Well how often do you see these come up? There will always be Vintage every week if you are willing to drive to buy. I drove 1600+ miles round trip to get my last batch of 456's and I figure that may never happen again. At the very least you can wait years to get this caliber of speaker so you snooze you lose.

It is a 506. For those of you who have wondered about Pro gear your jaw will drop when you hear these for the first time. Seriously though don't go if you want to hang on to your Cornwalls or KHorns. It would be better for you if you never hear these.

The KPT-456's are better. Get them and sell the KP-450's for what you paid on the 456's. These older woofers are also capable of going lower than the newer smooth coned ones will. The ribbed cones are better than the smooth ones.

Anyone near these and wondering best jump on them. I have had six sets from the same source and all were in great shape and sound superb. They will not last long at all if he goes to EBay. Jump in your vehicle and go get these bad boys. If you have never heard any of these you have no idea how good they are.

That is right. The DE120 and 110 are the ones for this.

A speaker that makes a crappy recording sound good is MAGICAL and I want one. 😀 -

I don't think Kink is the same as OD. He had the misfortune to come in on a thread like this one and got jumped on. He could have gone anywhere else and probably would have been OK. -

I have noticed this on some of the music these editing geniuses work on and I can't play them at any volume at all without severe sound problems. I don't have a good way to describe it other than it sounds like death to speakers if you persist. I can't imagine what speakers these guys use to think they have done a good job. -
I am finding gaps in my list of speakers and wonder if anyone out there has a complete list of speakers made by Klipsch from the late 80's to the early 2000's and perhaps on. I am trying to figure out what all takes tweeters the same size as the ones in the Chorus and Forte and KP-250. Both pro and classic are of interest to me. It does not matter if they are exponential or tractix or whatever it is the size I am interested in.

Funny how rooms can effect things. I bought a set of AL crossover La Scalas and went to pick them up. The guy had them in a room with a bunch of other gear and the bass was remarkable and they sounded really nice. I get them to my shop and it is like where did the bass go. -

Good Morning OD great to see you here today. I admire your luck and ability to always have the best of everything and the shiniest knobs. You even get a Cornwall that does not resonate! It is not fair because the five sets I have had all did do this. -

He might already be doing that with your woofers sad plight anyway. My experience with reconing in Nashville has been pretty sad and I hope yours will be better. -

Right, but you did bring some topics up that were bound to be responded to. If you do get the work done with Great Plains let us know how it all goes. -

OK wet them down well, mount to rack on car top and drive 70mph until dry. -

England is in the midst of a PC overthrow of what made them great. Your own people like the childless May who do not care about the future are selling you down the river and I don't understand the passive attitude which is allowing all this to happen. I read that Churchill is being censored now because of the truth he spoke about the Arabs being imported into England in wholesale lots. I fear for your country and see no peaceful way out as rational people have sat on their hands too long and now they must fight or lose England and they were silly enough to give up their guns so they are in heap big trouble. -

It's the best deal going. I don't hunt for used Altec woofers any more I just get my problem children reconed. You give him the specific information I am certain you will get a quote for that. -

It surprised me too. I have some Altec A-7's here to restore and when it is time for woofer reconing they go to Great Plains. I think they also check Alnico magnets and restore their characteristics if needed. -

I have to admit that songs like Crumbling Down by Mellancamp or Green Grass and High Tides by the Outlaws will chest thump you better on La Scalas than anything else I have owned but the tonal quality is lacking and so is the bass for me. Migrated to Pro gear and wont be back. -

I heard a set of the new La Scalas and Jubes with the 402's and it would be those Jubes any day for me over the La Scalas. Better sound and I think cheaper too.
