  1. Its been a long time since I owned a Rolls, I now drive a car with broken windows I Want a Cadillac, Want a Cadillac, Want a Cadillac Oooo yeah, Oooo yea, Oooo yeah, Oooo yea, Need a car loan, need a car loan, need a car loan I will never, ever , ever pay the loan on time!
  2. So the NFL Sunday Ticket is available on Direct TV? I forget. And if so how many HD programs are available. I'm mostly interested in first the movie channels and then some sports. I don't care about the news, Jay Leno and all those other channels like Discovery,ABC, NBC, CBS that burn their logos into your RPTV's screen.
  3. I'm sure it sounds great on your system, moon, and the DVD's audio comes over pretty well on mine but I have to agree with a few of the points RF made. Some of it is done well. There are moments the bass is pretty loud but I don't think this is anywhere near a reference sound track and I feel the same way about all the other DVDs in this trilogy. The surrounds aren't used enough. These so called "professional reviewers" that are giving the audio 5 out of 5 stars need to have their heads examined or better yet their sound systems. You want to hear real bass? Pick yourself up the DTS version of The Haunting and compare it to any DVD out there that people claim has outstanding lows and you'll find out what I mean. Also try Underworld. Theres just no comparison. Take my word for it. If it's on the sound track my system will give it every chance to shine but this DVD is just lacking some kind of punch it deserves and I blame it, again, on the people that mixed it. As many of you know I use RF-7s for fronts and surrounds and dual SVS Ultras for bass so I think I can push most sound tracks pretty well. I did like the movie. It's pretty entertaining and has great special effects. It's fun. In fact Im a big matrix fan so perhaps thats why Im so critical of the way it sounds versus what it COULD sound like. Of course that's just my ears opinion but look at the size of those babies! And MOST important, Moon, you should keep the machine God as your avatar for a while. It suits you. He he he he
  4. I dont worry about women fixing their vehicles. I worry about women DRIVING their vehicles!!! And another one gone, and another one gone Another one bites the dust!
  5. If these people in the record business haven't learned their lesson after all their whining over the money they lost trying to make a fast buck in the 3D (Disco Disaster Decade) they can all eat cake. They still haven't learned to invest in talented artists instead of worrying about if their electronic garbage music is being ripped or if Miss Spears got married or not.Give me a break. They've turned A&R into the Angles and Ripoff department. Phooey.
  6. Well, Lee, I know exactly where you are coming from when you said I hate the thought that I will never be able to enjoy it on my HD-ready TV. I have a Mits 55807 and have given it every tweak in the book except for the Duvetyne treatment only because Im not sure it is worth the trouble. Ive done practically all the work on the set myself since I had it initially professionally calibrated by someone who had the equipment to do grayscale of which Ive tweaked a little myself. Other than that Ive adjusted the geometry, electro and mechanical focus, reinstalled new convergence ICs and went the whole nine yards in eeprom hell getting the color decoder right with my own I2C cable using primarily the Kwik-Fix program but also Ponyprog. The reason Im giving you all this background is because I purchased the set off the floor with the intention of performing all these tweaks myself . I told the sales manager I didnt want a set out of the box. I wanted the exact set I was looking at in the store. I knew what to do with it once I got it home and in my opinion nothing looks as good as a fine tuned Mits. And fine tuned they must be or youre just wasting your money on a great TV. After a bunch of haggling, which also saved me money, they agreed to give me what I wanted. Heres my point. Ive seen what a fantastic picture THIS exact set can get with HD programs that were fed to it in the store I purchased it from. It will knock your socks off. I know it looks great with my DVD players feeding it 480P and I have standard definition digital cable going through an iScan Pro to improve the picture. With all that said it burns my tail to have to make a choice between the mediocre services and limited programming Vroom, Direct TV, Dish Network and my Adelphia cable company has to offer in HD. I dont have a set top box and antenna for over the air programming because I live in nowhere land. The best I can figure is to have Vroom, of which I know little about, AND keep the cable service I have at the same time in order to have some of the bases covered as far as picture quality in SD and HD and digital sound is concerned especially on the movie channels. Pretty crazy, Id say, when your TV viewing ends up costing twice as much as your electric bill.

  10. Just tell your wife youll have to get a 950 since the 1050 is discontinued unless you are looking for a used one. I get their newsletter. I like them and some of our forum members, like ShapeShifter, swear by them. Go to the outlaw audio.com site and look up the 950. Click on the Heist of the century flashing just below the picture of the processor. It will take you where they are offering B stock combo packages with 3 different amplifiers. Good Luck.

BB had two different Revolutions packages, one had the CD-Rom inside the shrink wrap and the other didn't. The DVD was the same in either case. I picked up the one without, and then noticed the one with, so (of course) I put the first one back and kept the one with the bonus CD. I looked at it a little on my notebook here at the office, but not enough to say if it's worth putting any extra miles on your car just to go to BB to get it (the Bonus CD). BTW, I bought Animal House & The Blues Brothers in a twin pack also while I was there. $19.99 for the pair. Dave ---------------- Man you're killing me here ,Dave. I might have to go for that Animal House/Blues Brothers deal too. Yea the little cd was included in the package for Matrix 2. It was limited to a certain number to each BB store. Hey m00n! How do you rate a T-shirt? I'll trade ya one RS-7 for one. he he he he he

I picked up Revolutions (& Reloaded) at lunchtime today. Dave ---------------- Good deal. Hey m00n. What's with the extra DVD. Do they offer one. I got a small one with Reloaded.
