and powerful sounding. As far as HT goes, I've personally never had a better receiver (and I've owned Yammy and Denon). Movies are so life like and the surround effects are outstanding. I'm planning on adding an Emotiva xpa-3 to really open up my front soundstage and leave the Integra to run the rears. Enjoy your new Onkyo!! Jrod
  23. So glad someone finally caught my "smallest" comment. I thought it was really funny...but then again, I always think I'm funny and my girlfriend says I'm not.
  24. Hope I don't get lambasted for this but... Paradigm's Signature stuff is very nice sounding: Bookshelf http://www.paradigm.com/en/reference/fronts-signatureseries-signatures2-model-2-17-1-32.paradigm with Center http://www.paradigm.com/en/reference/centers-signature-signaturec3-model-3-17-1-35.paradigm
