  1. I am guessing a coupon for a "certain" type of dinner on the boys at hardrock for you buying these delicous speakers... pun intended. ------------------ Why do you like playing around with my little scope of reality? I can feel it all start slipping away..... See but I don't get it, don't you think maybe we can put it on credit? I get stupified. It's all the same...
  2. A reserve price is a half-assed attempt at an "auction". I buy alot for a retail company at auction type places and reserve bids are un-heard of. I would stay far away from ubid, they seem to be a joke! ------------------ Why do you like playing around with my little scope of reality? I can feel it all start slipping away..... 3. That has to do with the TV's ability to play (show) HDTV signals. Generally a good HDTV is I believe 1080i or something to that nature. The higher the number the sharper the tv. ------------------ Why do you like playing around with my little scope of reality? I can feel it all start slipping away..... 5. Thank you for the responses. I am off to RatShack to get me one of those digital dB meters and try the between AM station noise to tweak. So, should each speaker read 75dB from what I read here? Where should I stand to get these measurements? Any advice on where to go from here... now that I understand pink noise. ------------------ Why do you like playing around with my little scope of reality? I can feel it all start slipping away..... 6. Silly question here I guess, but is any question really silly if it needed to be asked. I want to dial in my HT set up so I can see if there are any differences. Here are them in question: What is pink noise? How does one achive pink noise? Is the test tone on my HT reciever pink noise? My volume control is not read in dB so how would I know when I am at 0 to effectively dial in? Any help would be appreciated. I await with baited breath. ------------------ System specs: PIII 500 o/c to 627 256MB PC 100 SB Live 4.1 retail TnT2 Ultra o/c'd to the max. 7. *******! hehehehe. j/k.... mine were tight too, use the biggest driver you have and make sure the driver is straight on to the screw and push down as you turn. 8. I see everyone talkin' HT, well, I guess this is the right place. I was wondering what the pros do to make their systems sound better by way of furniture and drapes ect.... BTW what is your favorite kinda HT chair, mine is my leather chair/ottoman combo. What do you guys do??!!! ------------------ System specs: PIII 500 o/c to 627 256MB PC 100 SB Live 4.1 retail TnT2 Ultra o/c'd to the max. 9. I must admit however, the show was more than the sum of it's music. Although the wall of drums and the large 10FT. drum head was amazing. The air poles have a sonic whisper I just love. This is a talented group in my opinion for reasons being that they make ordinary plastic my beautiful melodies.... and they design the stuff too. Even their "guitars" if you want to call their string instruments that are played with sticks. Who knew closed cell foam rubber and pvc could sound so good. ------------------ System specs: Technics SADX940 DD/DTS Technics SLDP8 CD Changer Technics RS TR373 Deck CV E708's FRONT & REAR CV E76C CENTER CV HT10 SUB MONSTERCABLE CONNECTS & PINS RCA 27" & HIFI VCR & DVD DIGITAL DTS DTV SATT. 10. Thank you for the response. I am going to see a friend to try a higher end reciever to see if I can detect any difference. My reciever is perhaps not high end enough to have a difference. I do however notice a difference in digital movies that are normal and thx, the thx does sound alot beefier than normal digital. ------------------ System specs: Technics SADX940 DD/DTS Technics SLDP8 CD Changer Technics RS TR373 Deck CV E708's FRONT & REAR CV E76C CENTER CV HT10 SUB MONSTERCABLE CONNECTS & PINS RCA 27" & HIFI VCR & DVD DIGITAL DTS DTV SATT. 11. Actually digital / analog is not really that different. Why you ask, because speaker wire is analog so no matter how digital the connect between sources is it's still analog when it comes out the speakers. ------------------ System specs: Technics SADX940 DD/DTS Technics SLDP8 CD Changer Technics RS TR373 Deck CV E708's FRONT & REAR CV E76C CENTER CV HT10 SUB MONSTERCABLE CONNECTS & PINS RCA 27" & HIFI VCR & DVD DIGITAL DTS DTV SATT. 12. Can someone explain to me the difference in sound with DTS and Dolby Digital. The Digital(AC3) seems to sound better but I hear that DTS is better.... the DTS seems to lack bottom end and my sub sits idle and on Digital it stomps. Please clue a simplton like myself in on what the differences are. 13. I have a fine set up of Klip multimedia and I finally found a bass passage(s) that these things choke on. If you want to hear the stuff I am talking about, try out the cd called "audio" by "the blue man group". Heard em' a few days ago at the Luxor in Vegas and had to get the CD to try out back here at home. My HT really plays the passages well but my poor lil' multimedia dual sub don't like it too much . Amazing talent and what a show it was. Go to blueman.com for some free samples. ------------------ System specs: Technics SADX940 DD/DTS Technics SLDP8 CD Changer Technics RS TR373 Deck CV E708's FRONT & REAR CV E76C CENTER CV HT10 SUB MONSTERCABLE CONNECTS & PINS RCA 27" & HIFI VCR & DVD DIGITAL DTS DTV SATT. 14. On the contrary. These promedia 4.1's are actually an analog setup. All they require is a 4 channel sound card (one with a 1/8 jack out for the front and one for the rear). Happy rockin'. ------------------ System specs: Technics SADX940 DD/DTS Technics SLDP8 CD Changer Technics RS TR373 Deck CV E708's FRONT & REAR CV E76C CENTER CV HT10 SUB MONSTERCABLE CONNECTS & PINS RCA 27" & HIFI VCR & DVD DIGITAL DTS DTV SATT. 15. I'm thinking of putting some MONSTERCABLE speaker wire as power wire on my fish tank's AQUACLEAR MINI filter pump. Do you suppose that would make it THX certified? Your opinions are appreciated I thot this section needed some spice heheh. ------------------ System specs: Technics SADX940 DD/DTS Technics SLDP8 CD Changer Technics RS TR373 Deck CV E708's FRONT & REAR CV E76C CENTER CV HT10 SUB MONSTERCABLE CONNECTS & PINS RCA 27" & HIFI VCR & DVD DIGITAL DTS DTV SATT. 17. look under your volume settings under the "cd" volume. Below the volume is a left/right balance control, make sure it is centered.
  18. I use my 4.1's in EAX all the time now. From manually setting it for goames like Q1, 2 and 3 as well as auto settings for NFS 5. They all sound awesome. However I was using Caimbridge Soundworks 2000's before so even TV speakers will sound better
  19. I have a verticle rack for my HT grae. I ditched the smoked glass doors... went to home depot and bought some of that board that you find on the back of cabinets. Cut the center out to make a 1-1/2" frame of wood with the center missing. I took some black standard material from wal mart and covered the wood frames. Black front with the breatheability factor
  20. I went to the area Home Depot, picked myself up some low voltage cable (the kind noma moon rays use) and found no difference except it looks prettier. Nothing looks better than black wire IMO. BTW, using bananna plugs was a good idea. Easy to move speakers to clean around them ect....
  21. I'd like to think I know/knew a bit about HT, dolby, thx and other things about surround. I understand how pro logic works and the difference between pro logic, 5.1 and DTS. What I want to know is what is 6.1 in terms of speakers and sound, while I'm at it... what's 7.1? I currently have 5.1 with toslink cables from my dish reciever and DVD player.
  22. *** WARNING *** Watching DVD's on your computers small screen will give you eyeball tumors and is the leading cause of uncureable impotence. Do so at your own risk. HeHeHe. J/K, I hope you all enjoy your 5.1's as much as I enjoy my 4.1's. I remember the excitement of emptying my savings account but filling my computer room with the rich, loud goodness of the 4.1's. Man i love audio and all that comes with it.
  23. Yeah, thats funny. Absolutely nothing to do with the original question what-so-ever. Not wanting to hurt any feelings i believe it was a mistake. Reminds me of my wife who never seems to really listen unless it's about her stuff
  24. Well the threading on the BOTTOM of the pro media satt. is a standard thread. Any speaker wall bracket will fit... even BOSE (hahahah). Anyway, just remember the Klip's satt threads are on the bottom, not the back so any wall bracket must have vertical threading, not horizontal, unless you want your satts to face to the floor.
