[Empire 698 or Dual 1218?]

Hello, I have a choice between 2 turntables for purchase. Anyone familiar with the Empire? I am a little familiar with the 1218 as my room-mate in college had one.

Yes Mark, but have you heard your Scott amp with an original set of 7591 tubes and was there a difference? I have a Scott 299D with original tubes and wondered if anyone compared the original to the JJ's to hear a difference???

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has a tube amp that uses the old "7591" and "7591a" tubes and if they ever replaced them with the new JJ 7591S tubes from Tube Depot? And if you did, were you happy with the sound, or disappointed??? Inquiring minds, you know..................

So, Mr. James.........having them raised off the floor like in your picture (and they do look durn good!) improves the sound by a large amount ?? - although you might lose a little in the bass end, I'm guessing?
