  1. My Serve. LOL

I personally have gained more speakers than I've lost due to the alerts section so I like it !

That being said I've never posted an alert. If I'm interested I respond and go right away (Yes I wanna be like Mike)

Besides if I see something you can bet Opusk2k9 has already seen it and posted it or bought it.

I have and will back off if someone does posts they are interested ahead of my making contact but I don't personally post that I'm in or out.

My feeling is if people post in alerts it does alert forum members to good deals and that's a good thing. Not posting still leaves the the rest of the world to contend with. I would rather lose out to a forum member than someone else.

  2. I agree with Youthman and Minermark. Samsungs are hard to beat and definitely 120Hz or better.

I do have 3 TCL's that were very inexpensive and have not disappointed one bit. One is almost 3 years old and the other 2 are almost 2 years old and not one problem with any of them.

I don't know about their smart TV's because I don't use one , I always run a HTPC in front of everything.

I am not insulted and will guarantee you know more than I do !

It is very possible the Emo's are no good for most Klipsch or very efficient speakers as I have not tried.

I just wanted to let the OP know that $4$ (I know I know) that the Emotiva may be a viable solution and that I really like mine.

Heck for 2 Channel as soon as I can find out where JimJimbo lives, I'm going to "borrow" his Stereo15,  that amp switched my thinking.I never had any interest in Tubes before I heard it. Show's how much I have to learn !

There are some great people on this forum some very knowledgeable and some like me don't know squat . I will agree there is some bad advice given out here from time to time but rarely with malice, mostly just trying too hard to help and luckily there are enough knowledgeable members to reign that in. I don't post much because I would rather keep my mouth shut and let people think I am stupid. Rather than open my mouth and prove it !

A great community to be a part of none the less!

  4. I  have 2 Emotiva XPA5's  that have been running for 6 years without hiss or glitches .They are running a THX Ultra2 System which aren't as efficient as most Klipsch. A Classe SSP300 is the Pre/Pro with that setup. I keep wanting to try the Emotiva's on the LaScala's I have or the MCM's to see what all the fuss is about but it's too much of a PIA to do it. I am fortunate enough to like these Amp's a lot and luckily everyone that has heard this Setup was uneducated enough to be impressed  :D at least until they hear the MCM's on K2's  :o

  5. I have or have had many Klipsch speakers all the way up to MCM's and I'm going to tell you that in my opinion

the KG5.5's are some serious speakers that will Rock your house !

I have a pair that I will never sell because they won't bring in enough money for me to consider letting them go for ! I actually have to fight the temptation to buy more because they are for sale at prices I know are a steal for the enjoyment they will bring you!

Jim is right they will kick your A$$

  6. It is great to see the gang here today.  Let's set a tentative gtg schedule.  On another thread I said if we don't start talking about a date, how often for the gtg then  it will be less likely to happen.  So, let's kick around some ideals.

I think if you are volunteering   You should pick a date and throw it out there.

We all want to try those *** Shakers  Rump rumblers Butt kickers those things under your couch !

  7. Maybe we can convince Gary to bring the stacks to next gathering at the Studio where room isn't an issue????????

Actually that's not out of the question. I have a trailer and 2 extra MWM bins on the enclosed porch. I can easily steal the tops off the ones upstairs. Plus I would love to hear them in a larger space  :D

  8. What????  You got an invite to Gary's place to see and hear "The Stacks"????Ok, now I get it....Gary was upset that he couldn't ****** the amp from me, and I didn't say goodbye, and I took that last piece of pepperoni pizza that was sitting in front of him in the kitchen.....OK for you Gary.....

You would have gotten one too , but you snuck out ! taking your precious with you :(  and never take food from a fat kid ! It makes us cranky

I think Derrick is next for a gathering, which is closer for some of you. I'm sure as heck not going after Seth but hopefully Derrick will lower the standards some. LOL  I think after that I could be persuaded to host or actually we could come to my place for a while and then maybe head out to Seth's Studio.

Ok so I've volunteered Derrick :)  I am volunteering Seth's studio, anyone else need me to  volunteer them?

One last thing anyone have Jim's address

  9. I have run Michelins for years and really liked them but they've become so pricey I switched to Nitto Crossteks which were considerably less money and I like them even better . Excellent traction and great on the highway.

Forgot to mention Made in the USA !

  10. If it's not too much trouble, could some of the pictures be labeled with identifications of good pics of individuals and pieces of equipment?  I haven't been able to figure out Seth's username, or if he's in a pic, who Lemonstring is, or where the sig others were, etc.  The equipment looks very imposing and very attractively placed and furnished.  I may never get there, but this is a good way to transport myself!  Thanks!

    Larry

Seth is Lemonstring. In the group photo's he the second one in (Flannel looking shirt with red in it) from the right side. The guy on the end is another one of Seth's neighbors (both of whom were really good guys).I guess you can't piss off your neighbors if they are with you. :) And yes it was a really nice place for a gathering, beautiful listening room ! and a huge kitchen right off of it able to accommodate several large pizza's, several bottles of refreshment's, and several hungry listeners. The house was almost as accommodating as Seth and his wife.

  11. Also a huge Thank You to you Gnote!!! we just got back...   WOW lol every turn in your house was a holy cow! I mean I just wanted to check out some stacks lol   Great afternoon. Thank you so much for your time and demo's.

    Beeker

It was my pleasure I enjoyed it as well. One of my favorite things was in between songs when a large rumble came from the other room and Katie was in there Rockin the movie Battleship pretty good. She can definitely hang with anyone! Mark is a fun guy who enjoys his audio and gear as much as anyone I've met.

  12. I like the way the "Baby Cornwalls" are using the "daddy Cornwalls" in the first photo, as a makeshift wall/floor reinforcement for the rear bass port, which they need.

Is they how you guys listenened to them? Otherwise the bass is weaker up on stands like the other shot.

So did they live up to their hype, or was I barking up the wrong tree when I did the mods?

Friends, Romans, Klipsch countrymen, lend me your ears and your feedback! LOL.

As much as I hate to encourage You :)  They were very impressive !!

They were playing with Jims ampandsound and Jasons Table Tuba and I was thinking that's alot of quality sound from such a small attractive package. I actually had to walk up and make sure it wasn't the Cornwall's playing and those are some really sweet Cornwall's.

  13. It was a great time and like Jason said it was nice to put faces with names.

Seth, his family, and his neighbors were all great people.

Seth's system was a real treat ! and he set the bar really high for future get together's

Seth if your neighbor tell's you I harrased him about his speakers that's BS. Wait his speakers are B*S* .Wait  no I'm sticking to my original story.

To the Forum members if Opusk2k9 tells you I gave him a lot of grief about snagging all the good deals around here. OK that might be true  Also if JimJimbo tells you he had to leave early and didn't say Goodbye to me because I made him uncomfortable by asking where his ampandsound was spending the night. That was the alcohol talking !

I've never given Tubes a second thought but I wouldn't have to think twice about what Amp I would get next, for a 2channel rig.

JimJimbo's ampandsound was amazing !!! I was pretty stunned when it was playing with his super heresy's and Jason's Table Tuba which was as pleasing to listen too as it is to look at!

Great time! Great gear! and even better people!
