  1. I am home and improving. These past few days have brought major improvements in my walking. And yes... my subs are working just fine. Another picture bit the dust today thanks to Youthman telling me about some oldschool bass with Techmaster PEB. picture didn't last 5 seconds into "just gimme that." I appreciate all the prayers.
  2. Thanks for checking. I am home and improving. These past few days have brought major improvements in my walking. And yes... my subs are working just fine. Another picture bit the dust today thanks to Youthman telling me about some oldschool bass with Techmaster PEB.
  3. In Stereo mode no flex. If set to direct on the AVR I still do.That is with all settings in all me yes set to small and crossover at 60hz.
  4. Yes. It was playing full range in direct or Stereo mode. Since the PS3 does the decoding those are the only ones really used, and both were playing full range when set to small. Until I changed it in this newly discovered menu.
  5. After running some REW sweeps and playing with the menu I found a sub-menu that changed everything. Under Manual Setup, there is a menu for Audio Setup. Separate from Speaker Config under Speaker Setup. There under Audio Setup there is a 2ch Direct/Stereo menu. When changing the settings to small in there it will then filter the low frequency from the fronts. Without changing that, the front receive full range even though they are set to small in the "Speaker Config" menu. Denon AVR-791
  6. I appreciate all the prayers and well wishes. I am doing very well all considered. I can walk using a walker or if I hang onto someone for balance. This should improve over time. I have been refered to Vanderbuilt University to see a specialist. I am waiting on that right now. I will be out of work for at least 6 more weeks. Thanks to all.
  7. Could have and should have are two different questions. I only had an extra 2" clearance for box height so I couldn't put full size ports on the front. I also was trying to match the factory design which is rear ported. The back of the "window" is closed off behind the ports so it works very well. Before putting the speaker in the hole I replaced the right speaker with the new center. With the sub turned off, I demoed several familiar songs and could not distinguish the right from left in terms of sound. As far as I can tell the new center sounds exactly like the original RF-7ii's.
  8. Next time you make a run South let me know. You are more than welcome.
  9. With Youth that way I don't need much of an excuse, but Miami is a LONG WAY from me. I do make many of the Bowl Games, but we usually half suck so tickets are $12 and it is a 2 hour drive.
  10. Hardest part of the entire project: I measured carefully and built the enclosure as large as I could and still squeeze it into the opening. I gave myself 1/16" clearance. No sense wasting the space. I need to back up and take a picture of the actual opening it goes in through. This is a double block wall under my living room fireplace. The opening is not directly behind the speaker window. It took as long to get it in here as it did to assemble the box. Rigid fiberglass Acoustic insulation for the back of the "window". The tomb is now shut, and will be for the foreseeable future. Just to share where all the fun actually happens. This is my basement shop. You can see the little closet behind the drill press on the left. That is the access to the back of my equipment rack.
  11. RF7ii as a center..... Doctor finally released me to start playing in the shop again, and my fantastic Wife hooked me up with an early Christmas present. A Rigid Table saw! First project is my new Center Channel. Youth found a guy selling RF-7ii parts on Craigslist. He wanted to build a center out of it since he has RF-7iis also, but decided it was to big. I ended up trading my RC-7 for all the electronics out of his RF-7ii that had the wood damaged in shipping. The plastic Horn was damaged so I ordered one from Klipsch. The worst part of all is I got so excited after putting it together I started doing some listening test and forgot to take a picture of the front of the speaker after it was put together...Doh! Seller Pic: I was seriously torn.... I was tempted to build it and veneer it with a nice wood and make it match my RF-7ii's....but it will be entombed behind my screen to never ever be seen. Decided not to spend the time or money on a finish just for the sake of doing it and went with just good old MDF. Dimensions of the enclosure are exactly the same as the original RF-7ii down to the Port size and length. Only exception is the "tower" height was reduced to 34" to fit inside the 36" window behind my screen. This is the part where I am grateful I made the opening behind the screen just big enough for an RC-64...just in case. Considering I had an RC-3 when I built the room apparently I had aspirations of upgrading one day.
  12. I second the Heresy's. My living room is 18x24x8 and fill the room nicely, but as said before, they really need a sub.
  13. As if not stating the obvious... This is a Beautiful theater. Must be a real bummer when you get stuck going to a crappy theater like IMAX and squint at the tiny screen. I am going to build Youthman similar masking for his @16:9. Seems like a simple enough way to do it. Very nice and clean setup.
  14. The RC-52 has two 1/4-20 threaded inserts on the "bottom" for the adjustment feet. These were used to mount. There are no external brackets. Bolts were inserted from inside the attic into the speaker to hold it to the ceiling. The grill on that model is reversible so it is not upside-down. Eight Small clear rubber stick on bumpers were added to the bottom (now top) to hold the speaker off the drywall 1/8". This way the paint can't stick to the speaker if he ever needed to take it down. The same bumpers were added to the back of the RB-61's to hold them off the wall.
  15. Receiver is in a closet in the back of the room. IR repeater will be installed, but it can be hit from the seating area as long as the door is open.
  16. PM sent Even though the faux panels can look ok, they won't make the natural look of real "man made" stone. Awesome job wavejunkie, looks spectacular. This is actually a natural stone veneer product from local big box store. Not man made stone, natural stone put into man made panels. Client picked this out themselves and I found it to go up very quickly and looks great. I have man made stone in my own HT and you would be hard pressed to tell the difference. Faux panels that come in sheets typically just don't have the depth to look real.
  17. Just finished another room. This one was done down in MS over two weekends. First weekend built the fireplace. Ceiling alcove and speakers were installed the second weekend. RC-52 and RB-61's 50" LG 120Hz Smart TV Mantel is one solid piece of Alabama Black Walnut. Before:
  18. I also have the Epson 8350. 130" Silver spandex 16:9 screen. I have been very pleased. Even during football parties when the lights are not all the way down it looks great. I do not run bulb on economy mode myself. With the silver screen the colors and contrast are fantastic, but a little dark in eco. Looks great in normal mode.
  19. I laughed all afternoon as Youth shared these with me. I noticed the fact that he owned an audio company was in the past. I can't imagine why it didn't make it.
  20. If you can't see the weave from your seat position with a pair of binoculars is it really going to matter?
  21. The only reason I can see someone talking you out of an AT screen is if the ones they sell are not AT. Mine is spandex and I am very pleased with it. I can definitely see the difference in quality in the Seymore fabric, but have yet to see it in action. I went from a 100" non-AT to 130" AT and will NEVER go back. I firmly believe that the larger the screen the more important it is to go AT. Even at 100" it was easy to notice the center sound coming from below the screen even though it was as close as it could get to the screen. The Center channel at the same height as the mains anchors the sound directly in the center of the screen where it should be. Much more realistic, especially if watching from a short distance. I have not noticed sound quality issues at all, but my mains are outside the screen with only the center concealed.
  22. By far the best comment I have ever read! LOL. Love it bro.
  23. Very cool. Nothing like this around here. Rare to see such nice demo rooms. Seems the brick and mortar stores just can't compete with online stores.
  24. I don't think you could go wrong with two RSW15s. can't wait to hear them. Here is how I see it in the long term. This is where I would start and run a few REW sweeps to make sure any dead spots are not in key seats and adjust from there.
