  1. Our latest addition to the F Series boasts a 600W amplifier and 18" driver with 1 1/8" linear travel. Frequency response is 15-85 Hz, ±3 dB. THD, less than 1%, 25 Hz @ 104 dB. Wow that Velo is a beast down to 15Hz,
  2. Here is a great one, maybe you can get him to come down in price. sale-cqsxq-1780218209@craigslist.org
  3. No it does not get low enough better but not enough for a drastic improvement. I love Klipsch speakers, but I think their Subs are somewhat lacking. Keep an eye out and you will find something. You want something that will produce as low as 18-20Hz. Just a few brands to look for: Velodyne, Miller&Krieser, HSU, SVS, Sunfire to name a few. The 18-22Hz you do not really hear as much as you feel it.
  4. Dave, I was a big Schlitz beer drinker in the early and mid 70's and I would always say what a great after taste it had after you gulped some down. Then I quit drinking it when they decided to make it into "owl piss" (man I love that discription). i have tried the new and supposedly old formula and I was disappointed, maybe after 30+ years, the mind and taste buds do not act the same, or maybe it was just a bad batch that got ruined somehow. Upon your recommendation I may just have to give it another shot. Cliff
  5. Yes I do remember that I drank both brand but Strohs more so, not sure whose cans had it, But like you said they did not last but a few months.
  6. Well if you like watching movies and you want to feel the explosions then I would suggest a subwoofer that will go down to the 18-20Hz range.
  7. NICE setup, I just got thirsty looking at that picture of Hoegaarden. 1 and a half hours to COLD BEER TIME!
  8. WHOA, a 12 pack and 24 onces everyday, at my age it takes me a day and a half to recover from doing a 12 pack, and those GIRLS are a little bit stonger then domestic beer.
  9. As for me a MGD ice cold will do just fine but if I want to treat myself then I will go for some St. Paulie girls.
  10. Thanks for the heads up but as for powered subs I am a little leary to purchase new. Some bad past experiances with buying them used. Thanks again. Big Cliff
  11. That is what I have to decide on now new or used. Joe in WI got back to me and his Velo sub is available. It is a great HUGE sub but what worries me is how long will it last. Value used or more dollars for NEW and piece of mind. OH, WHOA IS ME! LOL Take Care and let me know what you think of your NEW Emotiva. Cliff
  12. You do have a point on the sealed encloser. I was using a M & K V 125 and it was the best music sounding sub I have heard. Unfortunetly I bought it used and it did not last but just over a year. That is one reason I am a little leary about buying another used sub.
  13. Ironsave, My budget is right there between $400 and $450. I have never heard of emotiva so maybe I will wait till you get yours and let me know what you think of them. The SVS is on sale for $475 and if I call and have one of my drivers pick up there I may be able to get them down to $450 and no tax because they are in Ohio. How did you here about emotiva? By the way I bought the Fortes and I have them hooked up now with the KG 5.5s and it is an awesome combo. Just need the sub to round out the bottom bottom end. Next purchase down the road some after the sub will be a nice tube amp. When will it ever end??? LOL Cliff
  14. OK that is good to hear, at least I know I am headed in the right direction. Now to just decide on which one.
  15. They seem like a good company have talked to them on the phone and they are very cordial. Thanks
  16. OK, I know this is a KLIPSCH forum but my two Klipsch subs(SW 12II and SW 10II) have both died. RIP That being said I know Klipsch makes great speakers but subs I am not so sure. I am in the market for a new sub which will be just for stereo music listening. I have researched and in the price I want to pay I have narrowed it down to the SVS PB 10 and the HSU VTF 1. Can anyone stir me in one direction or the other and why. I can not go listen to either one because I am buying online and have not seen anyone locally selling either one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Big Cliff
  17. I am a Chicago sports fan (Sox,Blackhawks,Bears, and Bulls when some guy named Jordan played), who is dissappointed that he did not come here. I now enjoy college and high school basketball more then watching the NBA, if LeBron came here maybe I would be more interested in watching the Bulls. Well I guess I will have more time to listen to my Klipsch speakers. A word of wisdom to all, all three players(Bosh, LeBron, and Wade) are represented by the same agency. (GO FIGURE)
  18. Well I must admit the more I work with them and my EQ the more I am liking them. Loud and power is not the problem they will definitely ROCK OUT. I was not really satisfied (at first) with their performance at lower listening levels, but they are growing on me. I think my biggest problem like I had stated earlier is that I am spoiled by my Chorus IIs. That being said though, there is a pair of Fortes I can pickup locally so I am going to sell the 5.5s and get the Fortes if all works out as planned.
  19. OK I will give it a go. 5.5====unrefined overemphasized Chorus IIs====smooth exacting detailed Only needed two for the kgs
  20. Thanks for the input Bill. So in your opinion I should keep the 5.5 and do the Bob Crites upgrade. What about without the upgrade do you have any idea if either of the 5.5s or the RF3's is better then the other. On the other hand you are right in the fact that I should probably just wait for a pair of Heritage or extended Heritage to become availabl. Just something so much better about the three way sound to myself anyway. Big Cliff
  21. Well then I guess I well see if I can snag these RF 3's then if I do I will let you know what I think. Thanks for all you help.
  22. OK thanks a lot for the input. You will not be disappointed with the Chorus. My next step from the, forChorus would be the LaScala or the Belle Klipsch. I believe with either of them though you would need a good musical subwoofer to complete the overall sound. Are you running a sub with the RF 3s? If not maybe that is all the you need, for now that is. Once bitten by the bug you always are looking for something better. As for you finding Heritage for yourself keep an eye on Craigslist. Here in Chicago every once in awhile they pop up there and sometimes pretty cheap because people sometimes do not know what they are selling. Thanks again, Big Cliff
  23. Well I do not know about the RF3s, I have a chance to get a pair but I am not sure I want them. I would get them if I knew they would be better then the kg5.5s which I now have. That is what I am trying to find out. That being said the Chorus speakers are fantastic, I think you just can't beat the sound of a three way speaker IMHO. They are way better then the KG5.5s and well they should be. If you get the Fortes or the Chorus you will be very pleased. Then you will be wanting Klipshhorns or La Scalas or Belle Klipsch. There are also many Klipsch speaker that would be an upgrade from the RF3's but I personally would go with the Klipsch Heritage line. I have the Chorus speakers in my HT and KGs in my recreation room. Just looking to improve what I have at the present time.
  24. How do you like your RF 3s? I just picked up the KG 5.5 a month ago and I am still trying to tune them in with my room and equalizer. I think they do have a lot of bass though. Like I said in my post, I guess I am spoiled by the Chorus IIs.
  25. I have a pair of 5.5s and have an chance to pick up the RF3s. Would there be a significant difference to go to the RF 3's. I like the 5.5 but seem a little bottom end heavy, maybe just because I am spoiled by my Chorus IIs though. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks. Big Cliff
