  1. U shoukd try running ur rf 7s small witha. Crossover of 80. With movies like edge of tomorrow and other movies with massive lfe, your subwoofer will handle the lower frequencies much much better.
  2. Tron legacy is one of my favorite movies for showing off my HT. House shaking lfe.
  3. Ohh snap! They pry watched me play destiny last night and swear at a bunch of 14 yr olds.
  4. Casual listening for me on my 82s is -30. If I want to rattle my foundation and piss of my neighbors, then -10 to -5.
  5. Basically if you have a good sub run speakers small. Lett he sub do what it wqs made for. Seamless smooth bass that you can feel. My theory is run large if you have no sub and for sure set small if you have a good sub. Set crossover at 80 or 60 hz. You will get the best quality sound with less distortion that way. Watch tron with ur speakers set to large with the volume at -10 db and it will make ur towers distort.
  6. I have the 82s and set to small with my sw 115 sub. The bass sounds so smooth and its the good bass that you can feel and not here. An explosion is a nice hit to the chest. Crossed at 80hz in the avr. Its slick how smooth and seamless the bass is with a quality setup.
  7. If MCACC set ur sub at -10 , you need to turn the gain on ur sub down. The idea with mcacc is you want to set the gain so that mcacc calibrates it at close to 0db as possible. I got mine calibrated at 0.5 db. You want it closest to 0 as possible. Took me a few tries but you keep turning your gain down a little until mcacc gets it as close to 0 as possible. There is a great thread on avs called the official pioneer mcacc thread that talks about this.
  8. Nice purchase, however my buddy has that receiver with a pair of rf 62s and to be honest it sounds muddy compared to my pioneer elite. It could be his room accoustics but it seems muddy or muffled compared to the quality of my pioneer. I could also be used to the more bright sound of my pioneer. Great receiver though all around. The video processor works great in that receiver.
  9. I use a Pioneer Elite sc71 with the class D amps and the dynamics are huge with the rf82 setup! I went pioneer elite because of their class D amps. Very efficient and huge huge dynamics. Runs the 82s like.a boss.
  10. Another thumbs up for tron. If you want your foundation to crumble, chapter the Grid... will sound like your house is taking off. Test it on reference levl like I do and jaws will drop. The LFE on the grid scene right after he enters the grid from the arcade is truly amazing. At reference levels it will crumble your foundation. My whole house pulsates and walls flex. My wife told me black pebbles from the shingles if our roof were rolling off the house. Peopel tell me that war of the worlds tops tron, so I have to get my hands on that one.
  11. Any thoughts? I have mine on for dust and cat. Any noticeable difference with the grills off? Rollin with the RF82 IIs. I may test them with the grills off, but dont want my cat to scratch the drivers.I do take them off to show people and jaws drop. They are one sexy speaker with the grills off.
  12. I have the Pioneer Elite sc 71 and it kicks some butt. Class D amp, puts my rf 82s to work and huge HUGE dynamics! I have a sw 115 sub and it shakes my foundation, watching tron it made black pebbles from my shingles roll down and off the roof of my house.
  13. If you can still find one, Panasonic ZT60... I have the VT50 65" from 2012 and it will blow away 95 percent of the tvs on the market today. I also have a 50" Pioneer elite Kuro. Some if the best tvs ever made from pioneer and panasonic.
  14. Thanks for the response, Yes my sw 115 wasin full effect with tron! Tron has a sick lfe track that really digs deep! The sw 115 was shaking my whole house and the walls on all floors were litterly pulsating. These titanium tweeters... it would take a lot to blow one of them correct? I mean at 0db it is loud! Tweeters in the center and surriunds are safe as well you think? I understand it takes a lot to blow a tweeter let alone klipsch titanium tweeters. The Horns make the detail just pop! I got a lot of compliments on how clear they sound. Love the horns!
  15. Yeah they didnt dissapoint! My guests were blown away and my foundation was in trouble, lol. I just want to make sure I dont damage them. My pioneer Elite is calibrated using MCACC with the speakers set to small and x over at 80hz. My understanding is that mcacc calibrates to reference volume (0db) and im sure the 82s are fully.capable of running at that level.
