  1. http://tulsa.craigslist.org/ele/4950565814.html These are local..should I make an offer? They were at $1,000? I'm looking for front speakers that would go with reference series surround sound. Or should check into some heresy 2's for $360? Hmmmm? I am not in a hurry. I just haven't found any Klipsch speakers at a yard sale in awhile.....
  2. Okay. I am ready to go to a yard sale. Just tell me when and where. I just hope I don't find a phonograph on a stone turn table.... with a bird beak for a needle...and the price would probably be bigger boulders than I could carry.
  3. Before I contact the guy, how are these going to sound with the 52 reference series speakers - I am not that well versed with Klipsch tonal quality and all that....? Currently, I have the 52 reference series surround... and vintage pioneer hpm 100's for the main - not Klipsch - they do sound good ( - = . I am planning on putting the Pioneer's in the back room.
  4. http://springfield.craigslist.org/ele/4973962317.html I'm thinking about this, but it would be a 400 mile drive there and back....
  5. What is interesting is when an item is posted in both places right from the start. I would have thought that this place was kind of, you know, a garage, where we could hang out ...talk Klipsch...and maybe get a good deal. If it doesn't sell....then post it to EBAY. Maybe some folks are more interested in money...or making a quick sale..... than sitting in my duct taped la z boy...and talking Klipsch
  6. so, did you put these speakers in the basement...or sell them? harmony08
  7. I've been looking at this post with great interest. Before I throw any rocks your way, tell me about the warranty. I can see a lifetime warranty on the table, but would I get the same warranty for the bird and turtle?
  8. thanks for the responses. I remember also being told that these are almost identical to the heresy except the tweeter is different. For a smaller room, these might be a bit much for me if they are for commercial purposes...and maybe too steep in price (?).
  9. Klipsch cinema series chrs Heresy speakers ....saw these in a speaker repair shop today for $450 I can't find any information about them. I was told that they are used for commercial purposes....a picture? All I know is that they look like the Heresy II in black - with risers. If I didn't buy them they are going on EBAY soon. Non of these to be found on EBAY. I would appreciate any thoughts. harmony08
  10. Kenwood 7100 K A it is. Even though I will be streaming music through my computer, the top of the amplifier looks "bare". Maybe put a tuner on top for a "finished" look"? Do kids these days even know what a tuner is? Anyway, I was surprised how many used tuners there are and for great prices ,,,,,if a person would even use it. Maybe I'll find a case for it....or build one . I've certainly learned a great deal about integrated preamplifiers. Thanks again for the responses. Harmony08
  11. Thanks guys for coming into my garage. I know my La Z Boy needs some more duct tape, but hey...let's talk audio......Not only am I enjoying my quest, I am learning a great deal about audio equipment. I've not thought about Sansui.... Nothing like finding something great with a nice price off of EBAY or Craigslist and then find you need to spend big bucks to get it serviced. YIKES! I've got an audio tech guy here in Tulsa who is really good. The Marantz and the Kenwood I know he can service.
  12. My computer set up is using a Klipsch subwoofer and some Pioneer SP - BS41R I've got the kg .5 in the other room. I might swap out just to see how they sound with this set up.
  13. Passive speakers and a Klipsch sw 8 sub for nice computer sound.... streaming music, etc I've talked with Dave at Speaker Works here in Tulsa. These two models are what he recomended. I like the older vintage stuff that is in good shape. I don't want to get an A/V receiver. I just need something nice with speaker jacks and an input for the computer sound. (Klipsch recommends that the SW 8 be connected with speaker jacks when using bookshelf speakers.) This amp will be highly visible on a cabinet by the computer. So, I am really having a good time doing the Craigslist, EBAY..and checking with friends in the Klipsch garage. I am hoping someone will pull up a La Z Boy chair in my garage and tell me they've got on an old integrated amp they've had for years sitting around....they just didn't know what they were going to do with it.....I have a budget of $175. btw - I'm not in a rush on things. I am currently using a Harman Kardon 3485 that belongs to my daughter.
  14. Looking for an integrated preamplifier Marantz 1060 or a Kenwood 7100 AK...or something similar let me know. I've got a budget of $175. Harmony08
  15. Hope you don't mind, but I am going to start a separate post. Who would be looking for a wtb integrated amp under "Who's in Tulsa" ( - =
  16. Oh, what a beautiful piece of audio history.....The KA 9100 - cleaned up and ready to go...way out of my budget....Ebay had one for $1,000 or best offer.....
  17. I'm in Tulsa. Nice speakers. Hey, with all the Craiglisting and Ebaying you have been doing, along with being a veteran member - have seen a good integrated preamplifier at a reasonable price? Dave at Speaker Works here in Tulsa recommended the Marantz 1060 or the Kenwood 7100 KA - He said I should be able to get something like this for around $175 Ebay prices are not very pretty. 18. I've posted a question about the Topping TP30 MARK2 MK II USB amplifier earlier today. I am told that the Klipsch bookshelf speakers should do fine. Let me know if you still have the Klipsch Rb-81 II SPEAKERs - two of them - at this price? - and if so shipping to 74134 Harmony
  19. One thing is, you have to set your self a budget to keep from spending to much money. You sound like my wife ( - = So, this little amp has the power to drive the rb 51's and the 52's? I've got room for large bookshelf speakers, but not floor standing models.
  20. Happy New Year to all. I've got a day off and some time for a project. What Klipsch bookshelf speakers will go with the Topping TP30 MARK2 MK II USB amplifier specs - Parameter: impedance range 4-8Ω Maximum output power 16.3W (RL = 4Ω, THD + N = 10%) 9.7W (RL = 8Ω, THD + N = 10%) Output Impedance 0.2Ω Minimum Distortion 0.003% Typical Distortion (@ 1kHz) 0.012% Frequency response 20-20kHz ± 0.6dB Input sensitivity 390mVrms Noise floor <1mV Gain (@ 1kHz) 28dB My fans at home don't like the old powered speakers hooked up to our fancy new desktop. This project started out with hooking up an old receiver and speakers (borrowed) to have some great sound using non powered speakers. I went ahead and got the topping amp after reading a lot of reviews. Some of which state that I get speakers that will work within the specs. Here is where I start to get lost and things get fuzzy.....any suggestions for some Klipsch bookshelf speakers? If you've lost count of how many bookshelf speakers you have ...and they will work with this Topping amp, please let me know. Thanks. Harmony in Tulsa
  21. Played with things some more.... Problem solved - didn't do anything - maybe just unplugging the receiver and plugging it back n reset things on the Sony ES??? Anyway, the speaker works fine and I am leaving it alone!
  22. Thx 4 the resonse. This is an in wall - right now it is out of wall! I just checked and the speaker works fine on an older Pioneer receiver. The sound I heard was when I was trying to manually configure things with the SONY receiver - tone, etc. I thought I had double checked my wires. Could this b that my wires r crossed - seriously, I thought I had checked them twice.... My volt meter on the 5650 does not show any short. Hmmmm?
  23. This one sure has me puzzled. I bought a 5650 (one) from a guy, who tells me that he tested it b4 he sent it to me. I hook the 5650 up to my Sony str-da3600es receiver (6.1 suround) and then I get a message on the receiver that flashes protector...and then the receiver shuts down. I put on a Klipsch kg .5 bookshelf speaker - no problem. On a side note, when manually trying to adjust the sound, I tried the 5650 at 10 dB and it was still pretty quiet in the rear (13' away). So, the ? is, do I have a 5650 with issues? I read one post about setting the speaker to 4ohms....Receiver does not let me set one speaker 2 4ohms. I do not c any wires shorting anything out. Hmmmm???
  24. thx 4 the reply receiver has 2 rca jacks...no mono or lfe So, I wired the speakers 2 the sub 1st and then wired 2 the speakers....I am looking at a dedicated sub EBAY MK Vx-100
