  1. Wow! 13 posts and 6 of them on this thread. Me thinks you done more to yourself here then anyone. Don't see where Jim done you wrong. Thanks for your thoughts, Taz. Mods have cleaned up a few posts, which I appreciate. I'm actually a very nice guy, but it doesn't take a whole lot to put me on the defensive. Especially telling me that my price is too high, which hasn't proven to be true at all. Best, Woody
  2. I'll get some pics tomorrow... I actually meant to take pics of the bottom and just forgot. I'll post more close ups as soon as I can. These may already be sold. No thanks to Jim. :-) - Woody Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Thanks for the encouragement, Jeff. I did a lot of research the last few days and what you're telling me is commiserate with my findings. I'm sure I'll get a good price for them... Perhaps not here, but I knew at least a few members would appreciate seeing them. I know I like to ogle, too. - Woody Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Thanks. Apparently I need all the wishes and luck I can get. ;-) These are special, and I think they'll fetch a special price. I'm in no hurry to sell them and they are still way less than a new pair of 3's. - Woody Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. I've bought and sold a ton of gear over the years. And I know exactly what is "typical" for a given piece and I throughly do my research. I see this pair of Heresy's as very atypical in the used market. Really nice pairs easily fetch $650-700 on the auction site and I've never seen anything with this level of original paperwork etc...I like setting new standards. You, Jim, are obviously not my target market. I'm looking for a discerning buyer that might be getting ready to drop $1700-2000 on a new pair of Heresy 3's, but would prefer a spectacular set of 1's with full plywood construction as opposed to MDF, and even throwing the gambit of Crite's mods on them could come out for less money for some great speakers. Thanks for continuing to crap in my thread. If any mods are reading this, feel free to clean up the thread. - Woody Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. 1. I said best offer. I don't expect I'll get my asking price usually, but it's a starting point. 2. Since people have to pay to support AK and to have access to bartertown I started my asking price at a bit of a courtesy price. The Klipsch forum is open to the public. 3. Thanks for being rude. If you were interested or concerned with my disparity you could have PM'd me. I'll update my ad to $800 firm for now. - Woody
  7. *** Sold sold sold *** These might be the nicest pair of Klipsch Heresy 1's in existence. Beautiful grills in a brown cloth with original badges etc... I got these as part of a lot of equipment I bought out of an estate. They were hooked up to the system in the main living room until I removed them. Probably since new. I haven't oiled the wood, I'll leave that up to the new owner... although they would probably look even better! They sound excellent. I think these would fetch a mint on the auction site. I haven't opened up the backs, but I'm guessing they are fully stock. I will open them up and take pics if someone wants me too. LOOK AT THE ORIGINAL PAPERWORK!! Basically two copies of everything, including the envelopes! CRAZY! Sequential serial numbers (8L059 & 8L060) Put these as 1973 models. They are model HWO, which is Heresy Walnut Oiled. They have some of the most beautiful grain I've seen... almost matched to each other. See the pics. No risers/bases. I was asking $850obo. But now thanks to JimJimbo they are $800 firm. I'd prefer not to ship, but I might be able to get factory boxes and packing from Klipsch if someone wants them bad enough. I will drive to meet someone as far as within 3hrs of Wichita, KS — Kansas City, Oklahoma City, Tulsa etc... for $50. If you are a serious buyer, let's talk. Thanks! - Woody
  8. Muhahahaha. I love them. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. The grills were fab'd up buy a guy that Bill Hendrix pointed me to. Really nice. Reasonably priced too. They are black powdercoated perf'd steel. Good eye on my Juicy. It's a BBX. I want to send it to Mark for all the Maxim Mods. Hopefully soon. The amps in this picture are actually a pair of Parasound ZAmp's bridged mono for 90wpc into 8ohms. They sound fantastic and I have very little into them buying them used. I also have a pair of Larry Moore Ultra-Fi 300B monoblocks I've run. They have a looser sound because of the volume of the room, but they are silky smooth. I love them with simpler music, jazz guitar, singer songwriter type stuff. But for bigger music, the tube pre and SS amps seems to be the ticket. Here's a pic with the 300B's. - Woody Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. Thanks guys. It's a bit "live", but the system still sounds pretty incredible if you don't get nutty with the volume knob. I have a smaller dedicated room, but not running Klipsch in there. I got the KPT's specifically for this large room which is about 32'x38' in the main part of it. - Woody Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  12. I have KPT-904/450's. Mine use an EAW horn instead of the 510, but the same compression driver. I had custom crossovers built by Bob Crites based on measurements/experience from Bill Hendrix that shows in stock form the horn is a bit hot (3-4db) for 2ch use. The reason for that is to compensate for being behind a perf'd screen in theater applications. I had a painter buddy of mine spiff them up to be less pro-audio looking. I really enjoy them. - Woody Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Where exactly are you located? These are beautiful. - Woody
  14. Agreed. I had mine painted and installed new passive balanced crossovers from Crites to bring down the horn by 3db. They are amazing.- Woody
  15. The quietest and best sounding amp I've used so far with my KPT-904's is a Red Wine Audio Signature 16. It uses a battery and a smart charger to compleatly isolate it from mains power. Dead effing quiet. And a single tube buffer stage to add some sweetness. It's amazing. I got mine used off AGon for about $1100. - Woody
