  1. Gary, I didn't catch that you asked about Subs and your amp. Its easy to run a sub use your center channel out it is unamplified mono signal. I use a Sub with both my systems. It works perfect and raises and lowers by your 299s volume control. Plug it into the Low input on the sub set the sub to cut off just above what your lascala drop off at and than turn the volume on the sub while your at your most frequently used listening level to where you just hear the sub don't turn it up to loud it ruins the sound all together. 2. Hi Gary !! This is Craig from the HH Scott forum. Looks like we travel in similar circles LOL !!!! How could you even consider anything but a matching Scott Tuner ?? LOL !!!! They really do work nice. Of coarse you will end up with another unit to give a tune up too (pun intended). I have a LT-110B that works pretty good. All I did was retube it. I think I'm going to have to recap it also its still not perfect. I also have a HH Scott early 70's SS reciever that I use that really does a bang up job as a tuner using its tape outs. Really there are tons of good tuners out there. FM these day's sucks as a source anyway so I wouldn't get to bogged down with it. 3. tblasing First off NOS stands for Nitrous Oxide systems 440 stands for .060 over bored 427 Big Block chevy. So I'm no mopar man LOL !!!! I just recieved a reply from Grado on my cartridge problem. I'll tell you one thing I'll never buy another one from them this is there response to my Hum problem. "Hello Craig: Our cartridges are not shielded by design. You are picking up motor noise from your turntable. Sorry. Regards, Grado Labs" Do you believe that. There big time cartridges can't perform as well as el cheapo most likely from the 60's Radio Shack brand. Some company they are !!! ------------------ HH Scott 299 Amp HH Scott LT-110B Tuner HH Scott P-87 Turn Table Grado cartridge Sony CDP315 CD Drive 1985 Walnut Heresey I KSW-15 Subs>c>
  4. Man that sucks !!! Do you know that the IRS really has reasonable interest rates. Why didn't you just make payments as long as you file that you owe them and send something every month they don't penalize and the the interest is dirt. Unless of coarse another payment is out of the question. I'd have to be way more desperate before I would sell my prized toy's owing Uncle Sam really isn't all that big of a deal. Been there and done it many times. Well good luck and look at it this way now you get to buy new stuff all over again which is half the fun. 5. Okay I was reading thru this thread about cartridges and hum. I have a Scott P-87 TT. About 2 months ago I bought a Grado ZTE+1 cartridge and didn't think much about Hum after I installed it. Anyway's I have allot of hum with the TT hooked to my Amp but none with it unhooked so I started messing with it today. Nothing I did seemed to help at all. I also would like to add that it hums somewhat less when it resting in its cradle and as its moved closer to the record it hums more and more. So I got out my old Cartridge that came with it which was a Shure with a Radio Shack\Shure stylus. What do you know !! no more hum at all no mater where the arm is. Does anyone have any Idea why the Grado would hum so much ?? I love vinyl but know little or nothing about Needles and setup. I just set the weight so it doesn't float and sounds good and anti skate so it doesn't skate LOL !!!!! I'm thinking of buying one of those $20 weight setup tools and trying to do this right but would also like to have a good cartridge to start off. I also have a Empire Cartridge that needs a needle anyone know If Empires are any good ? As far as that goes how about the Shure ?? Thanks Craig ------------------ HH Scott 299 Amp HH Scott LT-110B Tuner HH Scott P-87 Turn Table Grado cartridge Sony CDP315 CD Drive 1985 Walnut Heresey I KSW-15 Subs>c>

  13. I think I'd rather work on trying to get better bass out of them then to muffle the Highs. Have any of you guy's done any mods that you thought helped the Bass out on your Heresy's. I even thought of buyiong those replacement woofers that are available for $79 each and give them a try. 14. Well they are slightly harsh in the extreme highs at times But over all they sound nice. I would bet that this mod does some changes to the entire top end sound of the speakers ? Am I right ? Maybe it wouldn't be a great idea for mine. 15. I guess that is Rope caulk it looked just like white fiberglass blanket material LOL !!! He did a nice job. How much of the stuff does it take to do a pair ? Also is it worth doing it to a set that had plastic horns ? 24. Oh and yes guy's that's 9:88 in the window. Not bad for 10" slicks and slapper bars with a pump gas motor LOL !!!!! Actually before I parked it 2 years ago it ran 9:20s at 158 mph with 1.38 60 ft times. With my $11K motor, Traction bars and Mickey Thonpson's new 28" X 10.5"W tire designed for the fastest street car shootout Super Street cars. It was a real hairy ride so I decided to give it up for a while and decide what to do with the car. Tame it down or have it 4 linked. I'm still debating. Right now a buddy of mine has spent about 20K on the mustang that were going to put my Chevy motor in and see if we can hit bottom 8's. The chassis was done by Diamond collison here in Flint Michigan. Car should weight in at about 2800 lbs with driver.
