  1. Really nice set of Belles for sale. Don't know the year but they came with the Klipsch AB crossovers and have been changed to Crites 4500 and Ct100 tweeters. Have original crossovers also. These were refinished and they came out very nice indeed. Have glass tops to protect the wood. I'm going to be firm on the price which is $3,200. I'm in the northwest corner of Missouri 60 miles north of KC. They're hooked up to a Marantz 2230 and sound very good with that amp. Glad to demonstrate.....thanks for looking.

  3. Of the Klipsch speakers I've owned my Belles are my favorite. But getting them set up to sound good didn't come easy. I tried to be satisfied with the rolled off bass but in the end I had to add a subwoofer to fill in the low bass. I also went through a bunch of different amps before I found the one I could live with. These suckers are really easy to overdrive with too many watts and the midrange horn can shriek at you if overdriven. Settled on a Marantz 2230 with 30 WPC and it's just about as perfect as I think solid state will be with these. My McIntosh MA6100 didn't work at all so it's back to powering my Forte's.

  4. I'm a Klipsch guy but I've just never been able to warm up to my RB 61's.........tried them in many situations and different amps. I'd say $300 is about what the RB 81's are worth.

  5. I had the newer Klipsch RP 260's and IMO they were too laid back. I also had RF 5's that I found too aggressive in the treble. These RF 260's were just right and sounded better to me than the previous two. Only reason I'm selling is that KLF 20's have now replaced these in my home theater.

  6. It only happened once and that was when I had them plugged into the same surge protector......I turned them both on at the same time. Since then I've run a separate surge protector on the preamp, turn it on first, let it warm up a few minutes and then switch the amp on. Hasn't happened again.

I wonder if someone with more tube experience than I have can answer a question for me. Does it take a few minutes for a Conrad Johnson PV2 to stabilize after flipping it on? Seems I can get some nasty feedback from it through my speakers if I turn it on immediately but if I warm it up for a few minutes before turning on my amp it's dead quiet in that regard. Sounds really good too. Just concerned their could be a problem that needs checking out. Thanks!

  9. Seems a lot of folks really like the amps from the Schitt company.......like the Aegis and Vidar. One of them runs in something similar to class A for the first 10 watts. American company with everything designed and built right here.

  10. My set of Bells came with Crite's crossovers and the upgraded DE 120 tweeter. The woofer is original. They sounded very good with my McIntosh MA 6100 integrated but I couldn't help but try running my Conrad Johnson PV2 as a preamp running into the Mac amp. Took some of the hard edge off the drivers with the upgraded crossovers that can be pretty bright. I'm really happy with the sound for now. The great thing about the big Klipsch 3 ways is being able to try so many different amp combinations with them....they're so efficient.
