    HT Woes

That is the App I use and it works well enough to level out channels. It made a big difference in my set up after auto calibration matching up my rc64 with rf35 towers.....best 99 cents Ive invested in HT
  2. I just set up an old H659 harmony remote on Saturday (got it for 20 on kijjiji) for my 70 yr old pops and hecalled today to say its been a god send and has it learned already.
  3. I was quickly typeing so I could go bowling. I will be even more excited when I get my new receiver and replacement ps3. You'll need one of these to operate your PS3 with the harmony.....works well http://www.logitech.com/en-ca/remotes/accessories/devices/5732 http://blog.logitech.com/2010/05/11/harmony-tips-and-tricks-controlling-your-playstation-3-with-a-harmony-remote/
  4. Oh I know it was a score!...even better was the guy lived 45 mins away from me and I do not drive. We got talking about ways to get them when he said his father lived 3 blocks away from me and was picking him up for a boat show. 150.00 delivered ! He was selling for his church and they set the price....I did tell him they were worth more but he insisted thats what they wanted for them.[<)] I live in an apartment above a store. My little Klipsch xw-300d sub elevated up off floor fills up the bottom end nicely until I move and go bigger. It really ccompliments my heresy's well with 2 channel listening and did well with the 81's for 2.1 listening.
  5. I just found a pair of 81's for 150.00 and replaced my rb61's in the back as well. I concur with gsxr they sound ALOT fuller in the back as surrounds. I did try them as fronts for a few days and they sounded almost as good as my rf35's up front especially with the rc64. The 81's will do well as fronts until your ready to upgrade and move them to the back. JMO
  6. The missing email response WAS posted in my email . I will call them soon and see how to figure out which firmare is on it to see if sending it in is worthwhile or necessary for the remote Thanks YM I appreciate the help
  7. Thanks YM, I was going to call them from work tomorrow and look into it. Still haven't started to hook it up yet....just dont have enough dedicated time to do it properly this week. Look forward to hearing the response. Steve
  8. Youthman, I havent called Emo yet on that remote. If you have the old one still and I can't get new one from them at reasonable price would you consider selling me your old one? Glad to hear about the great service.
  9. That's cool your happy!....Did you get the one that extends out? If so love to see or hear how your liking it. I love extending mine out as it gives a floating look to it. Looks Great!
  10. I have not contacted them yet as I was out of town on film set since I bought UMC-1 Monday. Seller stated he never had the big remote and only had small one the whole time. I forgot to ask if he was original owner. I will post back when I find out. Thanks again for all your help. I'll be hooking it up over the weekend .
  11. Yes it has UMC-1 on very bottom of pic. I can't find info on it really. Just curious as to the difference and see the difference with Harmony settings.. Either way looking forward to testing it out on weekend. Thanks again
  12. here it is...best I could do quickly
  13. Picked it up tonight. I connected it quickly to squeezebox and 12w tube amp to Heresy II's and played a few tunes through Direct. Love the sound without tweaking anything,so looks at first glance it'll be an upgrade to what I have if the handshake issues dont come up. He stated he had no trouble with HDMI and both sat and cable boxes. Thanks again YM for the info I needed to make a more informed quick decision. No card came with it and it only came with small remote. I'll try loading a couple pics.
  14. My thinking on it is on line with YM's without his knowledge or experience with the UMC-1. I'm going to pul;l the trigger tonight and set it up on the weekend when I have the time. Still curious if I can use both the analog and digital coax from Logitech squeezebox Duet (which I'm loving) into the UMC for both my tube amp > Heresy II's and coax into UMC output to Carver amp > 5.1 RF's Thanks guys,I really appreciate the info and links
  15. From the Beaches in Toronto Welcome Rob !...nice to see another TO boy on here! Great site with great people here and it'll make you dizzy with the wealth of info on here!
  16. Thanks guys for the responses. YM thanks for the links as it was very helpful seeing where you started and where your thoughts on it now are. The seller stated he only has the "plastic smaller remote" and the Emo site recommends NOT doing latest FW update if you dont have the big metal one. My question is with my Harmony 1 (I see YM has same one) would it cover all options with the big one I'd be missing? I will call EMO regarding getting one as suggested on their site. My biggest concern from the readings is the Cable/Sat box drop outs some report ,but only one way to find out![] I like the reveiews on 2 channel music. Could I then set up my Squeezebox Duet to run both analog (zone 2) to Tube amp then to Heresy II's and digital coax for HT Carver amp and my RF 5.1 system? If so I can eliminate a tube soundstage pre amp I like but is finicky. I think for 300 I'd like to test it out and keep my Pioneer 9130 for awhile for back up if the UMC doesn't fit my needs. I work in the film industry here and my friend is a sound engineer on set and is willing to come over for an afternoon and tweak (I think it will be a bonus to have "Dawn of the Dead" playing while the guy who recorded it for the movie tweaking it,great action, great music I think reward over risk makes it worthwhile. Thanks again guys
  17. I have the chance to buy a very good condition UMC-1 for 300. Would it be an upgrade or lateral move coming from my Pio vsx9130? I can use the extra HDMI inputs. Like to hear how the latest firmare update is working out fixing the known bugs. Thanks Guys!
  18. My Monoprice mount extends 26' and has held a 60 inch plasma (90lbs) easily and is very sturdy....just aFYI.....I have no worries it holding
  19. Sounds like a satalitte signal lock issue and not getting the CW (control Words= like a key to open up the channel) consistently. Check signal strength of satalitte ,maybe a dish tweak might bring in a better signal to lock faster. Its not the cables if your getting a signal to pass through.
  20. I've been using thisMonoprice one for a couple years and love it...very solid all around http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=109&cp_id=10828&cs_id=1082806&p_id=8586&seq=1&format=1#largeimage
  21. nevermind, I realised my post wasn't helpful and edited it out.
  22. I used to be a stand up comedian and was known as an acerbic tounged host . I was sitting around with other comics after a show, a guy walked up to praise a fellow comic who is fantastic and said to him " you were funny but too clean for me'...myu buddy said "thanks but if your looking for filth in your comedy there's A Joker To See" and pointed at me. I just shortnend it to ajoker2c.
