  1. Idk if they upgraded quality maybe just the looks from the iii to the iv model. You should be ok with either one. I don't think you would hear the difference. But you could try it out then see what you think from there.
  2. Well i found "Lip Sync" but its only available in HDMI settings.. Im not using my Receiver via HDMI... my Receiver is being used for ONLY Audio. no video.. But i did happen to catch that when i change the source it says "Dialogue Norm (- 4 db)" ....so basically my sound is off from the video i guess by "- 4 db" which doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me... but its quite annoying..
  3. better to ask a noob question than to make a noob mistake! im sort of in the same boat as you, but i do know that on my subwoofer, if set at 70hz, it will play 70hz and below. But im not sure how it works with the towers and bookshelf speakers... I have all my speakers set to "Full" because i wasnt sure...
  4. I think i have mine set to FULL on all my speakers..
  5. Speaker Frequencies should be a set it and forget it. Its that way on my Onkyo Receiver... I have mine set on Auto to select best sound according to the source, otherwise, you can always change it on your remote as well if you prefer certain preset during certain source..
  6. wheres all your equipment at? btw, is that a screen or did you paint your wall and add a border to it? I wondered if there was a specific paint that is recommended to use for a projector "wall screen"
  7. Im certain i will as well! When my wife and i buy/build a new house, i'll be sure to upgrade from these when i have a dedicated room. lol
  8. Seems like it sounds better, but i'll give it more time, i'll ask few other people to come over and see what they think, or what they "HEAR" Thanks! Time to replace all the bookshelf speakers with surrounds instead though.. i think that would help a lot better too....any input?
  9. YES! Stay with Reference! Synergy speakers are great, i have some but keep things in line with all reference. I prefer the reference speakers over the synergy speakers, just havnt done the switch yet lol.. Like people have stated, shop on craigslist or ebay for a good condition set of used ones, you can get em pretty good price if you shop right.. Dont settle, get the reference surrounds, just look look and look some more until you find em!
  10. Thanks man! Looks like your a Reference guy, Im a big fan of the Reference speakers, but since I started with a 3.1 Synergy setup, i quickly added the rest of the setup with more Synergy speakers.. if i could do it again from the start, i'd bought a Reference setup. lol.. BUT.... for the price, i couldnt beat my home setup!! lol..
  11. Well, moved my rears around a bit... let me know if this seems like an improvement from what i originally had...
  12. Thank you for your knowledge, I'll play with it a bit see what sounds the best. I'll eventually get different speakers. I'll get a set of surrounds instead of bookshelf speakers, I heard it was better for hearing surround sounds all around you especially in a 7.1. Thanks again!
  13. Well I'm actually selling the surrounds on the left and right. I'm switching to 5.1 for now. As for the rears, there's always people sitting on the couch and the love seat, so how do I direct the sound for both? I just angled them to face in between both. I can put them on the back wall facing back of seats but I felt like sound wasn't heard as much from the love seat in center of the room.
  14. just saw it on parts-express for 199.99 Idk anything about it other than that... lol
  15. Well, im newly married and this is our first place and I've always had the "5.1 in a box" type of deal, now that we got our own place so I bought a 7.1 Let me know what you think.. 46" Samsung LED HDTV Onkyo Receiver Klipsch F3 Towers (Left & Right Front) Klipsch KV-1 Center (Havnt upgraded yet...) Klipsch SB-20 (Left & Right Surround) Klipsch SB-20 (Left & Right Rear Surround) Klipsch Sub-10 Here some pics... (thanks to my wife for decorations)
  16. Cerwin Vega is very reputable and popular here in the US as well as many other countries, i havnt had first hand experience on Vega subs, just towers, but towers kick and i wouldnt think any differently with a CV sub. I would find something suitable for your space. If you want tight bass go with sealed box, but i would recommend higher wattage capabilities if you are looking for tremendous bass for all those explosions and actions in films. Ported sub will give more bass and deeper bass and sound will carry farther if you have a larger space. Will also hit those lower Hertz as you desire. If you have some local shops, check out the subs they offer, go take a listen and see what you like. Good luck! and congrats on your Klipsch Speakers
  17. Where's my wallet I need to upgrade.... Lol.
  18. I'll have to check my manual. I think I have aTX 800 something. It auto adjusts defending on the source I use. So if I change to ps3 or HD Cable box, it adjusts each one.
  19. Sounds like that is the term used to describe my issue.
  20. I have a nice set of klipsch towers nd bookshelves hooked up with an Onkyo TX receiver. My receiver auto adjusts the sound (-) or (+) db's to "match" sound with video.... But how can I adjust this in my settings? It is too far off.. I think it shows up " - 4 dB " Any help, THANKS!
  21. Hello, thank you for your input. What would you say my following Klipsch speakers are worth? - Klipsch SB-2 Bookshelf Speakers - Klipsch KV-1 Center Speaker Cosmetically they are 9/10. (I would say 10/10 but they aren't brand new) I replaced my bookshelf speakers with the Klipsch B-20's and still looking to replace my center speaker as well with the money from selling these SB2's and KV-1. Thank you for your input.
