    :o

    lol

im not yet 40 so at the bodyshop there was an 8 track player growing up. Ole Lawrence was my first of only a handful...mom and dad had an addition put on the house with built in audio(ceiling speakers most of all then wiring ran to a built in cabinet) with wood paneling and shag carpet...It was pretty sweet...mic setup and all the good Disney records for us to sing along...

Gotta say with the 8 track setup they played records. I guess that's why an 8 track player ended up in the shop lol

would be interesting to see a factory 2 way lascala

Just curious on your thoughts of why the 2-way would be an upgrade to a 3-way design.

or your blueprint of the 7iii ultra though

Ha, I'm not sure that design has any potential of being a great speaker combined like that.  It was fun compositing it in photoshop though.

Now, that would be amazing, but me thinks not too likely.

Yeah, I'm not getting my hopes up on that one.

    Missed your post...

2 way lascala with 510 built in to top hat maybe factory split rather than on top mounted the way a couple or few people have done around here. That could actually end up being somewhat economical and would be the best 2 way speaker in production from any manufacturer imo...unless we go into the $12k range or use pro audio gear...Just a thought...Im sure it would get a ton of good attention, or attention regardless if good or bad and that's good in the long run normally...I have never heard this combo that im aware of but not being a 2 way person unless you go with good bookshelves basically and a descent powered sub id love to hear and consider buying.

At that point id love to see a 2 way cornscala type speaker redone with direct 15 and the 510. sort of like a 904 with a single 15 and maybe a passive like a chorus ii...Or even a dual 12 with the 510 sort of like the cf4...there are so many combos klipsch would really take leaps with putting pro gear together for home use that this forum and others would take attention to. And if they were to offer the pro style it would save cost for people who cannot or wont pay for fruitwood veneer(fruitwood is the most interesting if you can find it, and costly)or birch, oak etc...

Your photoshop 7iii is totally feasible. I hate saying it but I don't see the klipsch engineers of this day taking something like that on...and id say it would be more a pro rf7 and cost too much for any particular spot in the audio market but it would be sweet

A 3 way reference is a sure bet with great odds for klipsch imo and from many others from what I read...Not all the way palladium but 3 way klipsch reference is a homerun without doubt...

I gotta be real with what we see...

There is already a new reference soundbar and the rebadge icons is without doubt following voxx fashion. A great new speaker is below an option in the future with klipsch. We gotta be happy with what klipsch has already produced imo...and I hope im wrong....It is a tough world for audiophile production these days...but that's no reason to flop the already flops. Even if klipsch would make a new speaker for many audiophiles to buy may take a year or likely longer...unless its a real good speaker

  3. sounds like you maybe went to guitar center. although they all(near every shop) have no idea what their missing. most shops like that know their guitar gear. back in pa(pro audio section) you might find a kid that says he knows klipsch. people just don't know. I like to hang out at Walmart and tell everybody the story. its a classic one you have there. even eating at the restauraunt right out front of klipsch hq the waitress had no idea what klipsch was before the tour there a while back. I frickin tell everybody...I really do. I truly feel like its the good deed of the day...or 10+ good deeds for the day. I make sure they write klipsch down even if I have to find the pen and paper. being out on the road at times im like a klipsch rainman....ya never hear ah yeah I have a pair(pun intended...klipsch makes up for it if ya don't) ha.

I preach klipsch loud and long til theres a group gathering to listen if possible. I heard Chad say the other day on here how hes trying to keep people from buying speakers that suck...well that's the best way to look at it I figure...Man I spent so much time, money and something else I forget finding the gobs of sweet klipsch that there is. I kind of hope I wake up someday with amnesia and still have the audio passion...so I can find klipsch all over again...klipsch is no doubt the best thing other than my kid to happen to me(kinda) audio wise no doubt. wearing a klipsch shirt helps. the piss your neighbors off shirt may be an old one to all of us but man it puts a lasting picture and thought in everybody you meets mind. reminds me I either need to wash my new one or get another or more...wish there were more klipsch shirts and designs but take what I can cheers

First of all, I didn't realize the size of those beasts....they don't look that big in pictures....but, they were mighty impressive!  Pretty well balanced overall, but they do definitely thump....Didn't buy them as I thought they were WAY overpriced relative to what I've seen here on the forum and elsewhere, but at least now I know....And, interestingly and coincidentally, they were driven by a Marantz 2270B receiver, which I saw for sale earlier in the Garage Sale (not the same one)......nice unit.

I had offered you a demo of my personal chorus ii's a couple months ago(my preferred mains). If your impressed by stock chorus ii the clarity and thump my chorus ii's provide would be a step above or more.

Anyhow cheers on your chorus ii demo. In my opinion out of any klipsch ever made the chorus ii and the epic cf4 are truly in a league of their own. Then with mods they go beyond anything(although iv only heard stock cf4's) I have ever heard or truly prove their value at a fraction of many other manufacturers models by quite a bit, imo

Its amazing to demo all that klipsch has. Everybody has their own take with preference in sound and klipsch tailors to this variety with the variety of klipsch models

Well Beek, I had forgotten about that, and I thank you for it!!  One of these days....

Stop in next year...It'll be a hoot...and there will be some other interesting audio to demo as well...I don't sell though lol so many guys if you even step in their house they want you to buy lol If you don't you never hear from them again lol cheers!

  5. I have to mention older rotels are pretty good. I have a couple rotel receivers im keeping for the long haul. I don't know the model numbers but I have a black in color 20wpc rotel(870 or something rotel receiver) that hauls the mail.

Iv had it power huge speakers on a few occasions and to myself and friends it does very, very well. Not the most attractive or best built yet again does a great job comparing to most I have read that are listed on this thread.

The 8XX whatever model in particular, the small one I have is a bit rare. must be a reason

  7. I've been UNABLE to get anyone willing to work with me when it comes to pro gear... and I have emailed them all.

Yes in the past several months other than klipsch hq demo day back in june which and was not quite a full on demo and finding used and having 2 palladium demos(from online sellers, not nib) its not just pro gear its near everything. Iv made some other choices and may find some palladium bookshelves sometime although finding a more than willing rep to get a full on demo leading to a purchase iv been stranded for months...

I have found other resources now not anything to do with KLIPSCH and that's fine and maybe the way they want yet again when I called and left messages then never got back in touch with after multiple people being involved I resorted elsewhere and have dug my grip in there for now...Think about that im looking to possibly buy a pair of speakers for $20k and its not that easy do get done(both hunt the demo down and finance)lol Owe and im not going to go to far and buy without a full on demo...like I said I have found other ways to listen and buy klipsch for now and likely the future and that may be the way they want but it sucks, period

You name the palladium iv had the demo elsewhere nothing to do with klipsch(other than klipsch hq day back in june which was pretty limited). Along with my hunt I have found other speakers/gear that are a show all within themselves so I guess I won in the end which works okay...

Ultimately I am upset that I was never contacted by klipsch and had the opportunity to demo straight from the horses arse.

By the way...If I have a pair of speakers that cost that much in my home im not gonna let anybody know...they would be for me, strictly

  8. Im just gonna say...if they were closer.

Man its been a couple years since I heard all the epics and the 4's are incredible...In my future I see a pair that I will own. Seriously....Black preferred although any color would work considering the rarity of cf4's these days.

Those are without doubt some of the best speakers ever produced. Best of luck with sale!

Just looking for a bigger sound

Honestly, there is only so much you can get out of the RC-3II.  That's simply physics.  If you want a "bigger" sound from your center, I would think you would want to look for an RC-7.  It's a fantastic center.  It would not be voice matched but that might not be a bad thing considering it would be a big upgrade for your center.

Keep in mind, the vast majority of what you hear during a movie should come out of your center as this is where everything is happening....on screen.  But you should still hear plenty coming from your mains (mainly the music score, panning of effects etc).

Also do you have an SPL Meter to make sure all of your speakers are the same level?

Yeah my cholesterol is high so I better get out of this thread...whaooo, my BP too...later all! great luck to you on your journey op!

  10.

i have never seen the muppets nor sesame street. My childhood was Captain Kanagroo, Captain Satellite, and Romper Room, and San Francisco Giants baseball (Say Hey Willie).

    Me too.

Uh oh another religious and political link to make me turn on American cartoons lol my pc has no protection i'll be back to check this link out later lol

  11. Some speakers can be clustered.

Is it ideal? No, but neither is not having enough capability in the center channel for whatever reason.

Does it work in a real application? Yes. As mentioned first, some pairs can be clustered if need be....with negligible effects.

Can this be done with the RC3-II? Not in the horizontal plane. It's a D'Appolito.

I think Beeker's got the right idea adjusting levels.  :emotion-21:

Thanks for agreement...I will say sounds he is wanting bigger all the way around though. rf7/rc64 would be a great upgrade if you could find them on the economical side...then you should be quenched for a good nother 5-8 years

  12. great thoughts by all, I fiddle with the settings all the time. Just looking for a bigger sound

I would try waiting to buy if you do buy(and just a larger center may do the trick? but like said it never ends at that point etc...). Sounding like klipsch is releasing new stuff in the next 6 months. They already have although I would stick with what you have...the new stuff that's out may do the job but not as good as what you have imo

  13. I think I have everything adjusted pretty well......I am just getting greedy and want a little more.

Can I get more of a center without compromising my system?

Uh oh! you better wait to buy new klipsch may just release the big new sweet speakers everybody needs! I do feel you have a very ample and great setup to use in up to 400sq ft...from that noise ratio on I would suggest possibly larger..
