So i just picked up a pair of consecutive serial number Heresy I's and am excited to say the least. They are not in mint condition and I would like to do what I can to get them looking and sounding as best as possible.
Neither one has the paper labels on the back anymore. From what I have read, the process for restoring the wood can be different based on what the cabinets are made from. I am hoping someone can help me identify them. I know I'm never getting the labels back, but in situations with missing labels, is there a common practice? Do people create some kind of new label just so that the information is back with the cabinets or no?
I am excited to open them up so we can see what and if anything has been done to them but I have yet to do so because I wanted to post here beforehand, is there anything I need to know before I open them up?

no need for labels the serial nos are engraved in the back ----WHO ---------they are not bad for the age and this is real plywood with a walnut veneer , versus MDF ======open the backs -----you might have a K22-K55V-K77M ----------or they might be k22-k55V -K77 round -----and E networks in either version ------

I'm also not set on this amp so any pointers would be hugely appreciated. My budget is around £1,000 ($1,250) for speakers and amp.
Thanks!

Hello,
I have a Promedia GMX A-2.1 computer speaker system that I bought sometime around 2005. I actually really liked it and used it a lot until I started having trouble with one channel cutting in and out depending on where the volume knob is set. It got annoying enough that I replaced it and it’s been sitting on the floor of my closet. I need to get rid of it so I can get the space back, but I don’t want to throw it away because the speakers are all fine. I’ve taken apart the little little Controller/preamp module and tried cleaning things up, but I suspect that the volume potentiometer needs to be replaced. I’d love to send it to a good home where someone might know where to get the needed replacement parts and actually be able to use it. Anyone know where I might find people who want this thing?
put the add on the garage sale , maybe someone in your area will snap it up -

sorry, that should have read; two ten inch woofers will push almost 50% more air than a single 12 inch woofer can and you will have higher power handling due to the dual voice coils. which presentation you will like will be up to you. Speaker set up counts for a lot and I never recommend you listen off axis as so many folks do, you only have to look at the off axis response of any speaker to understand why I say this yet most people do not listen on axis. Just a comment as to overall spectral balance the Forte and the Forte ll are both better than the KG5.2 but even with that I still prefer a good two way over a good three way.
thanks Moray - Cheers

I would say a 2A3 -is best -----that the option you show , but the budget would need to be raised -

The tangent is a Forte in its parts people will say the cabinet is not as good as a Forte I don't see the difference. This will come down to your preference do you prefer a two way or a three way. The KG5.2 should have a set of Bob Crites titanium tweeter diaphragms installed to make a fair comparison and you can swap out the ti diaphragm into the Forte when you listen to them so the comparison will be fair. The Dual tens of the 5.2 will push almost 505 more are than a single 12" woofer in the Forte. I would suggest if the prices are good buy both compare them sell the pair you like least. Both two ways and three ways have strengths and weaknesses the balance you will prefer only you know. The only way you will know is to make the comparisons for yourself in your system. Nobody here can tell you what you will like.
that's interesting , a KG 5,2 has 2 firing 10 inch woofers , no contest - -

I think he meant the most number of tests worldwide , which should be a correct answer ---
