  1. Okay here goes, I know I am opening up a can of worms here, but I have to ask. I run Klipsch heritage speakers. ( Khorns, La Scalas, Cornwalls ). I am getting to my question just going the long way around, I am currently running Sony str GX10es receivers with my speakers and truly enjoy the sound. Over the years I have tried many amps, & receivers. I have tried tube gear of various types, did not care for i, don't care for Mcintosh gear, people talk of that buttery, liquid, smooth, mellow sound. Does it actually exist? I run all vintage gear and am not interested in new or pro gear. Remember the talking heads song Life during wartime I've changed my hair style so many times now that I don't know what I look like. That is how I feel about stereo gear. And finally my friends, I have not tried any Marantz gear. Mainly because, the price for the " really good Marantz " is a little pricey. I know someone is going to pop in and say, if your happy with your Sony receivers then stop looking. Its just before I pull the trigger on a high quality vintage Marantz , can someone tell me are the heavens going to open up with Marantz. Or any recommendations for that illusive fluid sound?
  2. would you by chance have that website.
  3. I just bought 3 cornwalls and the seller had the crossovers replaced. The crossovers he replaced were sold in pairs. so he had to buy 4 of them. So I have an extra one and will probably sell it but I cant find the value anywhere. It is new ( never installed ). It is from ALK engineering Klipsch B series replacement. Anyone have an ideal of value? Thanks

  5. Lets not forget the concert for Bangladesh. The man was a musical genius. We are loosing many greats. This is a road we are heading down. Our time will come, Life is short, lets enjoy while we can & maybe pass on some of the music from the great ones. Russell, Bowie, Harrison, Lennon, and the list goes on. Music has changed over the years and like everything it has become to commercial ( money grubbing ) The greats will live on, but we need to keep it alive. Hey, Hey My, My.
  6. are they still for sale. I am in your area Dean PH # ( 251 ) 213 - 1388
  7. Bruce, Thanks for the comment on the Shinalls, They really are great speakers. Dean
  8. To everyone, please call if interested in anything. I am getting many PM's on various items. Some are asking about shipping on items that I cant ship. Sorry for the inconvenience. I am a phone person. 251 213 - 1388 Dean
  9. Darnit! Would need to be shipped. That is a fair price, "SG". Have always wanted to try one of these out on the LS. You have a very nice collection there, Sir. Good luck! I have owned three of these and sold and shipped two of them. If you want it shipped. I will consider it thru Fed Ex, If I had to guess it would be in the $100 neighborhood. This is shipping with insurance and the cost of packing material. Just food for thought.
  10. Yes the bose 1801 is fro sale, works great, new leds. $400. cant ship. can barely pick up. I am not going to let the postal carriers destroy this one
  11. Thought I would give this on e more go around. I am moving away from the audio game for a while. More pressing things on my plate. I took the last eleven years and dabbled in buying and selling audio gear, making upgrades to my personal system when I could. Pensacola FL - Mobile AL I am 30 minutes from either. I have quite a few items for sale. I will try to list them in as few post as I can. Not sure how many photos I can put in each post. Some items can be shipped & others due to size will be for pick up. The first set of photos is of my music room. You will be able to see and get a general ideal of what I am selling. If you are interested in an item in the photos but it is not listed below, send me a pm or call and we can talk about it. I will probably keep one system for myself and it will determine what sells. The prices I have put on the audio equipment, I feel is fair, but I may be willing to entertain offers on some of it. The following is a partial list of what I have for sale, One pair (2) Klipsch R-115sw, I bought these in August of 20015 for $1600, They have very little play time, the grills have never been put on them, I still have their boxes. They are like new, no damage anywhere. Price $1100. One pair of Altec 19s modified, bi amped, with 2 Crown xls-2002 amps to drive them. They were professionally modified and BLOW AWAY the original model 19s. I know this because when I bought them, I owned beautiful pair of all original 19s with totally professionally rebuilt woofers. The mods I currently have blew them away. I immediately sold the originals. The mods have 18" woofers & can handle a 1000 watts. Condition wise, they are exceptional. sonically they can blow the windows out. Or as a friend of mine said they will blow your face off. Speakers with amps, Price $2200 One pair of UREI 813B time aligned studio monitors. These came from the Opryland recording studios out of Nashville TN. Cosmetically in great condition. Sonically, again they will blow the windows out. A true piece of audio history, only two thousand made. Price $2000 One pair of Shinall KKS1 speakers, these are one of twelve pair made in the world and have been upgraded with all Bob Crites components. I know I will catch hell from the forum members, but at the time I bought them, I owned a perfectly good pair of Khorns. I sold the Khorns when I got the Shinalls. I have had several of the Klipsch forum members listen to them and were like a deer in the headlights. I have watch tears come to peoples eyes while listening to them. My price is based on two things, condition & sound. Go ahead and dog them. Call them Khorns knockoffs, ( whatever you like). Only 12 pair made and this was the last pair Gary Shinall made before he passed away. The simple fact is they are ultra, ultra, rare and will stand toe to toe with Khorns all day long. Of everything I own it hurts the worst to get rid of these. Price $3500 I have other speakers for sale as well. look at the photos. One Sony str GX90es receiver. fantastic condition. Price $400 One Luxman 1070 reciever, plays perfect, has a couple of lights ( bulbs ) out Price $350 13 framed rock lps, 21 not framed rock lps, condition is near mint to un played. I used them for display only. Seldom did they get played. Price $300 23 Pieces of rock framed artwork. My wife & I bought the frames and put all the rest together ourselves. This is with the exception of 3 of the pieces. My cost in these was in the neighborhood of $2500 - $2600. I will only sell the group together. Please look at the photos, but keep in mind the photos do not do them justice. These will set your music room off like you wont believe. price $1000 OK there you have it. Its just part of what I am selling. No PM's please. Call @ ( 251 ) 213-1388 Thanks Dean Looks like It will take two postings for the photos.
  12. My wife & I when we first met.
  13. THE quiz is over, FUZZYDOG was the winner Thanks everyone
  14. You are exactly correct. My comments, were misleading. I got confused because I was listening to living past lp living while thinking of posting the quiz. This was an honest mistake. I promise in my next quiz posting, I will be 100% accurate in my listing. My apologies to all that I confused. I am sure if I would have been more accurate in my post I would have more participation. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I was so excited about putting my quiz together that I confused some of you with my incorrect facts. Wondering aloud has the following lyrics, ( and its only the taking that makes you what you are. ) First post of this kind, next will be accurate. Dean
  15. I can do one on Zappa that will make you want to eat the yellow snow, and the quiz wont be that simple.
  16. Thats part of the point ( the DUH factor ) Thanks for playing, I sure thought one of you guys from Texas was going to win. I plan more, any opinion. The duh factor being part of the quiz is fine, makes people think and can be fun. But I want to be passing along a good message with my quiz. Dean
  17. I get most of my lyrics from my head. Lyrics like the ones in the quiz stuck in my head years ago. If I am not sure of the lyrics I turn to the lp. If you want to get the lyrics incorrect, turn to the internet. They are screwed up all over. I enjoyed your participation. I sorry you got on a site that had things messed up. I thought for sure you were going to win, as close as you were getting. I plan to do more, any thoughts? Dean
  18. Thanks everyone. I am thinking of doing this again soon. Hope at least some of you enjoyed it. I have a funny feeling fussydog will really enjoy it. Love one another, do something nice for someone, let someone know that you are there for them and please never forget, And it's only the giving that makes you what you are. This all from a stranger you do not yet know ( but maybe someday ) STAY GROOVY BABY,,, Dean
  19. "Wond'ring Aloud" Wond'ring aloud --how we feel today. Last night sipped the sunset -- my hands in her hair. We are our own saviours as we start both our hearts beating life into each other. Wond'ring aloud -- will the years treat us well. As she floats in the kitchen, I'm tasting the smell of toast as the butter runs. Then she comes, spilling crumbs on the bed and I shake my head. And it's only the giving that makes you what you are.
  20. Quiz is over. FUZZYDOG wins. The answer is ( And it's only the giving that makes you what you are. ) NOW that is paying it forward. IAN knew this before the saying became popular.
