  1. Not sure how much help I can be but I'll offer my advice anyway. I have a set of Forte II's and love them. I sold my cornwalls and have not looked back as for me they a perfect for my listening room. This was my approach when I had the cornwalls. I bought a little Dayton Audio DTA-100a T-Amp and boy was I surprised and how well this thing performs, I hooked my iPod straight to it via the rear rya inputs. I bought this so I could listen to the cornwalls and save some cash in the audio fund for a better amp and a pre. I ended up buying a Juicy Music PEACH pre from a fellow forum member and a McInosh 2105 as the amp. I can tell you I will never part with either as this combination has worked very well for me and my Forte II's. I hope your journey is as rewarding as mine has been.

A little background - my Klipsch La Scalas are extremely sensitive speakers (spec'd @ 104 dB). They're fully horn-loaded 3-way speakers that I've updated with new crossovers. Until now, my speakers were driven by a rebuilt Eico HF-81 - a well regarded vintage tube amplifier that despite its 14 watt limit could drive my sensitive La Scalas to extreme levels.
I can confirm that Klipsch La Scala speakers and Dayton's DTA-100a Class-T amp are a special combination. As others have said, a diminutive t-amp driving a set of huge Klipsch boxes seems truly absurd. But the music imparted by the DTA-100a Class-T amp is much more than I'd heard from my vintage tube amp. All the music's detail is revealed - nothing is clipped or distorted despite the ear-splitting volumes that can be achieved by DTA-100a with 104dB speakers. I can also verify that the DTA-100a's bass is extremely accurate and tight - much better than had been possible from my Eico tube amp.
I recommend that Klipsch Heritage speaker owners give a Dayton DTA-100a Class-T amp a try - you won't regret your decision.

Agree I own one of these as my backup amp. I have put my Fortes on it and my Heresey ii's on it and the both sound fantastic. Its worth 100 bucks to give it a try and if you don't like it you can always keep it as a backup. It also makes it easy to take when auditioning future purchases.

  3. Chorus and fortes are much better than Heresies. The sound is bigger, the bass is full, the tractrix mids are great in the mark 2 versions, sounding more open and effortless. However, heresies with a properly dialed in sub are a nice set up.

I agree with everything said here. I currently own both as a matter of fact i just posted a video of both setups playing on the show off your 2 channel setup thread. Anyway i love the HII but I always head to my room to listen to the Forte II's.

  4. I'm currently in the market for a set of KLF 20's or 30's. Why well just because I want a pair lol. Anyway these will be moved into the living room and will be used mostly for TV shows and movie watching with occasional music when the wife isn't around and I can crank them :). I currently have a set of Hii's with a SVS PB10 sub. My question is what can I expect with this combo?

  5. Hope you got everything hooked up and rnjoying your apple tv. I have 2 of them and love em! Don't forget to download the free remote app if you have a iphone. You can stream your music from itunes and with the remote control volume/tracks etc and it will also allow you to stream to multiple atv's if you have more than one.

  6. The room will play a big factor as to what will sound best. I had a set of cornwalls in a 12x12 room sounded good but not great now I could move those same speakers into our living room and BAMMM! I have a set of Heresy II's and a set of Forte II's. The forte II's fit the bill for me as I love the detail and bass these things make in my lil 12x12 room. The Heresy's sound just as good in most ways but a sub is needed to bring out the low's that I like. Good luck with your search and welcome!

  7. I ordered the Emotiva this morning. I will post back when I get it and set it up. Thanks for the advice all!

Please do as I have been following this thread and considering buying a pair of 7II's after hearing them at the pilgrimage this year. So logically I will need to know which direction to look towards for an amp and AVR.
