  1. Ok, the only place I could put them was on top of my dresser...this is my bedroom system. Being a bachelor has it's advantages I need to find a nice pair of speaker stands, about 20 inches high,if anybody uses a stand like that let me know please. Now to hook these babies up and see how they match up with my 1989 K horns. They all have the composite squawker horns so I think they will match up good. Just looking at these Heresys a day after I'd say they were about 90 pct+ maybe...any way I'm happy as a clam. Will post later as today is a definite BBQ day...happy labor day.
  2. I thought about your post last night....and remembered seeing AR3a's selling on Ebay for 5x of what I paid for these. Supply and demand I guess. I remember in high school looking in the Allied catalog and visiting Pacific Stereo and wondering if I would ever own some of this stuff. It took me 50 years to find a pair of Heresys. My reaction is compared to other vintage speakers of the day....son of a.....these are cheap. Btw I'd take a horn loaded speaker any day over a AR type bookshelf just because of the CD design.
  3. Ok, I got home and realized I needed to clean up the arse end of these. Not bad considering I've seen some bad ones. I really like how Klipsch matched the veneer on these. I love to buy vintage.... Also I used a tidbit of wood putty to fill some small nicks on these in dark walnut. Not a perfect match, but it does work well. Keep the lid tight because it will dry out. A small jar will last me one hundred years. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006SQ97E/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  4. I finished them up and the seller was right....A light cleanup and a bright 36 year old penny. Thanks to Randy and Billybob et al for the info and support....a great forum. Will post what I think of the sound as soon as I get these hooked up....time to get out of the house...it's Sunday.
  5. Ok I cleaned them up...at least the cabs with a mixture of boiled linseed, minwax dark walnut (just a little) and turpentine. Rubbed it in with 0000 wool. Not done yet,but I just wanted to show you guys. The're not perfect...but good enuf for the girls I go with. Will finish them and then on to hooking them up. Thanks!
  6. Done deal Of course if they are mis represented then I get my money back. It was done on Ebay Paypal
  7. Hi, The seller will deliver them about 1'oclock PST so I'm patiently waiting....torture really. I'll post probably late after noon, photos and my thoughts on the SQ. Many on here said just enjoy your KHorns they will be fine and they were right.
  8. Well I got the idea off another forum....stupid me. I should have researched here first. BTW I think the thread that put me on the wrong track was about the so called "1.5" transition model. I found this on the Historian forum here. Makes sense given the year of manufacture. So other than the crossover? and the woofer what else is different. Another thing has anybody converted a series 6 to a Klipsch II ? Worth doing? Not that I would do that. Ok just noticed the tweeters are different so there is a big difference between them. Another question is the Series 6 made of MDF or plywood ? SIXTH series of Heresy (last version of Heresy I ) TW: K-77-M(Electrovoice T35 Ferrite) MID HORN: K-701 (plastic material) + K-53-K WOOFER: K-22-K CROSSOVER: Type E2 Klipsch Heresy II (’90) TW: K-76-K MID HORN: K701 + K-53-K WOOFER: K-24-K
  9. Ok, and I'm reading about the K52 which has a 1.5" diaphragm vs a K55...but the 52 should match up fine in the Heresy. Pardon my ignorance as I'm just trying to learn about my new Heresys. The seller will drop them off to me tomorrow. I'll post some photos and thoughts when I get them running.
  10. So Randy what do I have? As mine look like your K52 if I'm reading your post right.
  11. So at $500 I'm not going to complain....but I would like to know what the consensus is on the "K" driver versions vs the older Heresys . I know PWK was always trying to keep costs down, but did the sound improve?
  12. Hi Randy....you remember about my Khorns....I was looking for a set of Heresys locally and these popped up.
  13. Correct, These speakers as far as I can research must be later as they have the Klipsch mid and woofer. Here are the Serial #'s maybe somebody can figure out what they actually are. Also talked to the seller and he said that they would require a light touch up with a oil based finish to look very good.
  14. Hello, I just pulled the trigger on a pair of Hersey speakers....is $500 too much? They were untested HWO's
  15. Are they only catching up... I think on the Khorns maybe but the lesser heritage I think that is debatable. A Heresy,Cornwall,LaScala have they improved that much in 40 years? I can buy a recent pair of black Heresys LN for $1200 and older ones for $600. It seems like nothing ever goes down...buying new anymore is a luxury.
  16. Just for looking at the photos and this Klipschorn is a nice piece of history. https://www.ebay.com/itm/304084724961?mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&campid=5338381866&toolid=10001&customid=c4ec5112-028c-11ec-9e8b-393333333365
  17. In one of my systems I use a set of mono blocks that deliver 80 watts class A and 1200 watts class AB. Though not Klipsch speakers they are about 96db efficient. My volume control never goes beyond 11'oclock. I listen to a lot of classical and big band Jazz and I'm sure there are peaks of power usage greater than 200+ watts. Headroom is a wonderful thing and I'm sure you'll be fine...just be mindful of all that power because high SPL's can be deceiving and could damage your hearing. I know the total amplifier power in that system is 4000+ watts. My HT system is 18,000 watts......no problem.
  18. You are totally ignorant and can't even read my comments on my chart correctly. I made a exception here and posted....but I'm done with you.
  19. Yes Sir.....I will no longer post in this thread. Thank you
  20. Well as a long time audio and music lover I always wanted Klipschorns but just recently popped up in my area. As far as the Stock market I have studied them since high school. I can generated a large amount of trades especially when the trend is fast and large such as the Covid top and bottom. Most on here are not old enough to remember the last real bear market in the U.S. when the Dow bottomed at 574....I can.
  21. Japan has the highest debt to GDP ratio in the world. If it has done 5 down and 3 up,it will thrust down in a 3rd wave. The UST Bond is just started it's 3rd wave. If short term rates rise a 1/2 percent...these highly debt leveraged countries are in trouble. Once short term rates rise the Central Banks are powerless. We will see.
  22. Of course they would. They need a transition from the conventional form of free market money to a totally traceable controlled digital currency, How do they do it? Remember never let a crisis go to waste...with these Jackals out of chaos comes less Liberty.
  23. I think you could restore them to a reasonable degree. I wouldn't paint them.
