As long as you don't have audible distortion you're fine.

    That's right.

Keep them inside and keep the volume control in the same room as the speakers and you'll be able to tell if the speakers are in distress.

  2. Both fedex and ups offer freight service.

As does roadway, us freight and many others.

Have it all on a pallet and strapped down,  give them a call to schedule a pick up and work out loading details.

You may have to load them yourself.

Best to have them at dock height.

Roadway delivered a pallet to my residence a few months ago. I had to schedule the delivery and they wanted details on what my driveway was like.

They brought a box truck and unloaded it.

  3.   Smoking was permitted everywhere when I was young.

I can remember ash trays being in the waiting room of the family doctor.

The local store would sell tobacco/beer to kids thinking it was for their pa. I was sent to buy cigarettes when I was 10 years old.  It was no big deal. Everybody new each other but later when the kids became teenagers  the store owner new their pa didn't smoke 3 packs a day or drink 2 cases on the weekend.

  4. I smoked for 20 years, started at age 13. I quit 18 years ago cold turkey after coming down with bronchitis.

For about a 2 week period a cigarette would choke and choke me while trying to smoke. It was so frustrating to want a smoke but couldn't.  Finally I got mad at the cigarettes and the addiction.  On a Monday I went to work as usual but refused to open my pack. As long as I had cigarettes on me I couldnt bring myself to bum one. By Thursday the pack was pretty beat up so I threw it out and grabbed fresh one. After a week I no longer needed to carry cigarettes with me.

    Haven't missed them a bit.

  5.      I agree paying tax on used items is excessive but sales tax has been collected in a retail setting such as antique and thrift stores for a long time in ohio. More people are accepting credit cards at yard sales and flea markets. No doubt the government will cracking down there in the future.

Who pays the sales tax at an estate sale, the buyer or seller, is negotiated between the auctioneer and the estate.

I've seen it go both ways.

What burns me is the tax collected on core charges for automotive parts is not rembursed when the core is returned.

  6. Congrats on the purchase, forte 1s are a terrific speaker and were my first klipsch.

The tags on the back will have the type of finish weather it is oiled or lacquered.

I would give them a good listen first before making updates. I would check for airleaks around the woofer and passive and check the tweeters are working properly.

    Post many pictures.
